Filter List Where Each Record Have More Than 1 Unique Value Assigned To It
Jun 1, 2006
I am trying to filter a list where the number of occurences of unique cost codes for each emp No is more than 1. What is needed is the emp no's who have only one costcode to have '0' in the 'no of codes' column. If more costcodes per empno, I need the first costcode to have 1, second code 2, etc in 'no of codes' column. The idea is at the end to be able to filter and delete all those with '0' in, as I only need to work with emp no's that have more than 1 'cost code'. See attached file. The records are in col A, the costcodes assigned to them in B, the formula in C, at the moment is:
I have a list of item numbers that will be repeated numerous times. I would like to extract a list of unique values that would update when a new number is added. I would really like to do this with formulas. Both of the list will be on the same sheet. I have racked my brain trying to figure out a way to do this. I thought I could use LOOKUP and MAX for the first cell, and then subtract one from the number above for the following LOOKUP formulas. That did not work. Probably because my list is not sorted.
I'm working on a sheet I have to complete and I'm blocked 'cause I'm not able to find the right formula to get the result I need.
I have a sheet that contains 4 columns with the following content (consider the following just as an example. The real sheet contains more that 25,000 rows.
User ID Repository 1 Repository 2 Repository 3 001FG x 001FG x 10GA x 20PK x 20PK x 20PK x 21CC x 4C1D x
Now, the table contains the user id (unique ID) and three columns that stand for the access right the user has for accessing a specific repository.
This means that a User can have more than one occurrence in the sheet because it could have rights to access different repository (i.e. the user 20PK can access all the repository).
What I should be able to do is to transform the table above to a new one with unique user id and the rights for each repository. I would need something like this:
User ID Repository 1 Repository 2 Repository 3 001FG x x 10GA x 20PK x x x 21CC x 4C1D x
How can I do this by using a formula and not a macro?
I would like to take a List of numbers, which come from a separate spreadsheet, place them into a UserForm text box and then use a command button to input the list of numbers into a column of cells. The list would often vary, between 1 and 10 entries. But if I could do this, I would be able to resolve an issue with my spreadsheet that continues to haunt me (the dreaded number stored as text.....). I know that you can assign a single textbox value to a single range-cell value. But if I could input a list at a time, it would obviously save a lot of effort.
Example
In spreadsheet #1, I would copy the list below.
25466 87550 66985 44252
In the user form I would paste these numbers into the text box and they would be input into Sheet #2
How can I FILTER a range and display the unique items, one below the other, WITHOUT blank cells - with only a FORMULA. What I came up with is shown in the attached WB. I would like to present the countries like in C11:C15.
i'm creating a spreadsheet with records of repair jobs on vehicles that my company is/has performed. the problem is that, the way our system works, there are currently no unique identifiers for jobs, meaning i cannot create a master list with various vlookup tables with only the information relevant for our engineers on them.
is it possible to create a macro or use some other system, that will create a new, unique code when a line/cell is filled in? because we end up sorting the list by different criteria on a regular basis (to find specific jobs) the system can't be relative (i.e. +1 to the code above).
I have a spreadsheet that i am trying to filter. I have tried auto filter but it is not working. What I have is a coumn with a part number and then 4 columns with other numbers. I am trying to pull out the part numbers that have a 1 in any of the other 4 columns. below is a sample of my spreadsheet. A number 1 may show up in column A for one part number and a number 1 may show up in column C for another part number. I need to be able to put all of the part numbers that have 1 in one of those columns together and so on. This is for cycle counts for inventory so the 4 columns represent the week that those part numbers need to be counted.
I have a combobox on a Userform, when the userform initializes i want it to populate Combobox1 with all the Unique values from SHeet 1 Column A (variable length to the column)
I dont know how to select a unique record only.
*thinking a bit further ahead i have a second combobox that i need to populate with unique values from column B on sheet 1, where in column A matches what was selected in combobox 1
I have a little trouble with my macros. I wrote several different macros, each for a special purpose. Then I created some Buttons, which would make it easy for others to work with them.
But I have now experienced several times, that my buttons don't keep their assigned macro.
I have a spreadsheet will a large amount of invoice numbers, some of which are multiple occurrences of the same number. I need to count the duplicates as one unique record and sum but I need to sum the total $ amount of each amount attached to each occurrence.
Please look at the sample to see what I mean.
W234678 has three amounts that are added to give a total amount for that number and it is added to the count as one record.
I had this code kindly borrowed from someone else which helped me find the duplicates but it is not meeting my needs.
Dim rCell As Range, rRng As Range, vKey, lrow As Long
I have to copy and paste each group of "Control Accounts" from column A into a separate workbook. I want to create a macro that can open as many new workbooks as there are unique records in column A and copy paste each group of unique records into those different workbooks.
