I want to find the corresponding Disc Codes from a list and copy them in the DiscName column in the summary sheet. some lab names will have more than one Disc codes so when I run the macro it should bring up all the relevant Disc Codes matching with the Lab name to DiscName column.
Col 1 col 2 col 3 Lab name Disc Name(say abcd) xxxx yyyy zzzz ppppand
The list looks something like this.
Col 1 Col 2 Lab name Disc nameabcd xxxxxabcd yyyyyabcd zzzzzabcd pppppbcda qqqqqbcda rrrrrbcda iiiiibcda jjjjjbcda kkkkk
see attachment below for easier comprehension of what I need to be done. Note that I have around 20 subjects (2 in example) and about 15000 values per subject (5 per subject shown) Basically, I want matching rows to be aligned (see grey) and non-matching rows to be deleted, throughout the 20 or so subjects.
VB: Sub AutoPopulate() Dim i As Long Dim lr As Long Application.ScreenUpdating = False
[Code] ....
This code relates to a list I have determined on my excel spreadsheet using a range from another sheet in my spreadsheet.
Basically this is a standard group of domains I want people to use, but based on where the user will use this there may be local variations for example amount, some people here use UKDW amount at 15, 2.
As this is a global project the above is the global standard I have set out. What i want to do is if people in the UK want to add there own values so UKDW for example they can do but assign a macro to a button that will add this to my range on a seperate sheet but also will add another case to the macro above.
So if someone entered UKDW_AMOUNT as DECIMAL 15 2 then clicked "Add to Domains" Button this will add UKDW_AMOUNT DECIMAL 15 2 to my list on a seperate sheet but also update my case selection macro.
I'm creating a spreadsheet to keep track of my costs of production in an online game. Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.
My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

I am aware there are people with more pressing problems than computer games and as such
I have a cell (A1) that contains text. That text will match a single value in a reference list (i.e. range of cells e.g. Z1:Z26). When the match occurs (e.g. A1 = Z16), I want the format of the reference cell (fill color, text color) to apply to the cell of interest (A1). The reference cells are manually formatted.
I know that I could create a long list of conditional format formulas instead of using the reference, but it seems that there must be some way to tell excel: if the cell value contents are equivalent, the formatting should be as well.
Is it possible to have a formula where it will retrieve a specific value on one sheet based on matching values? Unfortunately, hlookup wont work as there are several values in the table where the 'lookup_value' is the same.
Example:
On sheet 1 (titled BSRC), I have a table which has a list of values in column 1. On column two I have the 'lookup value' which needs to be matched and all values underneath it to be retrieved from sheet 2 (titled CSRD). The 'lookup_value' range is on row 9 of sheet 2.
I have attached a sample spreadsheet for clarification.
I need a macro or excel formula so that it will remove duplicate products- case sensitive(removing all duplicate prod using using excel, that i know.) i.e. it should not consider Blue BLUE as duplicate. only consider Blue Blue as duplicate.
So the macro should work same as data -> remove duplicate function already exists in excel, except it will be case sensitive..
I am using the Find fuction to look for values in cells that contain text in both lower and upper case. I am comparing the values that I have stored in a lookup table. I am running into trouble when the lookup table doesn't match the text cells....
I need some code that will find the column with the header of "Gender" and change the values from "M" and "F" to "Male" and "Female" but I keep running into issues.
I want to use a Select Case statement so I can set all other found values as blanks.
I've got a pretty intense macro already written, a lot of Select Case components. At the end, if nothing matches I'd like to just copy the cell above to the cell below. However, there is a range of about 400 cells in length, so I'd need some sort of wildcard for range.
Rows("2:2").Select Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove Dim Cell As Variant For Each Cell In Range("A1:OL1") Select Case Cell.Value Case "Eng1" Cell.Offset(1, 0).Value = "Engine One" tons more in the middle here Case Else Cell.Offset(1, 0).Value = "N/A"
Rather then returning "N/A", how could I reference the cell above and just copy it instead?
i have a very large spreadsheet filled with telephone numberS and some other codes that go with them...i need to match the codes with the phone numbers.
