Find Last Instance Of A Word And Insert Blank Row

I would like to be able to add vb code to my developing macro that searches within 1 column for the last instance of a particular word, then inserts a blank row under that word. All the data is sorted, so the words will be used multiple times, but I need the row to go under the last instance of each word in the column.

I have a spreadsheet which I am trying to put in a macro to add a new page (below the current page in the same worksheet) so that users who are unfamilair with Excel can simply do this.

I have got the macro to copy the cells I want and can get it to paste but the issue is I don't always want it to paste in the same place. The current document is 1 page long but it may need to be up to 10 pages long. I am trying to get it to find the last instance of the word "COMMENTS" and then paste the copied info 3 rows below that.

My worksheet has two sheets which has daily continued data. I want to copy two entire columns E and F from Sheet 1 and then in Sheet 2 I want to find a particular word "80 Percent" and then insert two new Entire columns before that word. And after that I want to paste that copied columns of sheet1 in those newly created columns of sheet 2. Is it really possible because the cell reference of the word "80 Percent" in Sheet 2 will change daily. How to create the macro codes for this.

I have a large spreadsheet with about 18000 rows or data and about 60 columns. I need to a macro to find a specific word in a column like "charge" and anytime that word is found in the column to insert a blank cell in front of it.

Find Changes In Data And Insert Blank Row

Need a VBA macro that is similar to the subtotals function but without the subtotals? Basically I want the macro to look at column A and say, for each change in column A insert a blank row… I don’t need to worry about the sorting, I just would like to know how I can tell a spreadsheet to look at a column find changes in that column and just insert a blank row. On the second page of the attached spreadsheet is an example of the desired output… I will probably use this for many different spreadsheets so the simpler and more versatile the better, ie I can change the column I want the macro to look at.

I have spreadsheet with data all over. I want a macro which identifies the first cell (in Column A) which has the text "BNY" and insert 6 blank rows above the text "BNY" (First text in the Column).

Once, it is done - the macro should also assign names to the last inserted row.

Column A - Should reflect "Bank", Column B should reflect "Field1", Column C should reflect "Field 2" and Column D should reflect "Field 3".

And after the names are assigned - It should also highlight the last inserted row in Yellow.

For Example:
Raw Data (Snap):
Bank
Field 1
Field 2
Field 3

JPM

Output (After Macro):

I am in the process of designing an inventory like spreadsheet with prices. If possible, I'm trying to find a well to look at a column for every instance an item shows up (lets call them apples) & then find the LAST instance of apples showing up to pull the pricing of that row only. Find First Instance - Display Value From Another Column

In col A, I have the dates. I would like to create a formula in all the other columns in row 1 that will look fror the first instance of a value in each column and return the date that that threshold value is reached.

The value I am looking for is 3, but the values in the columns might look like 0 1 1 1 3 2 1 3 4 2 0 etc. I want to return the date of the FIRST instance of 3. How would I do this?

I have a workbook in instance1 named Workbook1 that can successfully refer to and open a file named data.txt in C:

I have a workbook in instance2 named Workbook2 that can't find the same data.txt file in C:

Why can one instance find the text file but the other can't? How do I work around this issue?

Note: Workbook1 and workbook2 are identical except for their name

I can find lots of examples where you can find all instances within the range and to find the last cell in the range that has any data in but nothing that tells me how to find the last cell in the range that has a specific value.

How To Find Specific Word And Sum The Column According To That Word

I would like to have a formula find a specific word in column L and return the sum from column E for the same fund from column C.

I tried using =SUMIF(L:L,"*annual*",E:E) but that gives me the sum of annual for the entire column. I need to be able to specify the fund.

word "annual" also appears in "semi annual" so I need to be able to separate the two.

I am working on a data entry sheet time and I am running into a wall. I am trying to code intelligence into sheet so that the user doesn't have to enter as much data.

I am using Excel for Mac, 2011, 14.2.3, But I would like to be able to have others use it on PC and in Excel 97 - 2004

I am developing a time sheet for work. I am trying to have excel generate the work order # for subsequent jobs.

'Daily Entry Sheet'!$B$8:$B$138 = Date

'Daily Entry Sheet'!$F$8:$F$138 = Property #

'Daily Entry Sheet'!$G$8:$G$138 = Property Location

'Daily Entry Sheet'!$H$8:$H$138 = Work Order Number

Following is what I presently have coded.

The following Works but is not completely as I need.

=IF(OR($F8=0,$F8="",ISNA(G8),$H7="Work Order #"),"",IF(ISERROR(INDEX($H7:H$8,MATCH($F8,Prop.,0))),"",INDEX($H7:H$8,MATCH($F8,Prop.,0))))

This works fine in that the match finds the first instance of the work order #. The problem is there may be a later worker order # for the same property which supersedes the old work order. I need to find that last work order number for property # 919 for example, not the first instance, as the index/match returns.

I looked for a function similar to the sumif or countif

=SUMIF(Prop.,$F4,WorkOrdNum)

=SUMIF(Date,"="&$V6,Total_____Hours)

But I don't need to add the work order numbers.

Countif can give me how many instances property # 919 is used,

But I haven't figured out how to use that to It would be ok if the function would return the largest number like the MAX function, best would be to select based upon the latest date.

I am having trouble getting my IF statement to test if the cell contains the text "sale" return "X" if not "Y". I need it to search through the text string in that cell and find a certain word, and if it finds that word, retrn a value. I am really having difficulty with is what symbol or function do I use for the logical test? (i.e. =, <>, MATCH, INDEX?)

I attached a file with macro7 that prompts the user for text that will get rotated and inserted into the top left corner. The text is in the form "batch xxxx." I need a carriage return between the word "batch" and the numeric string. I guess the input box should have two lines instead of one.

but the objects opens up very small--i have to resize to use...(it is bothersome to the user...)

?can i have the object up with larger width and lenght dimensions..?

I had copied a macro from this forum [it was posted by either shg or NBVC], and I modified it to fit my needs. The macro creates a new word document and sends a series of cells from an excel worksheet column to this word file. Everything works fine, but now I need to insert a picture after row 14. I have inserted the code [colored red], but I am sure the syntax or something isn't right. That part doesn't work.

Column B has values 1 2 or 3

I don't care about 2 or 3

If Cell B2=1 and cell C2 is blank, return the word "Fix"
If C2 has a value, leave blank
If B2= 2 or 3, leave blank

Then, as I "fix" these guys, it involvse inserting or deleting cells. which seems to screw up the formula

Label Mailmerge To Word - Too Many Labels/blank Records

I've created the following code to perform a mailmerge to word from my excel spreadsheet, but when I run the code I am having a couple problems, and I have no idea where to start looking to correct them. I set up the Mailmerge Main Document as a Word Template with the Mergefields already filled in.

The data is coming from the first sheet in my excel workbook which has the headers for each column in Row A, and the headers match the word Mergefields I entered in my word template. When I run the following code, even though there are currently only 60 or so rows of " records" the result in word is 34 pages of my 5160 Avery Labels. After it runs out of the actual records it creates 32 pages of blank labels which appear to be printing only the current date and appear to be pulling the data from blank cells in my "ActivityDate" column of my datasource.

Also, everytime I run the macro, I get a message saying that "a table in the document has become corrupted"
