I created a data validation formula for an Excel 2010 workbook that would only display client names who were assigned to the manager that they selected. The formula works fine in Excel 2010. However, when I open the same workbook in Excel 2007, the data validation type is reset to "Any value" and the formula is missing.
OFFSET is an available command in both 2007 and 2010. When I try to add the formula as a data validation list in 2007, an error indicates that Offset cannot access data in a different table. I have not been able to find any documentation which restricts the OFFSET command in Excel 2007 but there seems to be some incompatibility between the two Excel versions.
"Clients" is a sheet which lists all clients under each manager."Summary" is a separate sheet which contains the manager's name. Only clients matching this name will be available in the employee's client list. There are 50 "employee" sheets, each which should use this formula for data validation in the client column.
The error we received seemed to indicate that the above command could not access data on another worksheet. It is not an option for me to copy the client list onto each sheet that uses this formula. Are there any other options?
What I'm tying to achive is to compare data on two worksheets called "Old" and "New" and to populate the difference on another worksheet called "Diff" see attached file where I have manually added the differences onto the "Diff" tab.
I have a Billing Data where i want to Calculate TAT between two dates in Excel 2007.. I received the Invoice from Vendors on specfic date but due to discrepances, i rejected the invoice, after few date i received a rectified Invoice from Vendor... so how can i calculate the TAT from 1st Receipt to Rejection..
Column A Column B Column C Column D Column E Column F (Receipt Date) (Rejected Date) (Re-Receipt Date) (Rejected Date) (Final Receipt Date) (Formula for Finding Rejection TAT)
E.g : In Column F, TAT to be calculated from 1st Receipt Date to Rejection Date, but if i received the rectified bill & after inputing the Re Receipt Date in Column C, then the Cell in Column F will remain blank, but again if it is rejected due to some error, & after mention the 2nd Rejection Date in Column D, then the TAT to be calculated from 1st receipt to 2nd Rejection (Column D), but if i received the Final Rectifed Invoice & after mentioning the Receipt Date in Column E, then the Cell in Column F will remain blank.. but pls note, if the invoice is not rejected the, the Cell in Column F will remain blank..
I have tried IF Forumula but in vain.. i can only nest 1st receipt to 1st rejection i.e : =IF(AB6= "", "",(TODAY()-AB6))
I want to do simple calculation using Macro in MS Excel 2007..
All the data is in Sheet1 ( Which is 13a ), the calculation is in Sheet2 ( Which is work ) and the result of the calculation will come out in Sheet3 ( Which is result )..
I need a way for tell Excel to NOT evaluate a formula. Basically, I want Excel to leave the value being displayed in the cell alone. The formula in the cell is a function that I have implemented in C++ and registered with Excel through the Register call.
I have to run an Evaluate function which is linked to an Array formula, but when I try just to put =ev(), the Array Formula which is located in another cell, does not run properly.
I have 2 sheets (book1.xls and book2.xls) book1 has over 20 sheets and has my primary data. Book2 is for a report. The report I want to only display one sheet at a time, by me typing in which sheet to access.
What I want to have: A2 = Sheet Name C2 = ="'C:Excelfiles[book1.xls]"&$A$2&"'!$B$1" C2 should have the value from B1 on 'Sheet Name' from the file book1.xls
however, all C2 will display is the text, I cannot get it to actually do the reference. (appears as 'C:Excelfiles[book1.xls]Sheet Name'!$B$1 )
Is there a function to say, evaluate data output from another cell? (less complicated example) A1=1 A2=2 A3=A1+A2 A4=3 (formula to evaluate output of A3)
For instance can I write "=A1 + B1" and have a change event the formula populate for the corresponding column that changes? such that a change in C7 for instance populated the result of the formula for A7 + B7 in cell D7?
I am trying to use an If statement and wanting to evaluate another formula.
The formula is as follows: =IF(B6>=7,Table!M16,Table!M47) where B6 =REPLACE(D24,1,3,"") which returns an integer. In this case it is 6.
Unfortunately it doesn't process the formula value correctly in the If statement unless the reference cell is hard coded with the integer. Is there a way to force the formula to evaluate the value of the cell formaula first before doing the If comparison?
