Using Excel 2007. Is there a straightforward way to do a waterfall chart?
eg. stacked bars running from left to right.
First Column = 2011 Headcount
2nd Column = stacked bar with additions (by category) - stepping up from the 2011 total.
3rd Column = stacked bar with reductions (by category) - steppind down from the first column + 2nd colum total.
4th column = 2011 exit (which will be at the same height as the bottom of the 3rd column).

FYI This is cross posted on the VB Forums at [URL].....
I know that you can use the below code to add buttons to 2 of Excel's menu systems,
Code:
Application.CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Controls.Add
Application.CommandBars("Cell").Controls.Add
And this should add a command bar control of whatever type specified to either the Add-Ins tab of the ribbon or the right-click menu when clicking on a range of cells.
However, I would like to be able to add some command bar controls to the right-click menu when you click on a group of columns. Is this possible?

I have a Excel 2007 spreadsheet of part numbers and quantities sold. In the spreadsheet we have similar part numbers, but my sumif command is adding these together. the parts are :
0124225031
R124225031
My column of part numbers is formatted as text
My formula is this =SUMIF(Sheet1!H:H,A16,Sheet1!Q:Q) where H is the part number and Q is the quanity
I tried adding a format command in the sumif command, but it returned a 0. =SUMIF(Sheet1!H:H,format(A16,"0"),Sheet1!Q:Q)
better formula and why is excel adding different part numbers together?

We just upgraded to Excel 2007 from Excel 2000 and have run into a challenge relating to labeling a form command button. It appears that the length of text for a command button label has been shortened to 31 characters when setting the name using VBA. No such limitation shows up when I manually create such a button.
Following is the code that used to work to create the button and label in VBA (Excel 2000):
VB:
ActiveSheet.Buttons.Add(2.25, 13.5, 443.25, 17.25).Select
Selection.OnAction = "PatientSelectedButton"
Selection.Name = "CheckFormButton"
[Code] .....
If I change the string I want to use for the label to 32 characters, or less, this code works (Excel 2007).
VB:
ActiveSheet.Buttons.Add(2.25, 13.5, 443.25, 17.25).Select
Selection.OnAction = "PatientSelectedButton"
Selection.Name = "CheckFormButton"
[Code] ....
I have to admit that this is the last item that I thought would break!

Excel 2007 I have a button that will export the worksheet to pdf and save it as Acrobat requires. I have a network folder set up and it saves the file with the name that I have programed in the macro. I would like to have the file name set up to be what is in cell C3 then a space and the specific words.
For example, if C3 contains "123456" I want the file to be named "123456_Warranty Calculator"
I will end up using this in several worksheets which will have a different name as part of the file name (based on the worksheet name).
I would also like to have the last part of the file name be the worksheet name. ie, "Warranty Refund", "PDR Refune", etc.
I will have several users that will be using the workbook and possible saving at the same time and want each person to be able to find the one they saved instead of it being overwritten.

This is the code I use to temporarily remove menu barsfor a spreadsheet that is managed by user forms. I have code at the close of the program to replace the menu bars. The code work well although and it places a list of enabled bars in the range C1:C50 on the sheet "Bars". The range C1:C50 is not locked before the sub routine 'Hide Menus' runs. However after the sub routine 'Hide Menus' runs, the range C1:C50 is always locked and I don't understand why this is so, I would prefer it not to be.
Sub HideMenus()
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
i = 0
Worksheets("bars").Range("c1:c50").Clear
On Error Resume Next
For Each Allbars In Application. CommandBars
If Allbars.Visible = True Then
i = i + 1
With Worksheets("bars")
.Cells(i, 3) = Allbars.Name
If Allbars.Name = "Worksheet Menu Bar" Then
Allbars.Enabled = False
Else
Allbars.Visible = False
End If
End With
End If
Next
Application.DisplayFormulaBar = False
On Error Goto 0
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
Opening.Show
End Sub

I have a workbook that I created as an interface for my workplace. I disabled the File, Menu, Edit, etc...menu bars through .Control("x").Visible = False and .Enable = False as well
Now when I open a new workbook all the menus are there still which is good but when I open a previously saved workbook all the menus are missing. Is there a way where I can have ONLY my workbook have the menus gone and for them to appear in other workbooks that were saved?

