Data Validation List - Country Names Are Selections But 2 Digit Codes Need To Be Result

I've written a procedure that loads a list of country selections in a dropdown (see attached/vb editor/ThisWorkbook).
The problem is the valid values for this column need to be just the two digit country codes, not the country code +dash+country name. The reason the dropdown selections include both the two digit country code and the country name is because most users will not know the two digit codes. Presenting the selections in this fashion will make t much easier for the user to make the proper selection.
So here is what I need: When the user makes a selection from the dropdown list, the resulting value needs to be the two digit country code only. Is there a way to incorporate this formula .... =MID(B2|1|2) ... in the vba procedure which runs after the user makes a selection? Or, is there another way to accomplish this?

I've got a worksheet with five columns of data. One of the columns contains country codes. I have a list of countries that the codes relate to. I would like a new column in the worksheet that contains the country name. I'm not sure if this is possible, but it seem that most things are with VBA! The countries and their codes are on 'Sheet2' I relalise I might have to do some boring re-ordering of the data on 'Sheet2'

I would like to find out how can I create a chart, where it is interacting with the selection of 3 drop down list (created from data validation-list option). It will show up to 12 months of data.
First list would have only Male & Female, 2nd list would have 1st Class, 2nd Upper, 2nd Lower, 3rd Class and Pass Only, 3rd list would have all the months of 3 years.
My data is from J9:U22. These data needs to be changed accordingly, reading from D45:U58.
For the graph, if I select Male, 2nd Upper, and Jun-2012, I want it to show only this selection, where the period will be from Jul-2011 till Jun-2012.
Previously I have done one, with only 1 selection of drop down list, where I used Vlookup. Now involves 3 criterias.
Or is there an easier way to do it?

Data validation using named ranges as countries are listed multiple times and to relate country with cities.
How can i relate country with city in two different columns(named ranges) not in order.
Formula to be used for Data Validation would be useful.
Sample data file is attached.
Its just a sample.data can be for 250 rows.

I have a monthly report showing actuals and budget for current month (or quarter) and year to date. Range names have been created for (1) each month, (2) each quarter and (3) year to date). I'm using the SUMPRODUCT function to extract information by account. For example:
=SUMPRODUCT(($A9=ACT_Account)*(ACT_Jan))
This formula works except I have to replace the "ACT_Jan" each month accordingly. Can a data validation list be created with the range names so that updating this formula monthly can be simplified? For example, changing "ACT_Jan" to "ACT_Feb" with a drop down list.

I have been working on this data entry and validation tool for work for a while now. I've got most of it down and works just as I want it to. However, I have made some validation lists for people to select and animal ID when entering some data. Once the animal ID is entered I want to remove it from the source data and the list to stop people entering a duplicate number for the same event.
I'm not sure how easy/difficult this will be but the whole reason for this project was to stop people entering the same data and only allow them to enter data that I pre-define. Its to cut down on mistakes where somone will enter the wrong ID and then finding the correct ID becomes difficult due to having over 4000 animals on site.

I am trying to do 2 things involving data validation. 1) Count the number of entries in a data validation dropdown list and display a result. 2) Use an If statement to pull the formatting from a cell into another cell.
An example would be if Cell A1="A", then show the drop down list associated with cell or sheet "!ryanB2". Alternatively, I would like to also display the number of entries in the drop down list.

Is there any vba codes that can show tab/sheet that is based on the filter selection.
For example:
Cell A1 have a data validation of Apple, orange and Mango
I have 3 tabs named Apple, orange and Mango.
So every time I select Apple on the main in page filter. Apple tab will show. and if orange then orange tab will show.

15__AW__AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL
The codes in E column are what is entered in a worksheet range (user cannot see the list). Needed is to show both the two-character code in column E and the text definitions in column F in the dropdown. As data validation now works, users only see the two-character code and are not remembering what the code stands for - they need to see the definition.
Is there a way to show both the two-character code from column E along with the text in column F? When user selects, only the code would be entered in the target cell. (Is data validation the correct technique?)
I have set this problem up in closely located cells to construct the issue. In reality, the validation list is well off-screen from where the user is actually inserting the codes and there are many more codes/definitions.

I have a couple of drop down lists of data created from lists as well as fields next to it.
What I want it to do is take that data, which is name, start time, end time, days worked, queue (or work type), and fill the table next to it which is just a 30 minute by 30 minute schedule sheet with days of week 1 and week 2 on top.
I figure it would be easier to have a GO button to do this.
I will attach an example of what I mean, but please, if you guys find that there is an easier way to do this, just let me know, I feel this might involve some code/macros instead of excel functions

I got 2 sheets. (1 called "Revenue", the other "101") in the sheet revenue are department codes (variable 100 to 999) they are situated in row "B". the corresponding data in row "D".
this data needs to be transported to the sheet "101"
in the sheet "101" are put the numbers 100 to 999 in row "A"
in row "B" we need the data from the revenue sheet that is corresponding with the department code.