In cell A1 is 13.00, the result of a formula. In cell A2 is the formula =IF(A1>14.00,True,False) The result of this formula is TRUE In cell A3 is the formula =15-A1 The result of this formula is 2
why the formula in cell A2 would evaluate to the wrong conclusion? All cells are formated as numbers.
I have a spreadsheet that contains two worksheets called: MasterApplication and LocalAdmin. The Local Admin worksheet as shown below contains the following information starting on row A1:D456 ....
I have an xls with over 500 rows of data, every day I have to update the contents of some of the cells, Cell A contains the date and is auto filled already to the end of 2009, Cell B shows me the number of days since I began the sheet and is also auto filled already to the end of 2009, Cell C & Cell D I have to manually enter data
Cell E contains this formula =D527-D526
Cell F =C527/B526
Cell G = =IF(C527=0,0,C527-C526)
Cell H resorts to manual entry.
My question is "why do these columns with formulas, (E,F & G) not automatically carry the formula to the next row?" I'm sure that they once did. Is it a setting that I can't find?
I have made no changes to Excel 2007, but suddenly when I attempt to copy a formula (e4=c4+d4) to a new cell, the result in the new cell is the value from the copied cell (and not a relative copy of the formula). I have checked the Calculation Options and it is set to Automatic. This is an existing spreadsheet that I have used for years. I also tried to copy a formula in a newly created spreadsheet and get the same result.
This is a physical inventory process. An employee, using a barcode reader, will populate the cells of one column in a worksheet with asset IDs that are located at a facility. Once done, the employee must compare the cell values of the worksheet that he or she has populated to the cell values of the inventory roster. The desired outcome is to produce a plus/delta report based on the comparison of the two worksheets.
I have two worksheets, contractor & list. Assume that Column (A) on the "contractor" worksheet is a named range from Column (A) on the "list" worksheet. On the "contractor" worksheet I would like to put in the contractors name, and auto populate the pay value in column (B). I have been using a Vlookup formula, but need to automate this process a bit more.
"Contractor" worksheet - Two columns: (A) I will input the contractors name from a dropdown list based on name range from my "list" worksheet. (B) is where I would like to populate the pay base on column (B) in my "list" worksheet.
I am using Excel 2007, I have a customer sheet and a sales sheet in the same work book. My customer sheet lists all customers with a single entry only each with a unique customer code. My Sales sheet lists at an item level but does include the customer code so if my customer has purchased more than one item the customer code can be repeated on the Sales sheet on multiple rows.
When I do a vlookup to display the amount each customer has spent on the customer sheet, only the very first sales figure is displayed, if further down the sales sheet the same customer has made another purchase I want this figure to be added to the first figure and all I want to see on my customer sheet is the final total figure.
The vlookup formula I am currently using is: =VLOOKUP(G2,Sales!$A$2:$B$1785,2,FALSE),
I'm thinking maybe a Vlookup will not do what I require, maybe I need a different formula/function?
I am working on a sheet that will copy a specified number of sheets, rename them, set a cell within the equal to a cell from another sheet and (the problem) set cells on my input sheet equal to cells in the newly copied and renamed sheets.
I want the cells in sheet "Data Input" to look something like "='newsheet'E26"
I can make it return the actual number in the cell and return the formula in the cell, but not make the cell in "Data Input" reference the cell in the new book.
Here is what I have:
Code: Sub CopySheetsTest() Dim i As Integer Dim wks As Worksheet
I'm trying to do a nested formula to automatically assign a region number based on what the County is. We have 88 counties we deal with, split into 7 regions. What is the best way to go about setting up a formula to do this, so I don't have to do it manually? I believe the last time I tried doing something like this, I received an error saying that Excel didn't support a formula as big as what I was writing.
My company uses financial analysis software to evaluate data on a monthly basis. The software has a report writing package that is similar (but not exactly like) Excel. There are 2 functions of this report writer that I would like to find out if
Assume A1=4 and B1=5 (but the data may vary in the future). In C1, I want an green up arrow if B1>A1. If B1
