Excel 2007 :: Dragging And Inputting Cells Into Numerical Order

Excel 2007. At the bottom of a column of data I'm trying to reference the cell $AG4. There are 340 total columns. Each additional column to the right needs to reference the next cell in column AG. So I'm trying to drag and copy horizontally from $AG4 to $AG340. When I try just the single column it just copies $AG4 into everything to the right. When I have to columns ($AG4 and $AG5) and grab both to try to copy horizontally the numbers increasing it just does $AG4, $AG5, $AG4, $AG5, etc.

appending excel sheet number in a formula. Here is the example.
In an excel book, I have sheets 1 to 50. In each sheet i have a standard format to enter the details. And in one sheet I want to keep some summary with required cells. I made a table by applying formula, for example in cell A1 i kept formula ='9'!$D$9. In this '9' refers sheet9. In the similar way i want to capture the data from all sheets.
A1 cell ='9'!$D$9
A2 cell ='10'!$D$9
A3 cell ='11'!$D$9....etc
Is there any formula to append the Sheet number automatically (like dragging the shell) intead changing sheet number manually. because it is wasting so much time.

In Excel 2007, Windows 7 Home Premium, I am trying to summarise multiple worksheets into one sheet, creating a list in one column in this summary sheet that includes the cell contents from the same cell from each sheet. For example, my first sheet is called KCD183 and I want to list the value from KCD183 Cell A2 in my Summary Cell A2, then show KCD184 Cell A2 in Summary Cell A3 (i.e. the next row down). So my Summary sheet will list all cell A2s from all my sheets, 1 after the other down column A and will continue to add these for any new sheets I add.
I realise that I could just export the spreadsheet to Access and report on it from there, but I don't have the software!

I need to audit files produced by others based on a numerical sampling. For instance, I may need to audit every 5th file for one person, but every 12th file for person 2.
Does XL (2007) have an easier way to select every "Xth" file than numbering the lines manually?

I have excel 2007, I have a spread sheet with approx 80 worksheets. The document grew over the year of 2010 and is not in alphabetical order. I am starting this new year wanting to have the tabs in alphabetical order. I looked in the DATA sort option...but looks like its is worksheet specific. How to make the tabs sort in alphabetical order...

Excel 2007.
The first part of this code is fine and completes all the borders.
The second part is to the all the workbook by Data Sort in ascending order starting with
Column C
Then Q
Then column V
But also knowing to search to the last line. I think i might be close but not close enough for this to work.

I need to be able to enter a number in a cell, A1 for example, activate a button, and have that value placed into a new row below in numerical order, then the entry in A1 deleted so more entries can be made
For example, if F1=6, G1=8 and H1=9, if I enter 7 in A1 and run the macro, a new row is created (G becomes H, H becomes I, etc) and 7 is placed in G1, A1 is cleared.
What I'm up to is inventory where the items are all numbered and more of the same number can show up with a larger number, like XXXX1 and XXXX2 that are the same item, or different item YYYY1 that may only show up once. Row gets deleted when inventory is removed from "back room" and goes to sales area so the list will only carry 40 or so items at any one time.

I have imported data and numbers from a website and would like to sort the data in numerical order. Excel wants to sort the data 1,10,2,20... in that order. I know from past experience with an older version there was a way to convert the numbers so they can be sorted in the way that I want.

I have a spreadsheet for work that consists of various columns of data. One important sorting column would be Job #. Inside this coulumn are data like 134-Q and 2355-P and 755-P for example. The sort now is like posted. I would like to be able to sort by both alphabetical and numerical order. ie, 755-P, 2355-P, then 134-Q.

From I51 :R51 are the skips of each digit contain in the combination from C51:G51 meaning that the combination : 7 8 47 51 52 is composed with the digits 1 2 4 5 7 8 those digits have their own column with their skips in it, and I would like starting in cell T51 and dragging to the right the skip of only those digits and in a numerical order.

I have an excel sheet that will create a standard filing system.
in a folder there are folders numbered like this:
"ENQ 0123, ENQ 0124" and go up 1 digit at a time.
there are hundereds in this folder. I would just like to know if there is a quick way of finding the latest one so i can then tell my code to generate the next one.

