I have a cell with both date & time and I need to separate this into 2 separate cells, 1 for the date and 1 for the time. Sample is attached for the before and after formats.

I have the serviceable date of an aircraft delivery set as 'S hh:mm dd-mmm-yy', which is due to being used by an external application in this format. This is entered by the user and I need to be able to extract the date time strings and switch them to dd-mmm-yy hh:mm, excluding the S from the result as a formula in another cell.
I keep getting a #value error or returning the whole string result.
Basically my requirement is to find out the time difference in terms of minutes between two days of time.
For example. the difference between(in minutes) 27/04/2006 10.01 and 29/04/2006 11.02. The reasults i want is in terms of minutes only.
I have a time column (A) that when looked in the cell only shows AM & PM times, but the cell itself (not showing) contains dates too, keeping me from be able to do a sheet wide sort of time or time frame occurrences.
Can I do some thing to sort these cells with their corresponding rows based on time only disregarding dates?
I am trying sort out all rows that in column (A) is time equal to or greater than 4:00 PM OR even maybe sort all rows that column (A) shows a time between 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM. The date in the cell is the problem, I think. Excel 2013
Excel won't take more than 30 cells when using Min or Max function. I am trying to get min & Max of the following:
=min(M3,O3,Q3,S3,U3,W3,Y3,AA3,AC3,AE3,AG3,AI3,AK3,AM3,AO3,AQ3,AS3,AU3,AW3,AY3,BA3,BC3,BE3,BG3,BI3,BK3,BM3,BO3,BQ3,BS3,BU 3,BW3,BY3,CA3,CC3,CE3,CG3,CI3)
Is there an alternate to this? The selection is every alternate cell starting M3, O3 & so on.
Also, All of the above reference columns have date stored in "2002 Aug 02" format. Is there a quick way of selecting the columns automatically & converting it to DD-MMM-YY?
I tried various methods but nothing works unless I manually enter the date. I am looking for an easy way because I have 100's of sheets to fix with 30+ columns. It will be a big and tedious job if I try to create a separate column beside each and then convert using a formula.
After I imported this data, the date and time is in the same column in the format of "mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss" military time. How do I write a VBA code to split up the date and time into two separate columns. One column would only have "mm/dd/yyyy" while the other only have "hh:mm:ss" in military time.
Eventually, I need to extract information from the data by looking for a specific time. I would also plot time vs something.
I don't know if treating it as a string would work, because it would just become a text rather than a time, right?
So I have a workbook that has a range of dates in one column and a corresponding range of times in the column next to it. On a separate sheet I want to return the lowest time&date, and then the maximum time&date. I've tried a few different things but nothing is working.I tried this:
Code:
=MIN(B:B+D:D)
This didn't work for some reason. It did return a time, but it wasn't the lowest. The maximum wasn't even close.
Previously I was just doing the min/max of the date in one cell and then the min/max of the time in a different one, but obviously that didn't work since the time wasn't going off of the maximum date, so it was just showing the lowest time period.
I calculate total labor hours entered into a CRM system and use it for various reports, but it's incredibly inaccurate for the following reasons:
Any labor put in between 6pm EST and 8am EST from Mon-Fri is considered "on call"All labor from Friday 6:01pm - Monday 7:59am is considered "on call"Labor entered on a company recognized holiday is considered "on call"Not every employee takes call
So, what I'm trying to do is take the total labor and pull out only the hours entered outside of the criteria above. If it were simply based on time during the week, i'd be fine, but I have no clue how to do everything else.
In the end, my new labor hours would be split into "Business Hrs. Labor" and "On Call" labor.
I have 2 fields formatted like this:
1) Date: "30/10/2013"
2) Time: "10:56:39:000"
I need it to read/merge into: "30/10/2013 10:56:39:000" and then be able to be able to be converted intp seconds as a UTC Unix epoch example formula =(A1-25569)*86400.
In my Workbook, Sheet 1 i have Cells B2, C2, D2, H2 all with Name, Age, M/F and Fastest time,
on Sheet 3 i have Cells A4, B4 with Under 20 Male and Time.
What i want to know is how do i go about searching the Age and M/F cells and printing the names of the people who fit the criteria ( for under 20 male it would be males aged 16, 17, 18 and 19) into A4 and their time into B4
to make it worse i want to order the times/names in fastest to slowest time .
i can get half way there but i cant seem to get the formula to pick up on >=16 and
I have an spreadsheet that is monitoring the productivity of agents, as well as the time that it takes to complete each task. My workforce keeps time as .50 = 30 minutes. So 7 and half hours is actually 7.5. Agents are putting the actual time of it took such as 15 minutes however I would like to insert a formula that will convert this for me manually. I know I could give them a conversion sheet, but it took quite a while to get them to actually be able to work in excel. So I would like to add this formula.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a table that I've imported into excel. Below are 2 samples of the information in the cells..
A1 = T(APPLICANT_1_RECENT_PROPERTY_TYPE_DESCRIPTION)/V(Unspecified)
A2 = T(APPLICANT_1_RECENT_PROPERTY_TITLE)/V(U)
Basically I would like to separate into 3 columns as such
From A1;
B1 = APPLICANT_1_
C1 = RECENT_PROPERTY_TYPE_DESCRIPTION
D1 = Unspecified
From A2;
B2 = APPLICANT_1_
C2 = RECENT_PROPERTY_TITLE
D2 = U
When Importing I can't use delimited or fixed width. I can do this with Find and Replace and copying cells, but thought there might be a more savvy way to do this.
why is that I have the same time value but with different conversion results?
I have values in column A10:A26 with an average time of 00:00:38 result with converted value of 7052.04.
When I type 00:00:38 in Column A30, it gives me a result of 7139.37...
Why do I have different conversion results knowing that I have the same time of 00:00:38?
I Have attached a sample workbook.
I need a formula that will calc the following: using Excel XP
#MIN.

