Index Match A Value If Date Falls Between Two Dates

Aug 8, 2014

I have attached a sample workbook which shows my desired output.

In E3 I need a formula to index B3:B60 and bring back the value where D3 falls between the dates in A3:A60

I have manually typed 46 into E3 as 15/05/2013 is equal to or greater than 13/05/2013 but less than 20/05/2013

Returning Dollar Value If The Posting Date Falls Between Two Dates

trying to get a specific value to appear if the value falls within two dates in which it was posted.

I have the following data
1/1/2014 in Cell AB2
$1000 in cell M3
1/1/2014 in cell P3
12/1/2014 in cell Q3.

What I'm trying to do, if Value 1/1/2014 AB2 falls between 1/1/2014(P3) and 12/1/2014 (q3), then I want it to return $1000 (M3), if it does not, then to post 0 or blank.

Index & Match To Return Value Between Two Dates

Feb 12, 2010

how to go about this, as I always get confused with Index and Match. In my example, in col A I have the Beginning of a period, Column B is the End of the Period, and the amount to be matched is in Column D. Range A1 to E4 is the source data. Below that, starting from A9 to A37 are dates. I would like to match the corresponding value in range D2:D3 if the date in range in A9 : A37 falls between the period stated in A2:B3. I've listed how the values should appear in C9:C37.

See my attached spreadsheet. I am trying to get start dates and end dates based upon rates. The first start date is really simple, I just use A2. In F2 should return the last date from A2:A27 where the rate is I2. In E3 The I would like to return the first date in A2:A27 where the rate is G3. and so on. If the rate is 0 then the date can be blank or 1/1/1900.

I am currently using the following formula and it gives the result P-10, P-10, P-11 below dates that are manually entered. I can not figure out why the date 10/31/09 returns a P-11 value when it matches a P-10 value? All other dates work expcept for the 12 period ending dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SUM Using INDEX & MATCH (using Date Ranges)

Dec 28, 2006

B2 contains CITYNAME

A2 contains The name of the TAB the data relates too (although i cant find anyway of using this cell within a formula to read the relevant tab, maybe you know of a way)

This is the working code i currently have in cell B3, this is what i need to enhance.

=SUM(INDEX(ABCD!$1:$65536,0,MATCH(B2,ABCD!$1:$1,)))
This looks at the tab ABCD and sums all the values it finds in the column that matches the name supplied in cell B2 on Sheet1

Tab ABCD has dates within coulmn A, and Values in Column B, first row from Column B to Column Z contains the CITYNAME (coumn Z may become longer so this needs to be able to cope with that too.

What i would like to do is add into this an extra requirement, there must be a start and end date. I still need to use the match function as B2 changes using a drop down validation (containing CITYNAMES, these represent the columns within the tab ABCD

E1 Contains the STARTDATE
H1 Contains the ENDDATE

This is the closest I get, changing the start and end date does not give the expected result...

=SUM(--(ABCD!$1:$65536>=E1),--(ABCD!$1:$65536

Copy Data Of Index Match Function According Date?

Jun 24, 2014

I have the first sheet named "DPF" where I have a column "Date", "FIT", "Group" On my second Sheet named "Tracker" what I do want to do:

I select a date for example 18-07-2014 (Cell E3), if cell E4 I Have "Fit" and F4 "Group" In C6 I have E3-15, to get the date minus 15 days (03-07-2014) In C7 I have E3-12 (06-07-2014) and so on

What I want is, if the date of today is C6 or C7 or whatever, use the index match function to get the number corresponding to the date chosen (18-07-2014) for the FIT. But, once I get the figure, I want to keep it, because with the if function, once we are the 4th of July, the figure for C6 disappears...

Fri
18-Jul
FITGroup
Start
D-1503-Jul
D-1206-Jul
D-909-Jul
D-612-Jul
D-615-Jul
D-216-Jul
D-117-Jul
D18-Jul

So either a macro to copy the specific data into another sheet or a another way to keep it. Because the idea as the end is to do different scenario based on the result got per period..

Count How Many Times A Given Date Falls Between Date Pairs

Aug 3, 2009

I'm trying to use countif or similar to show how many times a given date is between 2 dates (inclusive). Each row of the spreadsheet contains amongst other info, a Start Date and an End Date. If i've got 2 rows like this:

StartDate EndDate
01/01/2009 03/01/2009
02/01/2009 04/01/2009

I'd want to lookup 02/01/2009 and have it return 2 (02/01/09 falls between the dates on row 1 and the dates on row 2). To give some context, this is an export from a database containing staff holiday dates, and I'd like to be able to see how many people will be on holiday on any given date, given the start and end date of all holiday occurances throughout the year.

