Drop Decimal But Keep Ending Zeros

May 12, 2009

Here's my problem. I need a formula to take the decimals out of a column but keep ending zeros. I have tried find/replace & several formulas but nothing seems to be working. Here is an example of the numbers in the column and the end result I need.

9.66 966
0.50 050
13.09 1309
309.98 30998

Keeping Ending Zeros In Cells Formatted For Text Or General?

Nov 14, 2012

Is it possible to keep ending zeros in cells that are formatted for Text or General?

I have a column with numbers like the following: 264400

I need to format this number for three decimals so it will look like the following: 264.400

I need the column to be formatted for either Text or General. Currency breaks a system.

Show Zeros After Decimal

Jun 25, 2009

I have a list of numbers:

21.20151242
28.012224

etc....

I want to round/truncate them as if it were currency and add "/month" to them

so the resulting column would be:

21.20/month
28.01/month

everytime I truncate to two digits and add the text it cuts off the final zero:

21.2/month

how do I do this?

Decimal Format With No Trailing Zeros

Jan 13, 2009

I need to never have a trailing zero be displayed but still have decimals displayed (we can use up to 3 digits for the example) Here's a list of test cases

Value______Display
1.234567___1.235
1.234______1.234
1.23_______1.23
1.230______1.23
1.2________1.2
1.200______1.2
1.0________1
1.000______1
1.020______1.02
1.0002_____1
0__________0
0.001______0.001
0.0001_____0

The only time I want to see a 0 is when the answer is 0 (or rounded to 0) or when 0 is required in the middle. This is for patient safety if you are curious. 2.0 when printed out or written by hand can be mistakenly read as "20" in the heat of things, thus 2.0 should be written/printed as "2" (no decimal on the end) not as "2." even, just "2"

Add X Decimal Places To Numbers But Not Zeros

May 24, 2008

I have a column of numbers with one decimal point and some blank entries too. I need to convert all the numbers (including the zeros, but not the blanks) to two decimal points. Any idea on how this can be done?

Examples: 0.1 needs to become 0.10, 0 needs to stay 0, a Blank cell needs to remain Blank.

Copying Decimal Values To Different Cells With Leading / Trailing Zeros?

Jan 28, 2013

I have 4 columns (and a couple of other text columns) that are formatted as decimal with 6 dicimal points.

I need to create a text file with lines that are 80 bytes each from the spreadsheet - no spaces inbetween each of the characters.

The issue I am having is trying to format the 4 decimal point columns to be fixed numbers and retain the leading or trailing zeros to do a concatenation with the other columns.

Just an example of some what some of the values look like on my spreadsheet:

.123456 | .123450 | .012345 | .012340

Essentially when I'm all said and done, I would like the row to look like "text123456123450012345012340text"

I tried to format 4 new columns as general and use a "=right(cell,6)" and that worked pretty well for the cells that have leading zeros, but for the cells that have trailing zeros, it doesn't seem to pick up the zero. I tried to use a "=mid(cell,2,6)" but that didn't work either.

Filter Zeros From Drop Down List

Jun 25, 2008

I have a table that uses vlookup on its bottom row to pull data on a person that the user selects from a drop down list. I am trying to get it so after that a second list is produced in dropdown form that allows the user to select the data pulled about the person.

The data pulled on the person is very dynamic and dependent on other stuff the person has selected. For example the third value on tom could be anything from 1, 5, or "". I am not sure if this is why "Ignore Blanks" isn't working.

It is possible by the way i have everything set up for me to make any result I do not want to show up to display as 0 or any other value besides 1/2/5/7. Is there a way filter out the zeros so my drop down isn't riddled with blanks?

Suppress Zeros In A Pivot Table (search Out Any Zeros And Replace With A Blank Cell)

Oct 12, 2009

with the data in the attached sheet, I create several different pivot tables that need show the count of the information in the columns M:DU. My issue is that the data is sent to me from a third party and the columns contain zeros that cause the counts to inflate.

What I would like to be able to do is run a macro that will search out any zeros in M:DU and replace them with a blank cell.

Unfortunately the number of rows increases with every monthly reporting cycle so the macro would need to be able to accommodate for that.

Imaginary Zeros In Formulas Vs. Real Zeros

Nov 7, 2009

I’ve created a formula for this statistic and I’m happy with the results. Because I’m working with formulas, my only problem is the unwanted zeros. How do I hide zeros that show up automatically (i.e. #3 [blank] and Nov 09-June 10)? I can hide the numbers, but if I enter a zero to one of my future statistics it will not appear and I don’t want that to happen. Is there a way to hide those automatic zeros without affecting my real zeros?

Paste Two Decimal Number In Excel Without Extra Decimal Places Appearing

Aug 13, 2009

I have a vba macro that takes data from one workbook and pastes it into another workbook. In doing this I have declared a few variables of type single (I only need two decimal precision). However, when I copy the values from the cells on the source workbook and paste them into the target workbook, the numbers end up having 12 decimal places. Ultimately, this extra precision causes my totals to be off by .01 or more after a while. I have tried rounding the number as I pull it off the source workbook into the variable, but that didn't matter. How do I solve this problem? Code for pulling data from source workbook:...

Convert Or Format Decimal To X Digits Without Decimal Point

Aug 8, 2008

I am trying to create a unique sample code by putting together the values of other cells that a user will input. It's all working well apart from the last part, where I am trying to include a decimal number. I want the decimal number to appear without the central "." and in a four digit format. e.g. 2.5 would appear as 0250, 14.25 would appear as 1425. This is the formlua I am using currently:

=IF(ISBLANK(B4),"",IF(LEFT(C4,1)="w",(B4&"-"&TEXT(F4,"YYMMDD")&C4&TEXT(G4,"HHMM")),(B4&"-"&TEXT(F4,"YYMMDD")&C4&LEFT(TEXT(H4,"00"),2)&RIGHT(TEXT(H4,"00"),2))))

However, where the value of H4 is 2.5, I am getting a result of 0303 (I've put this part in bold). I have attached a small spreadsheet to aid understanding.

Ending Spreadsheet Without Blanks

Oct 23, 2009

After the last line of data, I do not want ton's of blank columns. I know you can scroll down with your mouse to see more columns, but after I run my VBA script, there is a good 1200 blank rows below the last data row.

Is there a VBA line to say end after last row containing data.

Ex. I have 335 rows of data. So there should be like 350 rows total (with a few blanks preferably none or 1, but not sure how hard this is) instead of 1500 total.

Reason I ask is that for some strange reason a program I use is pulling in those extra blank lines which is screwing up my import job.

Find Formulas Ending With Plus Or Minus X

Jul 11, 2007

I have many regularly used workbooks with financial data in them. Many times the financial data needs to be adjusted due to rounding issues. To do this I add a +1 or -1 or sometimes it is in decimal form +/- .1 Also the number "1" is not always (but almost always) used. There are some circumstances where I may add + 2 or +6 or any small number to the end of a formula.

My problem is that when I use the file again after making these changes, I am wanting to remove the "adjustments" I have made to the formulas. Sometimes a green triangle will appear in my cell telling me the formula does not match that of other near-by cells, and that is good, but it is not consistent enough to find them all, or even most of them.

What I am wanting is a macro I can run that will identify any cell with these "adjustments" I have added to them and I will then go in and delete the +/- 1 or whatever the number is. I can easily do a Find "+1" for the entire workbook, it is the range of possible numbers that is preventing me from doing a simple ctrl + f.