I have 4 columns:
A B C D
0:00 1:17 56.15 0.06
Column A is in hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds
Column B is in hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds
Column C is in seconds.milliseconds
Column D is in hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds
I would like to represent all these columsn in this format:
hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds
Is there a simple formula I can use? I was looking at the CONVERT function, but it doesn't appear to work for milliseconds.
I am struggling with the calculation of time in excel and cannot find a reliable solution for it using formulas. The reason is, excel does not display negative time values, unless one formats the results as text. This is no good, as I need to add up those results and that's something excel cannot do with values formatted as text.
Therefore I am aiming to do just that by using a macro. The values in columns I & J should simply be converted and pasted into columns U and V respectively (see attachment). For example 200 minutes should appear as 03:20 [hh:mm]. Accordingly, -200 minutes = -03:20 [hh:mm]
I have written a formula to convert military time to 12-hour format.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I am converting a time from Hours/Minutes to Hours/Tenths, Excel is not converting it consitantely. EXAMPLE: 1:15 = 1.25. When I format the cell to present only one place past the decimal point, sometimes the cell will round up to 1.3, and other times it will round down to 1.2. What am I missing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this Spreadsheet that has different country, Is it possible that it will auto convert the time into PHT Time (GMT +8) which is in Column A.
For example:
Its 3PM (Cell G1) in Bhutan. I want it to be converted in GMT +8
So therefore the time for GMT+8 will be 5PM and will be shown in Cell A1.
Also there will be an automated identifier in Column B that will identify if that time is for morning shift or night shift.
The morning shift is 12PM til 8PM
While the night shift is 8PM til 11AM.
I have a large dataset where the first column is date and time i.e. "20/01/2005 03:41:06" and I want to delete certain rows based on the times. I have already tried playing about with macro's but failed fairly spectacularly so far. I have code from someone else to delete cells if the value equals a certain time but this doesn't work as the cell contains the date too.
I have already recorded one macro to reformat the data to as the software return 10 timestamped samples per hour and I want 8 i.e. every three hours so there is constant separation for statistical purposes. Both the macros are shown below so you can see what I have.
Ideally I would like to replace the line - If (r.Cells(n, 1) = TimeValue("22:41:06")) ............ - with one that reads - If (r.Cells(n, 1) CONTAINS TimeValue........ - but I don't know if that is possible? If not is there a way to separate the time from the date into 2 columns and then I can delete rows based on the time column using the code below? .......
if it is possible to convert Gregorian date into Islamic date by using a formula or VB code in excel? If yes, what is it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to convert numbers from three cells into a date in one cell. I tried using the =DATE function, but it did not work. In A1, B1, C1, I have 1, 15, 2002. I would like cell D1 to take the info from the preceeding three cells and display "January 15, 2002"
Presently, I have A1...C1 formatted for "General." D1 is formatted for "Date." Yet I get the answer "August 23, 1907" (or 2792 as 'General').

I'm trying to convert a number from word to a number in excel. Example: 10-12 input in word to a cell in excel. Unfortunately it treats it as a date an gives me 39002. I want to be able to use both numbers and add them together to get -2 not 39002. How to format the excel spreadsheets in order to complete this calculation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have come across an issue and I am not sure what the best way is to achieve my goal or if it's even possible. We are importing dates that are in IBM DB2 Date format. Example: the date is imported as 1060318(C/YY/MM/DD), which is is actually 2006 March 18th. I would like to convert 1060318 to something that Excel can format into March 18th 2006.
I have only one column (A) with thousands of cell entries. Each Cell contains a date and time. (x/xx/xxxx 12:34:56)
For example, Cell A1 = 1/24/13 18:45:22
I want the new cells to only have the time, but have the seconds removed (and not simply hide the seconds). This is because I'll need to run Conditional Formatting to find every cell with a similar time - but I only need similar times within the same minute...it doesn't matter if the seconds are off.
The new cell should just be A1 = 18:45
The real reason I need this is because I need to find every entry that has the same time (with hour and minutes), which I figure I'd use conditional formatting for. My problem is that many entries have the same time but the seconds are off.
Example:
1/22/13 12:23:11
1/24/13 18:45:22
1/24/13 18:45:36
1/26/13 22:33:41
In this example, I'd want Conditional Formatting to highlight cell A2 and A3 because they have the same time of 18:45 (not including the seconds). I figured the best way to go about this would be to remove the date and remove the seconds, and run the search that way. However, any way to accomplish goal without deleting the date and seconds would be just as useful.
