I need some code that will search the range A8:A500 for LastMembBkMembNo (201401)and when it finds it Go to the cell below that and make the value NextMembBkMembNo (201402).
So if 201401 was in A26 in would put 201402 in A27.
I have made the macro that does as ,soon as i open the file, select today's date but only if date is in sheet5... sheet 5 is may so it works. Doing the same job for every sheet in the file.
When recording a macro, how would I have it record me searching for a word in a cell, then select the two rows beneath it so that I can hide/unhide the hidden rows?
The reason it has to search for the word in the cell is that with changes above, the rows keep getting bumped further and further down (i.e., a moving target).
how i can go about finding the next empty row (and select the first cell of that row (column A))? edit: It probably should be noted that there are cells in Columns A through P. There are rows where all and/or just one cell contains data per row. So i cannot use a " lookup" based on a single column.
I am trying to find the last cell with data in a spreadsheet once this has been found select all up upto cell A4 and then format these cells into number format to zero decimal places so far I have the following which finds the last cell:
LR = Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row Range(Cells(LR, 1), Cells(LR, "A")).Select
I have a large database of equipment on one sheet and an input form on another. For inventory control, when a user scans a number into the input form, the main inventory sheet is updated with the current location. I have it working using functions, but I need to do this in VBA. I am looking to do the following;
User enters 2222 on the input form. The code matches 2222 on the inventory sheet, moves the activecell 10 columns and updates a value in that cell. Cell A2343 is "2222" then Cell K2343 is changed to "WAREHOUSE 4". What is the best way to find the match and then select that cell in VBA?
I have a client list in a table in my excel sheet. I currently enter the clients in a sheet that looks similar to a form. After the clients info is in this Form I have a button with a macro to copy the client info into a table on another sheet. This works perfectly.
Now I have another form that will retrieve the customers info in a click of a button in order to make changes to the client. Ei:I now have a second phone number and I want to update that client's info. What I want to do from here is take the info in Cell B2 (clients full Name), Do a vLookup in the "Saved Clients Table" in a Range within my table range. (Range: Saved Clients and the client's full name is in $A:$A and called "Clients Full Name" and once that name is found I need to select the cell in column C and the corresponding row.
This will allow me to copy the info in my form, Paste it in Transpose to the cell that is selected. (I already have that code)
Here are screenshots of what I am trying to accomplish. [URL] .......
I am trying to find a macro that can search a sheet for any cell that contains the text "Not on AOI" selects a range that contains that cell, 81 rows below, and 2000 columns to the right, then cuts the selection and pastes it 162 rows below the original cell where the text was found. What's hard is that the number of columns between the "Not on AOI" cells is variable.
I'm very new to excel macros and the parts I think I've put together are:
I am using 2010 and want to select a range starting at the same cell all of the time (regardless of whether or not it has contents - so let's say B7. Starting at B7, I want the range to include all of the columns starting at B and go to the end of all of the columns. Then I want the range to include all of the rows starting at B7 and end at the last row. I will eventually copy this range and paste it on another worksheet start on a specific cell of another worksheet. (Perhaps, we can add a name to this range).
I have a matrix with numbers that each cell is composed by a function of two parameters (two columns). The formula is
"=COUNTIFS(T2:T99,"15",V2:V99,"14")",
So it's counts when in one cell column I receive 15 and in the other 14. For instance, I receive the number 3 - so I have three rows that match (the first column with 15 and the second with 14).
I want, when I select the cell from the matrix (table) with the number 3 (that I receive from the formula) it will highlight the relevant rows..
I have VBA code that changes the cell background colour in column A based on criteria in column B. What i want to do is select a cell in the same row in a range column O:AB and change the background colour to the same as column A. This action is for rows 4 to 41.
Basically i just want to click in a cell and for that cell's background colour to change and match the colour in column A.
i am trying to find a cell in column C (if cell =140) and copy that cell and the adjacent cell in column "D" to worksheets called" upload" then repeat through multiple tabs- repeating process and dumping values in columns on the "upoload" worksheet
If i have a range say E12:O12 and want to find the last cell before blank, lets say it finds m12 as the cell with the value before blank. then with m12 it needs to determine weather row 11 in the same column has Text either "S" or "F" if "S" then m12 = t if "F" then m12 offset(1,-1) = t. And just to make things more difficult i need the range E12:O12 to step 2 as well until it gets to E208:O208 .Noting that row 11 never changes and will always have either an "S" Or an "F"
(I am using Excel version 14.0.7106 and MS Office Professional 2010.)
