Averaging Out Data From A DATEDIF Formula
Apr 10, 2008Im going insane trying to figure out how to Average out the data i've accumulated with the DATEDIF Formula...Can anyone please clarify if this is even possible ??
Here's the situation...
I've got a range of data that has been calculated by using the DATEDIF Function (below):

Mar 24, 2014I am creating a report and I am using the following Formula with condition.
(IN Q2 in the file attached)
=IF(P2="","Enter New to IMP check Date",DATEDIF(P2,C2,"d"))
Where in P2 is the START Date and C2End date.
P2 = 01 Jan 13
C2 = 10 Mar 14
When I apply the DATEIF formula its ignoring the year differ ace and give a result of 8 days not sure whats wrong here as the "Y" & "M" function works correctly and give proper result.

It doesn't work, I have found. It's for a spreadsheet that tracks Paid Time Off which which accrues at a different rate depending on how long the employee has worked for the organization. I want to use the VLOOKUP table to list the 10 different accrual rates and hoped that the DATEDIF function could produce one of 10 results that would match the values in the first column of the table.

Oct 6, 2005I am calculating the length of time someone has worked for the company:
Column; Row A1,
Hire Date MM/DD/YYYY
Column; Row B1,
=DATEDIF(A1,NOW(),"y") & " years, " & DATEDIF(A1,NOW(),"ym") & " months, " & DATEDIF(A1,NOW(),"md") & " days"
Which gives me a result like: "4 years, 5 months, 10 days"
I want to be able to average the results from column B, thereby producing the average "years, months, and days" worked. Just not sure how to get there.

Nov 18, 2009I have several cells that I use the "DATEDIF" function to added dates and display as, "1 M 2 D". I need to add the multiple results to get an sum of all of them.
Column C1 is the start date.
Column C2 is the finish date.
Column C3 is a separate start date.
Column C4 is a separate finish date.
I used the following formula to get the month/day count for each separate start/finish dates: =DATEDIF(C1,C2,"M")&"M"&DATEDIF(C1,C2,"MD")&"D". Both give me the result I need. I have blown a gasket trying to add all the start/finish into a single Month/Day number. Sample result should look like this:......

Jan 5, 2014I have a DATEDIF column which I have used to calculate the age of a group of people from their dates of birth. This has produced results in cells which look like this: Age is 44 years, 1 Months and 28 Days
Where I am stuck is that I need to calculate the average of this column so I get the average of the total group. Is this possible?

May 11, 2006I am trying to subtract two dates to find out whether an invoice is 6 months past due (regardless of number of days). I use DATEDIF in my formula and it works fine until now. It seems the function takes number of days into account and won't return the desire result when there are 31 days. I want to find out whether the number of months between two date are greater than or equal to 6 months without considering the number of days. I am attaching a sample worksheet for better explanation. As you can see, October is not working right.

20/09/99 to 01/02/02 is 2.33333333 years. I can use the DATEDIF function to get 2 years 4 months as the result but for the calc I'm doing I need it in the format of 2.33333333. Thinking I just need to tweak the DATEDIF a bit but just can't work it out!
Datedif But For Date In Future And To Return Formatted Time Value
Aug 4, 2009I need to calculate the difference in Years, Months and Days between:
Date 1 = TODAY()
Date 2 = 4 years after a date in cell A1, which will always be earlier than today's date
(A bit of backround - I have certain risk management procedures that have a lifespan of 4 years. I want to calculate the time between now and 4 years after the date the procedure was completed, essentially to see how long before they have to be redone).
So far I have:
=DATEDIF(A1+4,TODAY(),"y")&"y "&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"ym")&"m "&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"md")&"d"
But that returns #NUM!.
Removing the +4 obviously just calculated the difference between the date in A1 and today, but I need the date in A1 PLUS 4 years and today.
I have also tried:
=(DATE(YEAR(A1)+4,MONTH(A1),DAY(A1))-TODAY())/365.25
which works in theory, however:
a) no consideration for leap years
b) does not return nY, nM, nD - only the decimal.
However I would be happy to use this method if I could convert it to Years Months Days.
Last Row Formula Not Working?
Dec 29, 2011I have a problem with the code below. The code pastes values into column c, depending on values in Column A.
The problem is that, at the end I want it to go to column d and execute the R1C1 formula, but the lastrow1 variable is always set to 1 ( I went through the code pressing F8) so the formula won't go down the column.

Formula Working For One Column But Not Others?
Jan 23, 2014I currently have a workbook (Unconfirmed Application Audit 02) which is the result of an audit of applications on PCs. I have come up with a macro which will insert new columns into the sheet and fill those columns with data, should the application listed, have a replacement specified in the AppRM file. The macro works fine for column G, in that it pulls through the new software manufacturer name but column H should pull through the new product name and I should display the new product version and they don't. To me, it looks like the exact same formula in each column apart from the column reference to get the information from.

Jan 5, 2013I have a Age calculating formula in an excell cell, which calculates the age as on another date.
The forumala is =IF(E4="","",IF($C$1="","",ROUNDDOWN(($C$1-E4)/365,0))) where E4 is the date of birth and C1 is the date in which I want the age calculated to be.
The above formula works very well on my computer, but does not on any other computer. If I access it from my sent items or from a shared drive, it works perfectly on mine, but not on any other computer!!! I get a #value error message on all other computers.
I have tried the foll:
If i enter =ISNUMBER(C1) where the age has to be calculated, I get #Name?
If I enter =ISNUMBER(E4), i get TRUE
The above is on the sheet where it does not work ( on others computer ) and i get TRUE for both on mine. Also both have the same date formats and same time zones...

Jan 19, 2009I am trying to create a formula to work out the last working day of each month, but I can't come up with anything that is less than the 1,024 formula limit. I am using a UK calendar so the only two holidays to effect the last working day of the month will be Easter and the last Monday in May.
This is the formula I am using which takes account of Easter, the checking for the last Monday in May is simple enough in another column, but I would rather keep it in one column, just wondering whether there is a simpler way of doing this.
A1 is a specified date and then I would like to work out the last working day of the month, on a new row, for up to the next 50 years....

Nov 19, 2009I have a column of numbers ranging from 0000-9999. They are not in order and multiple numbers are used more than once. I would like to know how many times the numbers in the range of 4000-4999 appear. I am trying to use the formula =COUNTIF(F4:F500,"=4????") or =COUNTIF(F4:F500,"=4*") but neither are working. If I do a single number like this =COUNTIF(F4:F500,"=41420"), it will count them for me.

Calculating Formula Not Working Properly
Nov 15, 2008I am trying to work out an excel workbook for calculating family recipes. I have gotten most of it figured out but am having a problem with one thing. When the serving size of an item is 8 oz & the recipe calls for 14.5 oz the only way I can get it to work properly is to enter 1.75 in the serving size.
But I would like (actually need) to be able to enter the 14.5 and have it calculate the calories correctly - since sometimes the amount to be added to the recipe may be 15 ounces and the serving size is 8 ounces etc....
Multi-cel Array Formula Not Working
Jun 21, 2009See attached sample workbook. Row 37 current has formulas between columns AQ and IP that return a value 2 or 4. Conditional formatting on these cells then gives them an appropriate colour.
Due to the large number of cells involved, I wanted to use a multi-cell array formula instead. I have attempted this on row 50 which should give the same results, but as you will see this is not happening.
