Excel 2007 :: Content Shown On Worksheet Different Than Print Preview And Print?

Jul 17, 2014

Since upgrading to Windows 2007 (I was already using Excel 2007) I am having issues with the content in the cells on the worksheet not appearing the same on Print Preview and when I print. On the worksheet the cell show to be at the best fit both horizontally and vertically. When I look at the contents under print preview, the contents are squashed from the top and cut off from the left. This happens whether I have the format in Top or Central align and is even worse if I use Bottom align. It is also somewhat worse if I have thickened boarders.

I am using TrueType Fonts.

More data will be added in the future on pages 1&2 but the last page (whatever page number it ends up being) should not contain the selected print titles.

Aug 30, 2013

She has a spreadsheet created in Excel 2003 (she is still using 2003) which contains an image with a textbox in the top left corner then all other cells contain data.

When user prints this spreadsheet all that prints is the image and the textbox.

I have cleared the print area reset the print area removed the picture (prints only the text box)

and none of these changes have changed what prints.

I have checked all printer setting and these appear normal.

previously user could print this spreadsheet fine and all other worksheets in the workbook print fine as well.

other users are still able to print to the same printer correctly from this spreadsheet.

I have a Document with multiple sheets in it and I ask it to print entire document which would be 7 sheets (1 Page printed per sheet) but only the first five will print, then it comes up with a second print queue that I need to use and OK to print the balance of them with. I'm printing To a PDF creation program. it saves and Prince the first 5 pages then asks for another new name of the document to save the next few pages. my PDF Creator works fantastic with any other program. I just need to know how to tell it to print as many sheets as I have to print without it doing that. so I can print all sheets in a single PDF document.

I reset the printer and re-booted my pc with no luck. I did try the Q&A and used =CODE(MID(A1,1,1)) which resulted in 68. But I don't know what to do next.

By the way, the spreadsheet does not show the question marks, only the print out.

Excel 2010 :: How To Maximize Print Area

Dec 3, 2011

Using Excel 2010.

I am building a dashboard and would like to maximize the print area so everything fits on 1 sheet 8 1/2 x 11 landscape.

My settings at this point:
Margins:
Top 0.25
Right 0.25
Bottom: 0.25
Left 0.25

Row Height 7.5
Column Width 1.29

Seems small, I know but as I develop charts, titles, infographics, etc... I will merge rows and columns as needed so as to leave just enough white space for clarity while packing critical information into 1 sheet.

My problem - as I keep playing with maximimizing number of columns and rows Excel keeps scaling. Is there a way to calculate the correct number of rows and columns to maximize the available space?

Excel 2013 :: Print Workbook In Particular Format

Mar 1, 2014

I'm trying to print an excel workbook in a particular format. I have several sheets. I would like the information on each sheet to be duplicated directly to the right of the info, on the same printed sheet in Landscape layout. After printing, I need to be able to stack the workbook and cut straight down the middle. This way, I have two identical workbooks with identical margins, perfectly centered.

Is there an easy way to do this without copying and pasting the cell data into the spreadsheet as well?

If there is not, and I must have duplicate tables on the same worksheet, is there an easy way to format the printing so that they print out perfectly aligned?

I've tried to use the ruler function in the print page to stretch, but, it only stretches a particular row/column.

Excel 2010 :: Print Area Changes On Same File Between 2 Different Computers?

Jun 6, 2013

I have a technician who sits a desk over, has the same brand of computer running the same Windows 7 and the same Excel 2010, but when he opens a particular file the page layout or print area seems to change so that the sheet is partially cut off. All his options appear the same. I can open this file on other computers and it seems to be fine...

I notice that the Margins under Custom Margins are different and this would explain the problem but not why it occurs. It's a file I created and saved and he opened. Why would the margins change? Is this one of the Microsoft cross platform / program deals where if he changes the print set-up or page layout in WORD for example, it changes them in EXCEL?

Excel 2013 :: Two Identical Files Print At Different Widths?

Sep 23, 2013

I have a series of worksheets (different workbooks) that have the same exact column widths and line depths. On screen the width and depth is identical but when printed, one takes up less width and more depth and the other vice-versa. Most (over 100) are just fine but every once in a while another is found that is distorted in print preview and printing and there seems to be nothing I can do to correct the problem. One difficult solution is to take the content from the "wrong" worksheet, do a save as on a "right" worksheet and drop the content in there.

Office and Excel 2013Windows 8Saving as different versions (xls instead of xlsx) makes no difference.Same printerSame monitorsAll worksheets are set to 17 pixels for both columns and rows (looks like graph paper)After setting up print area and viewing, the light gray dashed lines that show page breaks are different! The majority ("right") sheets have four fewer columns and four more rows than do the "wrong" worksheets.

Automatic Date Change In Excel Sheet Print Out?

Mar 29, 2014

At work I have a register/log. Its just a printout of a standard format in excel sheet. I print a month of sheets at a time and write the day and date on it by hand at the top. Is there some formula in excel by which it prints the dates as well in a progressive manner. Eg. If today is 29th May 2014 and today I print 30 copies of the register/log. The first copy has todays date on it and the the next one had tomorrows date....and the 30th copy automatically has the end of April 2014 printed on it.

I've found this code but cannot get it to work.

My workbook is called Shift Log, the worksheet is called v2 and I'm using Excel from MS Office Professional Plus 2010 (32bit)

ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
Dim sDate, i
retryDate:
sDate = InputBox("Enter the starting date, or click 'OK'" & _
" for the current date", "Start Date")
