Count Cells Containing Dates (greater Than 2014) Based On Filtered Cells
Jun 24, 2014
I have spreadsheet with different 100s of columns of dates with 600 rows. The first row identifies which zone the data belongs to (North, South, East, West. NE, SW, SW1, etc...)
I want to write a formula to check how many dates in each column fall in 2015 or later years; This can be accomplished by writing a countifs formula.
Where it gets complicated is once i filter on the Zones;
I want the formula to give me the desired result - count of all CELLS where the year is 2015 or greater - WITH FILTERS ON.
I stumbled upon following sumproduct formula that gives count for visible cells, however when i apply the date criteria, i get incorrect result -
=SUBTOTAL(2,A2:A100) can be used in combination with any other formula so that when the data is filtered using autofilter it will only count values greater than zero.
I have attached a worksheet with the example.
In the attached workbook subtotal formulas are used in Row1 for sum and row 2 for count. When the data is filtered using code "DUP" in column D, the subtotal in cell C2 is "4", whereas in the specified range there is a positive value in only 1 cell that is $1050 in cell C99.
Is there some combination that can be used with SUBTOTAL formula so that it will only count values greater than zero when data is filtered.
After I filter for values in Columns(C), I want to count values in Columns(D). When I filter data, I noticed I can manually select the filtered cell range (i.e. Columns(D)) and at the bottom in the Status Bar it will give the correct count. If I cursor over that status bar count it will display "Number of selected cells that contain data." However, I cannot seem to figure out how to get vba to select just the filtered cells selected in that range and count them only and correctly... it instead counts all the values to the last cell in the filtered range.
For example 1) let's say I have a Range("D1:D120') and there are 20 cells containing data in that range.
2) I filter Columns(C) resulting in 10 rows and the rows are 2, 3, 20, 22, 27, 30, 37, 41, 56, 60. Of those 10 rows, there are only 2 cells containing data (let's say cell D20 and cell D37).
3) Now in reality, cells in Range("D2:D60") actually contain 10 cells with values, but since we filtered on columns(C) values... Columns(D) only shows 2 values.
...... here is my problem: 4) If I manually select the filtered range, the status bar "Count" value will correctly sum as "2." But if I code VBA or even "Record a macro code" (obviously incorreclty on my part), it will return a value of 10 for the range of D2:D60 and not on the visible filtered value which is "2."
I'm trying to count all cells in a row after the last number that was greater than 0. See my example spreadsheet. I have put the answers that it should be in to show what I'm after.
I'm trying to create a formula (in Sheet 1) that will return the most recent number of cells containing a value (i.e. not empty) in Sheet 2 Range AD2:A367 greater than zero.
I've tried using COUNTIF but that only adds the individual values, it doesn't 'start from zero again' when a zero value appears.
Currently, I am using countifs to count data within a specific range if it meets a criteria. Now I want to add to the formula. I need to count the cells within the specific range meeting the existing criteria I already have but only if one cell is greater than another cell.
This is what I currently have: =COUNTIFS(Report!$F$4:$F$1048576,">=8/1/2013",Report!$F$4:$F$1048576,"=8/1/2013",Report!$F$4:$F$1048576,"
Column AH2:AH367 represents the current year and contains values from Jan 1 to Dec 31 inclusive, some of which are zero and future values are blank. Column AG2:AG367 represents last year and contains the same and all cells have a value (some are zero).
The date column is A2:A367 (the columns in between are all the years prior to 2013).
I need a formula that counts the total number of cells with a value greater than zero for the range AG2:AG367 up to and including today's date to be returned in cell A1 of Sheet 1.
Its a training list, and I want to count the number of staff with valid training dates, I want to keep invalid dates as a reminder and I also have text N/A to disregard. Have used an IF function array but there are approx 33 column entries I want to add and using array function limits the amount of formula entries up to column 24.
Would be much easier if I used data validation to kick out the invalid date entries but we want to keep them if possible.
I want a unique count of sequences in a different for that class only if that particular row in 'A' or 'B' is populated. The result set should be as follows:
ClassAB 1032 1511 2012
Can this be achieved through a formula?
I have a yearly running log (attached). At the bottom in cell [B88] I would like to develop a formula that gives me the number of times I ran in that specific month. Dates are in Column A and running distances are in Column B. If a distance is zero, I don't want to count it. I have attempted to solve this using the =COUNTIFS formula, but I am not able to structure it properly. Maybe =COUNTIFS is not what I should be using.
i want to could count the cells of F13:F50 only if the dates of B13:50 are between the two dates i have entered in C1 and E1. I have completed one section of this which counts the dates of B13:50 if they are between the two entered in C1 and E1: =SUMPRODUCT(('1'!B13:B211>=C1)*('1'!B13:B211<=E1)) i just cant get it to work with the second set.
I'm trying to create a sickness record book for colleagues at work, so we can monitor their absense accoridingley. I am trying to create a spreadsheet that will do the following:
Look at the dates that are over 12 months and not count those in the total occurances countCheck the dates that someones works and compare this to the absense date and automatically calculate the total time off Are these points possible or am I wishful thinking? Just I have 60 people in a team and its hard doing them all in one go, but would be good if there is a way of it automatically doing this.
I have a spreadsheet that contains dates in column A, the number of rows between each date can vary. Selecting a cell with a date in will activate a checklist in the form of a UserForm.
I am trying to create a macro that will count the number of rows from one cell with a date, to the next cell with a date, and then resize the selection for printing.
So far I have this;
Code: Sub test() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Set InitialCell = ActiveCell
....