updating validation selections. I have attached an example of a bigger worksheet I use.
Sheet data: this sheet contains the raw- date. Data will be added and changed continiously.
Sheet pivottable: this sheet is used to sort the drowdown list and filter out double entries. A Dynamic named range is set to the pivottable
Sheet form: in this we will choose a code by a dropdown list and the column data 4 is filled by a vlookup formula.
If the data is changed in the sheet data and we’ve refreshed the pivottable, the code on sheet form contains previous data, so the vlookup formula can’t find the data (resulting in n#a depending on using a ISERROR formula)
The following solutions I’ve already tried:
- A userform with a lisbox/combobox in combination with listindex and an index formula. The problem is that when I sort the pivottable the index and data do not match.
- I also used the information in this thread but this didn’t work.
Maybe I have to change the construction of my worksheet, but it is important that it works.

I have 2 columns First Name & Surname. What I want to do is create a data validation list on the surname which results in the 2nd data validation list only showing the first names which link to one of the surnames.
i.e. If I selected Smith in the 1st validation list then I would only like to see 'Paul' as an option in the 2nd list

I have a Userform that allows the user to input a country from a combobox which after clicking a button writes that data into Cell AH11 in the excel spreadsheet, what I need is for Cell AI11 to read what has been entered into Cell AH11, look up whether or not that country is on a list I have and enter a yes or a no if it is or it isn't on that list.

I'm creating a form with drop downs, and I'd like the answer choice someone makes for one question (ie- what county they're in) to affect the answer choices for a secondary question (ie- what city they're in).
I'd like to avoid using names, at least for the second dropdown (since there would be too many names, and in some of the questions in the data set things change too much for names to be a good option). I would also like to avoid using VBA to keep it simple and maintainable. Here is a simplified version of a small subset of the data.
Drop Down 1:
County (options: Santa Clara County, Napa County)
Drop Down 2:
Cities/Towns (options: the cities/towns that relate to the above county selection, without using names)

I have a spreadsheet that pulls in a log file after running a macro with 100000eight digit numbers which may or may not have a record in the system. These numbers are produced by using any seven digits and adding a check digit at the end for an eight digit number using the mod function specifically Mod7...=MOD(A1,7) , for example, if cell A1 has 1234567 the mod7 function will produce the check digit 5 then concatenating for the eight digit number 12345675. the next number will be produced by adding 1 to the end of the 7 digit number 1234567+1=1234568 then concatenating again the number with the check digit 6, 12345686. this would be sequential order.
my spreadsheet gets all the eight digit numbers with no record and sorts them in MOD7 sequential order in one column. since the spreadsheet ignores the eight digit numbers with records. my compiled list of numbers have non sequential numbers in the list.
i need a way in VB to loop through 100000 lines (column A) and find the first and last number of a MOD7 sequential range and place the first number in (column B) and the last in (column C).
I have figured a way to do this in a spreadsheet but it takes too many functions and calculations in 100000 lines so the spreadsheet takes too long to open and sometimes crashes!

I'm trying to use data validation to restrict the user to only selecting values in a list which I create. Right now, the list is a named range. I'd like to get rid of the range and just use a named list. I create a name using the following as my list.
Insert > Name > Create
Name: Fruit
Refers to:
banana,apple,orange
When I try to use the name Fruit in my data validation, I get the message "The List Source must be a delimited list, or a reference to single row or column." I thought my name "fruit" was a delimited list.

I do not have any code for this as I am unsure if it is possible. I have a list of range names in a column (A) that refer to different sheets and in an adjacent column (B) I have a list of data. Is it possible to write VBA code that will allow me to copy each value in column B to the corresponding cell in the workbook that relates to the range name in column A.

I have a List of Different Fruits in Cells A1 to A5
Apple
Banana
Orange
Strawberry
Cherry
And I use data validation list in 5 different cells from Cells C1 to C5 then in every cell the list will show all the fruits,
But I want that if I select Any Fruit in cell C1 that should not be included in the remaining 4 cells, and the fruits selected in Cells C1 and Cell C2 should not be included in the remaining 3 cells and so on....
I Used the formula
=IF(C1=A1,OFFSET(A2,,,COUNTA($A$2:$A$5),1),0)
But this works fine if I select Apple in the Cell C1, then the List of C2 Shows all Fruits other than Apple, But if in Cell C1 I select any fruit other than Apple it does not work... (Using Excel2007 & Win XP)

I have a product list where each row of the worksheet has an image, product details and suggested lists/retails for each local currency.
Some products are not available in certain countries and each market doesn't care to see the other market info. (There are hundreds of items and dozens of countries.)
How can I create a drop down selector so that a user can choose their market, i.e. "Australia," and only the rows and columns relevant to them appear?
Can this be done without macros,? This sheet is distributed among 100+ people and needs to work for lowest common denominator.