Sub TRCO() Dim TNs As Long Dim i As Long Dim TempArray() As String Dim TRCO As String Dim CD03 As String Dim ASOC As Range TRCO = "TRCO" CD03 = "CD034DF1" 'Filter TN's Columns("B:B").EntireColumn.Insert Set tempRange = Range("A6", Range("A65000").End(xlUp)) With tempRange . AdvancedFilter _...................
I decided to try to change it into a Case Statement. Here is what I have now. But the problem seems to be this time at this line: When I have "01" in C5 the script just keeps going?
To best explain my problem I will use this example
Dog 2 400 Cat 4 300 Car 1 200 Dog 7 800 Car 8 900
That data is in the top of my worksheet, and I would like to be able to find all the dog values then reference the 2nd and 3rd column and add all the dog values up and then post the totals in a area below like this
dog 9 1200 cat 4 300 car 9 1100
Stipulations 1) there are different amounts of values, there may be 1 dog value or 10 dog values, I would like the program to recognize the dog values and add the corresponding values. 2) dog, cat, car values are not the only values, there may be others like "tree, apple" but are not in use. So only values in the top of the spreadsheet get referenced to the bottom part.........................
I want to search or filter the list and find the only non matched record in the list and put this in another sheet ie max as this is the only unique name in the list, all the others are matched. Everything I have tried eg filter for unique records returns ian andy john david max, which is not what I want.
I've been struggling with dependencies, so I have two sheets.. the first sheet contains a simple table:
EmployeeUsernameStatusStatus Note Alex Josh Sarah David
This is the second table:
Employee Username ActivePassword Change Days Since Change Alex al2 Y Y 20 Alex alex Y Y 11 Alex aa2 N N 0 Josh josh2 Y Y 10 Sarah ssarah N N 0 Sarah sarah Y Y 1 David David Y Y 4
The problem is in the first table as I don't know how to populate the "Status Note" column which depends on these two columns The column Username which is a dependent list from table 2 that contains the username associated with each employee selection The column Status which is a dropdown list that contains (Active, Password Change, and Days Since Change)
For example if the following is selected for user Alex: al2 and Active how can I make Excel display Y in the status note column EmployeeEmployee UsernameStatusStatus Note Alex al2 Active Y Josh Sarah David
I have run across a problem that I am unable to solve with a combination of index, match and countif funtions. What I am trying to do is have the formula return disctinct symbols. I have a list of currencies on one sheet: audusd, eurusd, usdcad etc, more than one from each. Id like to return one from each onto another sheet...
I have made a spreadhseet that track what games an official referees (sheet 1), what games they are touch judge 1 for (Sheet 2) and what games they are touch judge 2 for (sheet 3).
Sheet 4 then adds all these up for me and tells me as an good approximate estimate how much each official should get paid in way of expenses.
Simple enough so far.
I have a list of 3 letter codes on sheet 4 for each official that I put in the matrix of games. It's using these 3 letter codes that it adds it all up. This works fine
How can I get it to tell me if any 3 letter codes entered into the matrix (Sheet 1!D4:CD82) Do not match my list (Sheet 4!A5:A71). (an error detection system if you like).
To make it more interesting I would like it to ignore blank cells (games not played yet).
I'm not bad on excel formulas, but I can't get my head around how to do this.
Last Name | First Name | Date | Service Day Smith...........John....................Monday Jones............Alex...................Thursday etc..
This list goes on down for like 50 cells. Anyway, I'd like to make a new list based on Service Day so that I can organize the names under the service day so it should look something like this:
Im hoping there is an Excel Formula (not VBA Code) solution to this problem.
I understand how to use the Substitute command in Excel, but I would like to be able to provide a list of words and have the Substitute command use that list to replace every occurrence within a given cell with a blank ("").
The twist to this is, that the List of Words will be Dynamic, and thus the formula will need to account for that.
NOTE: the formula should NOT replace parts of words, e.g., if the List Word is "can" and the cell to be evaluated contains "candle" the formula should NOT replace the "can" in "candle" with "". Only whole word matches should be replaced.