My problem with this code is that when it reselects the InitialCell, the UserForm is reactivated. Is there a way to achieve the same results without having to reselect the InitialCell, and therefore the UserForm wont pop up? I tried adding the Unload UserForm1 line but it doesnt have any affect, the form still pops up.
I have a formula '= COUNTIF(A1:A5,"<"&TODAY())' that counts the number of expired dates in one column. I want to include a second condition to this formula that will check if another column of dates are blank then they should not be counted. So if for example a1:a2 have expired dates, and b1:b2 have both got dates then they should be included in the count.
Usually if I filter and perform some kind of operation on the cells displayed by the filter it is only these cells affected. For example, if I run a filter that shows 10 rows and I Paste a value into say, Column A, of all 10 Rows then remove the filter and look through all my rows, only the 10 cells displayed during the filter contain whatever I Pasted in.
However, sometimes when I do this many rows that were not displayed as part of the filter are affected. For example, I Paste something into my 10 filtered Rows and after removing my filter I find that whatever was Pasted into the 10 cells is now in 200 cells.
How can I be sure that any changes I make to a set of filtered cells are ONLY applied to those cells?
1. Start Date (Col. C) - assign date to respective position based on first cell that contains value greater than 0 or "". eg. at first cell with 1 in it, looks up to row 4 and assigns date include in that cell in same column.
2. End Date (Col. D) - assigns date based on last cell with value greater than 0 or ""....
I am trying to get spreadsheet cells to change colour relating to arrival and departure dates. I also need the cells to be assigned value so I can use them to calculate cost based on number of nights, eg arrive Sept 10 dept Sept 15 = 5 nights. I can then use this 5 to multiply out costs.
I have attached an example of what I am trying to achieve.
I have searched the forum and saw similar questions but I couldnt apply them.
I am able to quite easily count the number of specific values in a cell after the table has been filtered. However, the problem I have run into is that some times the data needs to be placed into the spreadsheet twice (or to be more specific the same subject is associated with several unique data points).
What I need: some way to count the instance of some give value in column D only once based on the presence of a duplicate (unique) identifier in column C. However, when I filter the entire database, it must count *only* the filtered cells and not the hidden cells as well.
Picture: Column C Column D 111111 M 111111 M 111111 M
....
Currently calculates: M=9, F=2
Right now it incorrectly states there are 9 "M" from column D when it really should be 5 since 3 are duplicate values. My main difficulty is making sure this continues to work after I filter the entire sheet (say column ZZ) and have a bunch of hidden cells.
Equation currently using to count only filtered values (in this case "males" and "females"): ="M = " & SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D3:D13,ROW(D3:D13)-MIN(ROW(D3:D13)),,1))*(D3:D13="M"))
I have dates in Column D (mm/dd/yyyy). I'm trying to write a macro to compare the date in any cell in Column D to the current date. Then, if the date in that cell is within a month of the current date, color it red. If the date is within two months, color it orange. Etc, for up to six months. I've read up a little on dates in VBA, but I'm pretty lost.
How to count entries based on two columns (example shown) In column D, I want to print the counts in column D, based on entries in column A(Name) and column C(Num). How can I achieve it as one liner in excel? SUMPRODUCT or COUNTIF?
Name ID Num COUNT Control C 260 2 Control C 260 2 Test C 260 2 Test C 260 2 Control C 261 3 Control C 261 3 Control C 261 3 Test C 261 2 Test C 261 2 Control C 262 3 Control C 262 3 Control C 262 3 Test C 262 3 Test C 262 3 Test C 262 3
I have a sheet where i need to highlight cells C3:C140 based on approaching dates. The cells C3:C140 contain dates generated from another file and would be random approaching dates.
The conditions are
1) Approaching Weekends (Sat and Sun) = always turn red 2) 3 days after today = orange 3) 2 days after today = dark orange 4) Other days = light orange
I want to create a monthly timesheet which contains 9 columns for (Date, Day, Project no., Activity, Time In, Time Out, Total Hours, OT Hours, Remarks)
I have used IF Function to calculate Total Hours & OT hours automatically. Time IN & Time OUT, Project No., will be entered manually on daily basis.
Weekday function is used in the Day column to return the corresponding day of the date in the Date column.
Name of the Month and Year will be manually entered in the designated cells I3 and I4 respectively.
Now the solution I am looking for is, the dates should be automatically entered in the Date column (in cells A8 to A38) based on the Month & Year entered in cells I3 & I4. Dates of the corresponding month of the year should only be filled in. (If a month is not having 29, 30 or 31st day, the corresponding cells should be left blank. i.e. nothing should be displayed in the corresponding cells). I am looking for some sort of formula to enter in the cells of Date column (A8 to A38) achieve this. I have searched the forum and could not find anything which could at least give me an idea about the kind of function or formula to be used.
Attached here is the time sheet I am trying to create.
I have an issue log containing (separate) columns with dates, numbers and text.
One column (A) has the status (open/in progress/pending/closed/re-opened) One column (B) has raise dates One column (C) has close dates One column (D) has the type of track (this is text, 3 types)
I want to count the amount of cells that have a close date before date x, given they are open (in Column A), and for a specific track (column D).
After creating a new sheet with a date range in one column encompassing all dates that occur in my column B & C, I tried to come up with a formula to count how many cells, and consequently how many issues, were open (or closed) on a particular date per track and as a whole.
So for instance; count cells in column C if Column C is before date 101112 and Column A is open and column D is "Build".
After trying COUNTIF and SUMPRODUCT the conclusion is I can't get it right.
