Custom Change Macro's Range Value, From Cells Input.
Oct 17, 2009
The code below works fine, I can copy selected area into new sheet. However, I wish to custom change the Range("A1:AO164") value, for example, at cells(1,1) I key in A1, then cells(1.2) I key in A56, then this changes will reflect to the value in this macro to Range("A1:A56"). I tried using this way :
Dim A as string
cells(1,1).text = a
cells(1,2).text = b
I want to create a macro which asks some information like functions do. For example, I would like the macro to ask for some data to be filled by the user. For that purpose I thought about using the inputBox vba function. I wanna fill the field in the inputBox with a reference to a range from an excel sheet. So, I click on a cell and then I try to hold ctrl + down cursor to get all the range starting from that cell on until the last consecutive filled cell on the sheet. Nonetheless, the problem I have is that when I do ctrl+down cursor, I just do not get the reference I want, because it seems that the ctrl+down cursor combination does not work in the inputbox for filling a reference to a range of cells. Does anyone know some workaround to achieve this?
1st - Need a macro to change a range of cells colours based on a single cell having a value greater than 0.001. ie. cells A1 - G1 need to change to grey based on cell F1 having a value greater than 0.001 entered in it?
2nd - Also a macro for deleting the text contents of cell C1 based on cell F1 having a value greater than 0.001. Therefor if cell F1 has a number greater than 0.001 it changes the colour of celss A1 - G1 and also deletes the text in cell C1?
With that said, I want to put the row number of a user in (I have a few thousand on this spreadsheet, and all the = data be automatically pulled based on the row number I put in cell B1. So I'm hoping to write in cell B1 the following - "143" (without the quotes), and the remaining cells in column B automatically pull that data based on that, so it would look like the following
Row # 143 Name: =C143&" , "&D143&" "&E143
How do I write the functions to keep the columns the same, but change the row number based on the number I input?
I have a range of cells that I want to sum based on a range inputed by the user. The range begins with cell c27 and ends with cell au27. I want the user to be asked the beginning cell and ending cell of the range they want to sum and then output the answer.
Trying to run a VBA to colour a range of cells based on the input of a name. I can write the basic level VBA to colour one cell by numerical input but struggling to see how this can be adapted to colour a range of cells and if instead of 1,2,3,4 etc the case could be replaced as text: eg Joe, John, Jason etc.
So I'm creating a UserForm that takes user input to create a worksheet based on the values input. My question is: How to select a range of cells based on a variable input value? For example, it asks how many competitors there are, and the user can input 5, 8, 10, etc. So I want that many cells in Row 1 selected, whatever the value input is.
This worksheet has around 40,000 records, and I need to create a Macro that will ask the user for a date, and when the user enters a date the macro goes through column A and finds all of the matching dates and then replaces the numbers (along with the formulas) in the corresponding Add Returns cells (column E) with 0's.
I have only been able to create an inputbox, but I am completely lost regarding the criteria due to being very new to VBA.
Sub ClearData() Dim EnterDate As Date Dim msg As String
Currently my Macro should: Turn off any filtersNumber column A from 1 to 1000 (starting in A14)Drags formula from K14-O14 down to last row of data shown in column Athen puts cursor in last empty cell in column B ready for user to enter data
On point 3 - I want the range to be K14-O14 if active worksheet equals "EXCHANGES" but if its on the "VALUATIONS" tab the autofill range should be L14-P14
I have found bits and pieces of macros on the internet and put them together so if my macro below is not the most effective for my needs but here it is in it's current state:
Here is my macro:
Sub AddNewEntry() 'TURNS OFF FILTER IF FINDS ONE ON Dim wks As Worksheet
I'm trying to get a range of cells to change colors. This should happen from VBA code and happen on specified sheet that is not the default sheet when the userform appears that has the button that triggers the event. I have to reference the range with variables because it changes depending on other events.
I want macro2 to activate whenever there is a change in Range(C25:C5000). I want macro2 to activate only once even if there are 10 changes to the cells within this range. I tried the code below but it does not work.
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate() If ActiveCell.Row > 25 And ActiveCell.Row < 5000 And ActiveCell.Column = 3 Then macro2 End If End Sub
I have a workbook in Excel 2007 with several sheets imported from other workbooks. In the course of this, one of them has brought several custom cell styles with it and I would like to be rid of them, as they clutter up the cell styles gallery.
Most of them were cooperative and deleted simply enough by right-clicking and selecting 'Delete', but one is proving a little more stubborn.
When I mouse over it, it plays the 'alert' noise (the 'bink' you get when Excel wants to alert you to something) and then nothing happens. There is no noticeable change to text or cell, as there should be thanks to 2007's previewing ability. Trying to apply the style results in the message
"Style ' 386grabber=VGA.3GR ' not found."
(the line breaks are present in the message and seem to be because the style name actually has character returns as the first and last characters).
Is there a way to delete this style, or am I going to have to resign myself to having an annoying noise every time I try to apply styles
I have a range (J:M) that contains a conditional formatting with more than 3 conditions. It is based on a script I found on this site but the problem is that the colors don't change unless I edit the cell.
I need to edit all cells in this range at once. How can I do that? Basically it could do a loop through all cells in the range and "F2+enter" but it seems to be a very "stupid" way to do it. How can I update the cells in the range in a better way?
I work in a Wordprocessing Center. I have a spreadsheet that is a list of dates, and the jobs/projects that were done on that day. The dates are for the days Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
So, for example: in cell E2:E150 are the dates ranging from 11/2/2007 through 11/4/2007.
Off to the side, in cell L:15 through L:17, I've manually typed in the dates 11/2/2007 to 11/4/2007.
My problem is: I need to be able to count how many times 11/2/2007 shows up in the range of E2:E150. The thing is, I don't want to have to type 11/2/2007 or 11/3/2007 or 11/4/2207 in the formula. I want it to get the specific date from L:15 (what I've typed in).
My goal is that the range of dates will always change in cells E2:E150. Then I will manually type in the three dates of question into cells L15:L17. Then Excel will count the occurences for me.
