Sep 21, 2009

Additional Controls Dialog Box refuses to display

I have a problem trying to add additional controls to the Controls toolbox

The two methods I've tried

1. Right click on the controls toolbox , click Additional controls

2. Menu, Tools, Additional controls

Neither of the above produce a dialog box containing the list of additional controls to choose from.

I am running Excel 2007

Access Additional Controls From Toolbox

Apr 11, 2008

As a follow-up to Cannot Access Additional Controls From Toolbox.

I have been having the same problems adding additional controls to the toolbox in Excel VBA on Windows Vista running Office 2007 Pro.

I ensured I had a full install of Office and I was logged in with admin rights.

Two work-arounds:Create a form in Excel on a machine that has the control you need to use, then export the form. Copy it to the PC that doesn't have the additional controls functioning properlyOn my machine, creating a new profile and running VBA enabled the additional controls *only for this profile*, not the existing profile.

While these work-arounds don't solve the problem, they point to it being a profile issue, not an Office installation issue.

Hope this saves you the hours of Googling that I have spent trying to find a solution.

Excel 2007 :: Controls / Objects As Containers

Mar 12, 2013

I often use the .TAG property on controls as a sort of temporary container to hold variables, arrays and such but this gets messy because I sometimes forget which control I used for what since there appears to be only 1 tag property per control. Are there any controls that have numerous .TAG like properties I could use (even name) to hold my temp data?

Excel 2007 :: Recovering Missing Worksheets?

Aug 29, 2012

I'm a novice using Excel 2007 at work and some of my worksheets have vanished.

On Friday I opened up an existing single-sheet workbook; while I was working on it I renamed the original sheet and added two new sheets. Obviously, I saved everything before I shut the file.

Today I've opened up the workbook and the two new sheets have vanished. Strangely, the original sheet has reverted to its original name (also the name of the workbook), but the changes I made to the data on Friday remain. The Properties window indicates there is only one sheet in this workbook, and confirms that the last save was made at the end of Friday.

The workbook is saved as an Excel Comma Separated Values file. I don't know if this is relevent.

Excel 2007 :: VBA - Insert Missing Columns In A Series

Dec 18, 2012

I am currently using MS Excel 2007. Is there a way in VBA to automatically insert missing columns based on a defined series or range of values?

For example, we have a report that displays columns of: Year 2004 to Year 2012 per column (9 columns in total).
Sometimes, it displays missing a year or years (thus; our report has less columns). For example, it only shows 2008 to 2012 (missing 2004 to 2007). At times, it misses some years in between. What we do is manually add those missing years by manually inserting columns then inputting the missing year as their column headers.

Is it posisble for VBA to check if the columns contain all of the defined Year range (for example, you've initially defined: Year 2004 to Year 2012)? Afterwards, all missing columns are automoatically inserted (in chronological order or based on your defined values or range).

Excel 2007 :: Custom Controls Not Showing In Add-ins Ribbon Tab And XML Error

Jul 18, 2013

We are using Windows7 with Excel 2007. We have old code from excel 2003 and earlier that was adding a msoControlPopup with other sub-controls using the code below:

Code:
Set HelpMenu = CommandBars(1).FindControl(Id:=30010)
If HelpMenu Is Nothing Then
' Add the menu to the end

[Code].....

I tried going to Excel Options>Customize>Reset to reset any customizations to the quick access toolbar as this was recommended by something else I found online. This did not fix the problem.

I can find the control in the Immediate window but it just isn't showing in the add-ins tab. if I can find and repair that XML file perhaps?

Excel 2007 :: ActiveX Controls Command Button Opening Worksheet In Same Workbook

Feb 6, 2014

I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".

Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").

On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".

The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select

The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.

1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".

2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".

I use Excel 2007 (at home) & 2010 (at office).

Vlookup - Finding Additional Values From Duplicates Using Additional Column

Jan 29, 2014

I am using a spreadsheet as a score sheet for a competition. One of the columns is the student's GPA. After entering all the scores there are duplicate final scores. I need a way to have it look at the final score and then use the GPA so that it will not put a duplicate value in the final column.

al Column N is the Total Column, Column O has the Names that correspond to the Total Column. Currently I am taking this total and putting it into Column Q (High Scores) in high to low order. Column R should have the names that match the scores. But with duplicate scores, it is only putting the first name associated with the score. I would like to use the GPA as a final determining factor for the duplicate scores. The higher GPA would come before a lower GPA. I have tried to put an additional column to bring the GPA over to correspond with the High Scores Column, but could not get it to work. There are actually more names for the competition and the top 10 will be moved to a different sheet and further judged. I have attached a sample with the exact formulas that I am using.

Show Shapes Font Dialog 2007

I am trying to programatically access a built in excel menu to edit the font dialog for text boxes. Specifically, I want to access the diolag box which opens when a text box is selected and you click the arrow in the bottom right of the font group in the home tab (Excel 2007). I do not want the dialog box which opens when just a cell is selected. The dialog I want has two tabs - font and character spacing. I know how to use application.dialogs().show to open built in dialog boxes in VBA, but I can't figure out how to show this specific dialog.

Add-ins Tab/Ribbon Missing 2007

May 6, 2008

I imported an Excel spreadsheet from a computer running an older version of Excel to my computer with Excel 2007. I opened up the specially designed add-ins tab and started a new worksheet which I then saved. When the programme was closed and re-opened, the add-ins tab was missing so I could not continue working on my new file.

Is this a compatibility issue between the versions of Excel (yet everything worked fine when freshly opened)? Following the help instructions I could not recover the bespoke add-in tab.

how I get this back each time I open the file? It is important I get the bespoke add-ins as they are designed to input runners taking part in a race and working out the results afterwards in various categories.

Excel Macro And Download Dialog Box In IE11

Apr 19, 2014

Back in IE8, when you tried to download a file, it'd pop up a little box asking if you wanted to download or save the file. Macros in Excel could work through it using code like 'hWnd = FindWindow("#32770", "File Download")' to get the box and interact with it.

IE11 now has an obnoxious little ribbon that appears at the bottom of the window instead of the box, so FindWindow comes up blank.

There are a number of files including .xls, xlsx, and .csv, and there isn't a static link directly to the files, so I can't just put the link in workbooks.open. Also, to get some of the files, there are logins and forms to fill in with dates and the like. I can get through all of that stuff and click the button to download, but it's that open/close button that's stumped me.

Any way to get an Excel macro to interact with that Open/Save ribbon in IE11?