I would like to combine values from multiple records into a single record using a unique identifier. In the example below 'ID' is the unique identifier.
Each product is represented by a serial number (column A). The can be sorted on column A from smallest to largest prior to calculating results if that helps.
The repair list contains 1 entry per spare part used, so the same serial number may occur several times.
Furthermore, a product may have been repaired on several instances - so the serial numbers can span several dates (column B).
The solution i am looking for should return the number of unique repair dates per serial number. That way i can see, how many times each product has been repaired. Results can be displayed in an individual column.
I have a list of names and i am using a vlook up formula. The problem i fall into is that it will only find the first Jon. How can i get it to find all of the Jon's and get all of the data?
example Name Size Lan a1 b2 b3 Jon 5 9 Jara 6 7 Fish 7 6 Jon 9 5
how can i get all of this info ifi nees the 2nd jons information
I have a very basic table of customers. In one column there is duplicate data. I guess in most cases an Excel user would only want to filter the table to show the unique records only. In my case I want to do it the opposite way round, to delete the unique records so I have multiple occurrences of strings that appear in that one column. I've used the "Conditional Formatting" trick, which is great = COUNTIF($G$1:$G$44000,G1)>1 highlights all of the strings that appear more than once. What I'd like to do from there though is to either just have that data, and to remove the unique records.
Either that, or.. is there some way to have a field/column which shows "True" or "False" if such a string has appeared more than once in a column. Auto Merged Post;I forgot to mention.. the reason I'd want a column of "True" and False" would be because then I'd have the ability to sort/group the data into all the recurring records and all the unique ones. I'd then be able to do away with the unique ones by just copying the recurring ones.
I'm looking for click event code for a list box called lbActiveItemList that finds a match for the selected record in Column 1, to the Sheet ReturnData in Column A from row 6 on (using the G column to find the last row). Upon finding a match it should close the userform, and make the G cell for the matching record the Active Cell.
I'm using Excel 2003 and am trying to filter a list of values. The list has duplicate values in it. When I use Filter>Advanced Filter and select "Unique records only" the filter only eliminates some of the duplicates. If there are 4 values of 100, it may filter 2 of them or none at all. Ultimately I'm trying to end up with a list of values with no repeats.
>I think my issue is best displayed with an example: > >Here's my rows of data: > >Column A >Bob >Dave >Dave >Eric >Simon >Simon >Simon >Simon >Tom >etc.... ....
I'll assume this is in Sheet1!A1:A10000.
>Is there a formula that can return the following: >Bob >Dave >Eric >Simon >Tom >etc... ....
I know how to use an Advanced Filter to sort for Unique Records Only and copy them to a new column, but I am looking for a way to do this automaticly everytime I update my worksheet.
I have a worksheet that populates an e-mail distribution list based on what you imput. Some e-mails are duplicates and I would like to eliminate them automatically before I Concatenate them into a single cell.
I imagine this could be easily done using VBA, but I am not firmiliar with writing any code so it is above my head.
i need to use the advance filter=>unique records only feature from my macro... how would i do tat? i have 3 columns... column A has records which are repeated... column B and column C's values for a corresponding column A's value are the same...
A B C a 3 6 b 4 7 c 8 9 d 1 2 a 3 6 b 4 7
.... and so on...
i need to use tat feature so tat i can filter column A alone and then copy column A, column B and column C's value to columns E,F and G...
I want to rank a list of teams based on their win/loss record. The list is something as follows.
Team A0-3 Team B0-2 Team C2-0 Team D1-2 Team E2-1 Team F2-1 Team G0-2 Team H3-0 Team I1-1 Team J1-1 Team K2-1
The column with the actual score contains the formula, =INDEX('2009'!$C$3:$BL$3,MATCH($A4,'2009'!$B$1:$BJ$1,0)). I would like to rank the list to something like,
Team H3-01 Team C2-02 Team E2-13 Team F2-13 Team K2-13 Team I1-16 Team J1-16 Team D1-27 Team B0-29 Team G0-210 Team A0-311
I have a list of times in a column. I'm looking for a macro that will go down the column and record all the times that lay between 5 and 7am, 1 and 3pm (13:00-15:00) and 8 and 10pm (20:00-22:00)
On the attached worksheet I am selecting items from the "Description" dropdown list on the Invoice worksheet. I then would like to find a way to automatically copy and paste the "Item #" and "Unit Price" found associated with the selected item on the database worksheet "Products".
i.e. I select the product and the spreadsheet fills in the rest of the required info.
A worksheet has a column named "Grade". There are may entries into this column, and most are used multiple times. I'd like a list in another location (to use in a list box on a user form) that contains all of the unique entries in the "Grade" column.
I know how to do the Advanced filter for unique records, but when I add different grades to the column, the filtered list does not update to reflect the addition. Do I need to run a macro to run the filter after every new entry?
