Since some of the times cross midnight, I use the formula J3=IF(I3>H3,I3-H3,1+I3-H3) where I is the end time and H is the start time (format hh:mm). This part works fine, however when I sum column J and change my format to Time 37:38:00 (since it is over 24 hrs), it returns a large number of 2234:48:39 which should be closer to 223:00:00.

(For example, A1=1 and B1=2, A2=1 and B2=2, etc.)
I've tried =COUNTIFS(A1:A180, (B1:B180)+1) and =COUNTIFS(A1:A180, "="&(B1:B180)+1) with no luck.
(It gives me a value of zero, but I can tell just by looking at the numbers that there should be at least a few times when this event occurs.)
I'm comparing budgeted dollars vs. actual dollars spent by month. So row 10 has 13 columns (column A is title and then B-M is Jan-Dec) with each cell containing a budgeted dollar amount. Row 26 is same setup but contains actual dollars spent for those months. I want to highlight any cells in row 26 that are greater than the same cell in row 10. So if H26 is $1,000 and H10 is $500, I want H26 to be highlighted in red. How can I do this without having to conditionally format each individual cell as I can't seem to make this work with a cell range in Conditional Formatting?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the following on a spreadsheet that keeps track of when student work is handed in and calculates how many days late it is so a penalty mark can be given.
A1= User entered value : a fixed submission date that a piece of work is due to be handed in on.
A2 = User entered value : The date entered if work is handed in on time or early
A3 = User entered value : The date the work was handed in if late
A4 = User entered value : The date the piece of work is due to be handed in if an extension has been granted
A5 = Calculated value : How many days late a piece of work is
Essentially I want the calculation in A5 to reflect how many days late a piece of work is. SUM(A3-A1) would do this of course. If the work is early or on time, A2 is ignored.
Sometimes however students have permission to hand work in late, in which case another calculation is needed to work out how many (if any) days over their extension date (A4) their work is. How do I combine these two calculations into the same cell, so that if A3 is empty it checks A4 to see if the student has an extension date and then returns a 'days late' value if applicable?
I am working on a Golf League score sheet, and each week there may be a different amount of players that play. I have a weekly worksheet (attached) that contains the full list of golfers that had played that week and I only want to sort the columns for those golfers who have a score greater than 0 (this would be the ones who played that week). You can see that in week 1 I had more players than in week 2. So in my weekly worksheet I sort these sub grids by Score first. However I ONLY want to sort the rows that have a score greater than 0. Can this be done in VBA or am I stuck doing this manually every week?

I have to make a table that shows that a if someone purchases
less than 5 items they receive no discount
5-10 items they receive 2% discount
11-20 items they receive 5% discount
21-50 items they receive 8% discount
over 50 items they receive 10%
and it has to be done in a way that the discount rate can be calculated using Vlookup I am struggling to find the best way to write this table. i tried numbering 1 to 50 and writing the corresponding discount rate in the second column but this looks untidy and can't calculate greater than 50 as i am not sure how to write it in the cell so it reads as >50 and not just 50.

I have an Workbook where on Sheet one it shows a date of a sold item in Column AH. On sheet two Column AG references sheet 1 Column AH. On sheet 2 I need it to delete the row if the date is greater than 1/0/00 ( which is an empty cell in sheet 1, but for some reason shows it as "1/0/00"). Starting in cell F3, if Column F is greater than or equal to zero, delete the entire row and continue deleting rows until Column A has contents in it. Then go to Column F in that same row that had contents in Column A, if the contents in that row of Column F are greater than or equal to zero, delete the entire row and continue deleting rows until Column A has contents in it. Persist with this pattern until every row in Column F has been checked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a project that adds shoes to a re-order list, and a receipt automatically when they are 'purchased'.
The re-order list is great as the shoes 'purchased' are supposed to be added one after another, my problem being that the receipt is for a customer.
Once the shoes 'purchased' are added to the receipt it can be printed. I then need to be able to clear the rows with values greater than 0 so that I can start with a new customer, on a clean receipt. I need it to check starting from row "A3" so that my receipt format is not messed up, and for it to finish leaving 2 blank rows so that my other macros still work.
I would like to use a macro to clear the rows to make it easier for the user.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be very greatfull and if you require the document I can arrange for it to be sent via e-mail.
I have spreadsheet with different 100s of columns of dates with 600 rows. The first row identifies which zone the data belongs to (North, South, East, West. NE, SW, SW1, etc...)
I want to write a formula to check how many dates in each column fall in 2015 or later years; This can be accomplished by writing a countifs formula.
Where it gets complicated is once i filter on the Zones;
I want the formula to give me the desired result - count of all CELLS where the year is 2015 or greater - WITH FILTERS ON.
I stumbled upon following sumproduct formula that gives count for visible cells, however when i apply the date criteria, i get incorrect result -

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 lists of manually entered values where the values in each row are related. They are related in the sense that if the difference between them is equal to or less than, a given amount then the cell containing one value is colored Blue. e.g.
COl A holds Value x while COl B holds value y. I need to check which value is entered in columns A and B and if a given difference or greater exists colour the cell in COl B. For example the relationship relevant to a COL A value of 21.0 is 11.0.
So, I enter the following;

I'm trying to find the difference two cells within a row to another row.
I'm using time values i.e 17:07 and 14:53 and in the third cell I'd like to get a result that shows me a plus/minus of the differences.
I know by looking what math to apply to that particular cell. Is there a way to do a formula to get the results no matter if they are plus or minus. without having to change the formula back and for on if i know it'll be increasing or decreasing?
I want to compare and output the differences in text in 2 cells.
ie. Cell A1 has a long string of text as does Cell A2 but slightly different, I want to see exactly what the differences are.
Is there a formula I can use?

What I need for it to do is delete the cell contents if '_y-600_z-.jpg' is anywhere in the string. I have made a spreadsheet that essentially works out a cost dependant on which department the work was completed in.
I have a seperate tab with the department names in column A and the charge rates in column B
On the second tab I have a spreadsheet that has columns A and B for hours used and material cost.
The third column is the dept name
The 4th column is the variable charge rate which changes dependant on which department is put in colum 3
The 5th Column is the total cost.
In the 5th column I have this formulae:
=VLOOKUP(F7,'Variable Costs'!A3:B16,2,FALSE)
This work fine.
However, the spreadsheet has about 200 entries per week and all the cells in column 4 and 5 are showing "#N/A" becuase there are no values for them to work with.
I don't like seeing this and normally will use the "IF" function to say that if column A and B are greater than 0 then do the sum, if not show "0"
This for some reason doesn't work with VLOOKUP. Not the way I am using it anyway
