The idea is that when I increase the input area, I would like to interpolate between the RFFP frequency for the flow Q50/Q20 that best fits the area and provide me with a peak flow rate.
i have a river cross section data. for different flow levels in the river i need to to calculate the flow area. i have a very large series of flow level data for 10 years at 1 hr interval.can you give a solution of that.

One of my coworkers is trying to create a document that has 3 columns in one part of the spreadsheet, but further down on the page, he needs to have 4 columns but wants them to use the same amount of space as the three columns. I have looked around and don't see how that is possible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOnce a user of my workbook has input various price levels on the Input Page, the data is sorted on the output page. As the data on the Output Page is quite vast and not all of it is relevant on a particular day, the user is interested in just printing a certain range of data that are in 5 columns. I am trying to figure out how to set up a macro that will allow the user to enter into an Input Box the range to print (ie. Cells C25:G60).
I found one example on this site listed below that allows one to do that but I would like to make it more user friendly. I do not want to make the user have to write out Excel cooridinates. Specifically by allowing the user to input in the Input Box a High price level in Column C and a Low Price level in Column C ; The macro will look in Column C for the highest instance of this High Price and begin the range down to the last instance of the Low Price (there can be several instances of the exact price level.) The macro would then create the print preview of the cells Cxx:Gyy.

How to create an area in excel where by if a customer enters an account number all of their account details would be automatically entered into the address fields?
We have a 2007 Excel workbook with the same "watermark" on every sheet. For some reason on 2 pages of the workbook the "watermark" has begun to show up in front of the data on spreadsheet rather than behind data. How do we highlight watermark and place behind data again? Watermark was added through the "Add Header" function originaly and is working fine on all but two worksheets.

I have data that consists of a set of coordinates that is indirectly related to an angular measurement. The data set that I have consists of four sets of coordinates and four coresponding angles. The data is below.

How can I get excel to give me values for X and Y based on an angle that I input, such as 22.45. plotting a graph of the X and Y gives a curved output, so the methods that I know of do not seem to be working.
I have other more complex sets of data with complex curves that I would like to use a similar method to mine data.
I have a dataset of 360 columns and 180 rows in Excel 2007 and I want to increase the resolution of the dataset by 2 (i.e. I want to insert a value between each pair of cells, both vertically and horizontally). The calculation (interpolation) need not be complicated - I was thinking along the lines of a simple bilinear interpolation, where each new value is based on an average of the 4 cells surrounding it.
I'm fairly new to this type of operation in Excel, so I'd appreciate it if any responses I receive aren't too vague!

This is a bit complicated, but basically A1 through A37 are a series of cash flows after payment of debt service from month 0 (closing) to month 36. The real estate project has two investors, the Institutional Investor and the Developer. In this case, the Institutional Investor contributes 90% of the required project equity and the developer contributes the remaining 10%. The cash flow is distributed according to a set of parameters specifying cash flow percentage allocations and IRR targets, collectively known as a "cash flow waterfall"." As with all for-sale residential development deals, the early cash flows are negative and then turn positive as unit sales occur. The order of distribution of the cash flow remaining after debt service is paid is as follows (the waterfall):
1. Both investors receive the return of their invested capital from cash flow distributions.
1. Hurdle 1 (after the return of equity to both investors), the Institutional Investor receives 90% of the monthly cash flows and the Developer 10%, proportional to their respective overall equity contributions, until both investors achieve a 12% IRR (all IRR's to be calculated from deal inception/first dollar invested).
2. Hurdle 2, (after Hurdle 1 is satisfied), the Institutional Investor receives 60% of the monthly cash flows until the Institutional Investor achieves an 18% IRR.
3. The Final Split (after satisfying Hurdle 2) allocates monthly cash flow 50% to each investor.
On an overall project basis, the Developer should realize a disproportionate share of the cash flow after the second hurdle is hit. This is what is known as the "promote." The most recent 36 month (37 including Closing) projected cash flows are as follows:

I realize this is complicated, but this structure is quite common to real estate, private equity, venture capital and hedge fund investments (along with most any joint venture deals with multiple classes of equity participants). The canned software that is out there that performs this type of anlysis is both expensive and rigid, and doesn't typically enable the required sensitivity analysis in structuring a deal.
I am using a script that I found on this site (see below). The problem I am having is that I recieve an error on one of my sheets. The used range streatches from Column A to Column J and from row 1 to past 32767. I have found that if I delet the information below row 32767 that I do not get an error. Is there anything I can do out side of splitting the information up on different sheets?

I need to take number in between cells. For example, I have numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. When I type 5 in a column, I want to have 4 and 6, above and below 5. I am doing this to ease interpolation, so that whenever I want to do interpolation, I just need to type what number, I would like to have to be interpolated.

Having done a search through previous threads I found some BiLinear Interpolation code that works using the table in a workbook, but what I'd really like is the Interpolation of the formulae rather than the resulting table and for it to be embedded in VBA.

I want to know how to be able to curve a curve in 4 different ways essentially the 2 that make up the two halves of a peak and the 2 that make up the two halves of a trough. I've tried using the LINEST function to create this interpolation and it's good to get 1 of the 4 curves I'm interested in. how to do the other 3? I'm also interested in knowing if these functions "whip the tail up" as in almost like how the tail end of a "sin" function flips back up. here it is.

For this example of the exponential function, it creates the curve in one particular direction. I was wondering how I would do it to have it curve in another direction, for example I was testing the same function, but going downwards, and also having the tail curve back up (by hump I mean to simulate a gaussian distribution with the tails) how would I do that. seems like I now have part 1 of 4 aspects of the curve. here's the attached file to show what I mean. I want to get the hump going up and then sort of reflected along the y-axis and then similar features if I were to reflect the curves on the x axis. is it possible with the functions in excel? I am trying to forcast out the invoice collection date (C1). So basically in the month of June column I am trying to say if C1 falls between June 1 & June 30th then it should equal D1 (the amount due in that month). So if the invoice has a due date (C1) that falls in that particular month than I am forecasting the cash flow in the month it's collected.