I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".
Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").
On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".
The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select
The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.
1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".
2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".
I use Excel 2007 (at home) & 2010 (at office).

I have a form that is dynamically created at runtime. I have assigned the controls to a frame in VBA and also attached a horizontal scrollbar manually to that frame.
How can I control the scrollbar in VBA to appear, when columns of controls added to the frame exceeds 10. If not I want the scrollbar to be invisible?

I created a workbook called "controlelijst.xls" using Excell 2007. In this workbook i created a sheet that i use as a template, it has conditional formatting all over it. That in fact is not the problem. I copy this template for every new issue i have.
The thing i would like to see happening now is when i enter the value "Y" in cell O10 that the active sheet on wich the value is entered becomes hidden. Because the reason for setting this value is that all conditions are met on this sheet and it does not have to be visible anymore unless i unhide it.

Using Excel 2007, I have a workbook with 7 sheets. The first one is a Navigation Page where I have checkboxes (form controls, not active X) with the names of the other 6 sheets. When the box(es) are checked, the sheet(s) become visible. I have accomplished this by assigning macros I recorded.
I need to now add the opposite: When the box(es) are unchecked, the sheets become hidden. From googling and looking for other threads/forums here, I gather that I need to add code/ VBA, but I know nothing about these at all.

Excel 2007.
I created an excel Calendar that has columns for months and weeks, and rows for hours of the day.
I have two drop lists one contains months, and one contains weeks.
Basically if you choose august from the first drop down list, all the rest of the columns that are not August disappear, and the sheet only shows august.
The second dropdown selects the week. If you choose week 1, it shows week 1 of this particular month. This second drop down is what I do not know how to make work.
This is the VBA code i used.
Private Sub ComboBox2_Change()
Select Case ComboBox2.Text
Case "May"
Range("All").EntireColumn.Hidden = True
Range("May").EntireColumn.Hidden = False
[Code] ......
I do not know how to make the code or choose the categories so that It only shows the week of the month chosen in the first column. Will I have to name each and every group of columns for each and every month as May - Week 1, May - Week 2...... June - Week 1, June - Week 2, etc... or is this a way around it?

I currently have the following Macro for one of my many checkboxes in 2007 Excel:
[Code] .....
It works perfectly until additional rows are added/deleted before the indicated rows in the code (It changes the number sequence in the workbook). The number sequence stays the same in the code which means I am now hiding rows either before (delete rows) or after (insert rows) the intended rows I want to be hidden. Is there a way to change the above code to remain with the assigned rows regardless of the adding/deleting of rows before it?

I have an Excel 2007 workbook which has five sheets in. I just wondered whether it is possible to hide all five of them when the workbook is first opened. Also I would like the user to be asked for a password when they wish to unhide a sheet, with the password being different for each of the sheets.
Is there also a way to do this which won't be affected by Excel disabling all Macros when the application initially opens.

I have an Excel 2003 program that contains macros. One of the macros hides certain command bars and disables the worksheet menu bar. On close the opposite is true. The problem is, if a user uses the disable macros when opening then the worksheet menu bar and other command bars are still available. I would like to hide all of the data sheets and display another sheet that would normally be hidden displaying a message that the macros have to be enabled for the program to work correctly if disable macros is chosen. When the enable macros are used I would like the Error page to be hidden.

When someone hovers over a particular cell say cell B3, then image should be displayed below this cell (sort of hyperlinking) and when the cursor or activell cell is not in B3 it should be hidden again. What steps/technique/VBA code will make it happen ?