I am trying to sort worksheets in excel by numerical order. I have renamed each worksheet with a different zipcode that corresponds to data on that sheet.
I believe there might be two ways to do this,
1) by sorting numerically the worksheet names.
2) by perhaps referencing a cell on each worksheet (i.e. the zipcode) and sorting it that way.

I'm trying to create a very simple order form. It's been a while since I've done this in Excel, and I couldn't find an answer when I searched. (I may be a lousy searcher, though.)
I want the user to enter a quantity in Column E of the "Common Items" worksheet, and have all the rows with quantities copied to the "Order" worksheet. (On the "Order" copy below, I just did a copy/paste to show the desired effect.)

Trying to arrange numerical values in order from lowest to highest in a column i have a code to do that but i need it to be able to but to a range in the column so it only sorts the values in rows 3 - 60 not all of the rows in the column

I have a worksheet in which i am asking a user to enter manually a number in cell E3. Suppose the user starts with 100, then the next time he is entering in E3 he shoudnt be able to enter 100 nor any number less than 100. I dont have a range for the numbers that the user is going to enter.Therefore countif function does not work. Is there any way that i an store the number taht the user enters first in cell E3 and then use that database to avoid the user from entering the same or a number lesser than that number.????

Have developed a form for my associates and want them to be able to move to the cellls I want them to fill data in to by merely hitting the TAB or ENTER key vs. having to move the cursor to each cell requiring them to input data.
Want cursor to move in a specific cell order. You would think you could merely say 1M, 2C, etc.

Working in Excel 2007. I am using excel for a data log (basically) and want it to format all empty cells in a row yellow if there is data in column A
Basically, If i have a value in A2, I want any empty cell between B2-G2 to be filled in yellow (as an idicator to the inputter that the cell needs to be completed).
there is already conditional formatting on these cells, which i want to maintain for the non-empty cells. I also have "0" as a value, so I couldn't use the basic conditional formatting setting it =0, it highlighted cells with $0.00, which i do not want.

I am trying to get two cells to be used to adjust other cells on the same sheet repeated times.
In a inventory sheet I have 5 columns as such , A1 previous balance, B1 Qty received, C1 qty on hand, D1 last cost, E1 current avg cost What I want, is to be able to enter my weekly received items in the B1 Qty received and the new cost in D1 Last cost cells and have them calculate my current average E1 and update my qty on hand C1 total. This in itself is not the biggest challenge. I was asking if there is a way that after the E1 current average cost and C1 qty on hand are updated by that formula, that the next time I enter a new B1 qty received and new cost in D1 Last cost cell they will update again basically without changing the earlier calculations achieved .
Example: Today I have item X with a A1 previous balance of 10 , with a D1 last cost of $1, and E1 current avg cost $1
I want to receive B1 10 more today at $.50 D1 last cost, which ideally would end up showing
A1 previous 10 (or 20 if adding) , C1 Qty on hand 20, D1 Last cost .5, E1 current avg $.75
Next week I want to receive B1 10 more at $.25 D1 last cost , which then would update showing
A1 previous balance 10 (or 30 if adding), Qty on hand 30, Last cost $.25 and E1 current avg $.58

I'm looking to easily drag the sum of certain cells in a different column BUT keeping a specific range, it's hard to explain so i'll show an example...
A1
A2
A3
A4
A5
A6
A7
A8
B1=SUM(A1:A4)
B2=SUM(A4:A7)
B3=SUM(A8:A11)
And so on...
Is there any way I can do this by dragging down the cell formula from B1 and it remembering the range of 4, so I don't have to manually select each range...?

I am using Excel 2007, and here is my scenario. I have a spreadsheet with a different sheet for each month of the year. I want certain cells in a month's sheet to mirror or be equal to the same cell in the previous sheet so that if I change the value of a cell in April, the same cell will automatically be changed in May.
An example is that I have a cell with the value of "Comcast". If I want to change that value in April to "Directv", I want it to automatically change in May, too.
Now I know that I can individually program a cell to be equal to a cell in another sheet and it will do exactly what I want. The problem is that I have about 60 cells in each sheet that I want to mirror the same cells in the previous sheet, and I don't want the entire sheet to mirror the previous one. So with 11 months/sheets with cells mirroring the previous sheet, individually programming 660 cells and switching between sheets to do that would take a very long time.
So my question is this. Is there any way to select multiple cells and have them all mirror the same cells on a different sheet without my having to program each cell individually?