What I'm looking to do:

1. Find the first daily weight for the month.
2. Find today's weight.
3. See if today's weight falls within the specified month.
4. Compare the first daily weight of the month with today's weight.

I am able to accomplish #1 with LOOKUP, #2 with LOOKUP, and #4 with IF/THEN. For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how to do #3.

VLOOKUP / INDEX / MATCH Function: Match Data From 2 Independent Sets??

I am trying to match data from 2 independent sets, formatted slightly differently so not sure which function would work best for me. From the attached file, I am trying to match the date and time stamp (in cell A1) with that from the other data (in this example in cell E1) and return the data (from cell F1) to cell C1. So basically any date and time stamp before 04/03/09 04:00 will return a value of 44 (this value should appear, therefore in cells C1 - C30)

Index And / Or Match Formula With Multiple Match Required To Return A Value

Jan 21, 2014

See attached file, "Rate Sample Index-Match Formula".

I need a formula to return the value at the cross section of two (2) lookup values that match. This formula will be input into column D under, "RATE" on the 1st tab, "TEST FILE".

In the 1st tab, "TEST FILE" there are a series of columns as follows;

A = Service
B = From
C = To
D = Rate

In the 2nd tab, "RATES" there is a series of rates with drivers From (green) & To (blue)

The formula needs to do the following;

1. Lookup the "From" value in column B on tab, "TEST FILE" and match to column B2:B59 on tab, "RATES" both highlighted in green
2. Then Lookup the "To" value in column C on tab, "TEST FILE" and match to row C1:BH1 on tab, "RATES" both highlighted in blue
3. Then return the value at the cross section of the match "From" (point 1 above) & "To" (point 2 above) in range C2:BH59

For Example;

The rate From SYD To CBR = 0.33. I have highlighted this in yellow on both tabs to show where the formula needs to lookup the data to return the answer.

Additionally, if we were to add service as an additional lookup match how would this work?

Determining If Datetime Falls Within Start And End Date Times

Sep 25, 2013

I have been using this statement

if(and(c1>=a1:a144,c1<=b1:b144),"yes","no"))

And it just works for the first 2 values c1, c2 and doesn't fit for the others.

The case is i have more than one event at the same video and i need to confirm that no event was taken unless it is between start and end.

Here are some samples:

Start dtime End Dtime Event Dtime
16/09/2013 22:13:34 16/09/2013 22:14:18 16/09/2013 22:13:38
16/09/2013 22:15:57 16/09/2013 22:24:30 16/09/2013 22:16:02
16/09/2013 22:24:30 16/09/2013 22:33:49 16/09/2013 22:17:32
16/09/2013 22:33:53 16/09/2013 22:35:05 16/09/2013 22:19:02
16/09/2013 22:35:05 16/09/2013 22:39:57 16/09/2013 22:20:02

So as you can see there are more than one event between one start and end dtimes.

VLOOKUP / INDEX And MATCH To Return All Values That Match

I have two sheets of data , sheet A and Sheet B.

Sheet B contains a column called "Name" and for each name, and for each name there are corresponding numbers. In sheet A, I have a "list of interest" in column A. What i want to do look through the data in sheetB to find a match from the list of interest and return the corresponding letters, located in column A.

I have filled out the first two rows of results that should be returned as an example.

One idea i had was to put a vlookup formula in each column result 1 to result 6 so i can catch all 6 "Serves" columns from column B, but there may be duplicates in the serve columns and vlookup only reports the first match.

Determine If Date Falls Within A Range For Multiple Unique Lines

May 19, 2014

File A has patients with discharge dates over two years. Each patient may have multiple dates. Example:

Patient Discharge Date
John Smith 7/1/2012
John Smith 10/1/2012
Judge Judy 7/1/2013
Judge Judy 12/1/2013

File B has office visit dates for the patients. Again, each patient has multiple office visits. I need to be able to see which office visits were within 15 days of a discharge date. Example:

Patient Office Visit
John Smith 6/1/2012
John Smith 6/15/2012
John Smith 7/10/2012
Judge Judy 7/20/2013
Judge Judy 12/12/2013

Is there any way to note next to the discharge date that for John Smith the 7/10/2012 office visit was within 15 days of the 7/1/2012 discharge? And the same for Judy with the 12/12/2013 visit?