I have a macro in which I have named a range of numbers in a spreadsheet, used the "find" function to find a particular number in that range, and now would like to copy some information into a cell in the same row as the found number. However, when I try to move over to the cell that I'm copying to, it only goes to the 1st row in the range that I have defined.
Here's the portion of code I think you need to see. Everything works...it finds a match...but then I don't know what to do from there to get the information to the correct row:
'Grab the 1st project number Range("C8").Select Do Until ActiveCell.Value = "" If ActiveCell.Value "" Then prjnum = ActiveCell.Value Selection.Offset(0, 8).Select
I have four cells that contain text. All have connected check boxes with TRUE FALSE.
I need to be able to select anyone one of these cells with a check box, and have it's text appear in one separate cell eg: A1.
I have no issue connecting check boxes etc. I have no issue reproducing the text from any of these cells into multiple cells with a check box. But they have to be selectable and reproducing in one cell only (eg"A1").
I need a macro to find the last cell in the column, then copy the formula to the next blank cell. Then, it goes back to the last cell (above) and paste's values. Then, go to the next column and repeat the process. I can do this but have to call each cell separatly...however, I would like to do it in a loop to simplify things. It would be great to even be able to just set the start and ending columns. Here is my current code:
Dim rng As Range, aCell As Range Set rng = Range("C8, D8, E8, F8, G8, H8, J8, K8, L8, M8, N8, O8, P8, Q8, R8, S8, T8, U8") For Each aCell In rng Selection.End(xlDown).Select Application.CutCopyMode = False
[Code] .......
It does not go to the next column, instead it stays in the same column and repeats the process.
I have a column with unique identifiers (numeric) that are included in another column. I need to find this number in the column and pull the data from that column into a new one. For example:
Unique Identifier: 28530
Is included in this string: 10.1.8........28530_201_10-....
I need the content from the string pulled into a new column. It seems there would be a LOOKUP that would work, but I'm not able to figure it out.
multiple search match and replace content in a different column so for example
new workbook (look up table) sku search1 search2
[Code]....
so something like where you compare two tables and find and replace based on another cell that matches in my sku.. more details would be if the table column aren't exactly matching but the column header and the row header would match and fill or replace in the correct/corresponding cell is there a macro or vba to do this job in excel?
I am having a problem using data from my combobox to find the cell on the worksheet and write to the adjacent cell.
Worksheet name is Fleet ComboBox Name is ComboBox7 TextBox name is TextBox3 CommandButton1
I would like to be able to take the text from ComboBox7, find this text in Col A of worksheet Fleet and write the Value of TextBox3 in the adjacent cell in Col B. when the CommandButton1 is pressed.
I've got a range of data in Column D approx 50,000 rows long and I need to go down this range and when theres a blank cell copy the info from the cell above. I've got some code which loops through this but I need to make sure I put "EOF and the bottom of the info to stop the loop. Is there a slicker way of writing this code?
3. All the other cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.
4. Look at the "Volunteer" row - all the cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.
5. Wherever a name - any name - appears in the "Volunteer" row, 1 is added to the previous number in the "Days so far" section and the result is displayed in cell from the "Days so far" row above that Volunteer's name.
6. For example, we begin in C1 with a count of 12 days so far - this was manually entered
7. In cell H5, we see Henry has volunteered 1 day. The total no. of days so far should now be 12+1. Therefore, the number in H1 should be 13.
8. In cell G47, we see Joseph has volunteered 1 day. The total number of days volunteered BEFORE Joseph volunteered is 15 (see cell D43). But now, with Joseph volunteering 1 day, the total no. of days so far should now be 15+1. Therefore, the number in G43 should be 16.
9. what formula l must put in the "Days so far" row (excluding cell C1, which is manually input) to give me the "should be" results predicted in that row? I'm guessing it will be a formula which looks at each row fragment of the "Days so far" row, row by row, right up to the previous cell in that row, all within one formula.
P.S. I just want to leave the "Days so far" row blank, for any columns where there are no volunteers in the "Volunteer" row, so please don't give a formula which inserts zero for days with no volunteer, and then sums the cumulative total.
