Align Matching Values In Columns A And B And Bring Corresponding Values With Column B
May 15, 2014
I would like to align the matching values in columns A and B but I want the values that correspond to b in c,d and e to go with the column b value.
C D and E don't necessarily have a value in there but if it does it needs to move with B

see attachment below for easier comprehension of what I need to be done. Note that I have around 20 subjects (2 in example) and about 15000 values per subject (5 per subject shown) Basically, I want matching rows to be aligned (see grey) and non-matching rows to be deleted, throughout the 20 or so subjects.

I have a two different workbooks book 1 and book 2 with some data.
If values of first two columns ( Column A and B) of both workbooks are matching then I want a formula that can return the value of third column (column c) of book 2 in book 1 column c.
example:
Book 1
column A / Column B / Column C
100 / 200 /
Book 2
Column A / Column B / Column C
100 / 200 / 300
now I want a formula that can return in column C of book 1 to display 300.
And the data runs across some 100 rows in both workbooks.

i have the following macro which finds instances of a search criteria and brings them back to a results column. what i need is instead of having the word GD: appear before each result i need it once at the begining of the results
LastRow = Sheets("design owb").Cells(Rows.Count, 10).End(xlUp).Row
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
For i = 26 To LastRow
Target = Sheets("design owb").Cells(i, 10)
With Sheets("design")
For J = 2 To 54
For K = 4 To 11
If Target = .Cells(J, K) Then
Sheets("design owb").Cells(i, 11) = Sheets("design owb").Cells(i, 11) + "GD: " & .Cells(J, 15) + " | "
End If
Next K
Next J
End With
Next i
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

I need creating a formula that matches the values between two separate columns with results from that matching in the third and fourth columns.
Example: Column A contains the first set of values and column B contains the second set of values. The result in column C would be all the values that are in both columns A and B and the result in column D are all the values that are not found in both columns A and B.
Column AColumn BColumn CColumn D
122123123122
123133322133
231221323221
311322231
322323311
323333333

I have two columns of data, in A and B. Column A has about 500 rows of numbers, while column B only has about 150. All the numbers that are in column B exist in column A.
(Column B is a monthly product production list, while column A is a "master list" of all products that can be produced)
I need someway to match the data in Column B with Column A so they line up.
I was thinking something like this, but don't know how to do it:
"Where value in column A = value in column B, then copy this data into cells D1 and E1" (so the values line up next to each other)
is this possible? Maybe with some advanced filter? Or a macro? It seems kind of silly, but I just need to have the data next to each other without doing it manually.

I have a worksheet that has a compilation of reports, each of which has multiple columns that aren't necessarily organized in an Excel-friendly way. However, the first column contains a list of "name" headings (titled "Name") and the second adjacent column always lists the actual name right beside it. Similarly, each person has a value heading in the first column (titled "The Value") and the actual value in the second column. What I would like to be able to do is have Excel search for the Name heading, paste the value in the adjacent column (the actual name) in a cell in a new worksheet, then search for "The Value" and do the same thing in the column adjacent to the one where the actual name was copied. The catch is I need Excel to do this and then search again for "Name", skip it, and start again with the first part of the procedure until all names and their associated values are matched. how to do something like this in VBA?

I'm running into an issue trying to calculate unique values in a Data column based on a few variables in other columns.
My current formula in Summary tab D4:D19 is
{=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(Data!$I$3:$I$66<$E$1,IF(Data!$A$3:$A$66=$H$1,
IF(Data!$C$3:$C$66=A4,ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)))),ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)),1))
+
SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(Data!$I$3:$I$66<$E$1,IF(Data!$A$3:$A$66=$I$1,
IF(Data!$C$3:$C$66=A4,ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)))),ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)),1))}
This is currently counting the number of times a date value (data column I) appears for that name (A4:A19) in the data when meeting all of the conditions. I need it to instead count the number of times a unique date appears for that name with the additional conditions met (which all appear to work fine).
The results in the pink highlighted cells (Summary column D) should be:
Names starting with A - 3
All others - 2
I've left some other columns in the data with X's so that I can easily convert this back to my working spreadsheet.

I would like to compare two different columns and show only non matching values that exist in Column B but not in Column A in the next cell.
If we assume that my data is:
Column A: Column B:
A Z
B E
C B
D K
E A
So, I would like to show these values in the next cell as follows:
Column A: Column B: Column C:A Z Z
B E K
C B
D K
E A

Basically I have Two Columns.
Column A: Column B:
GN0001 DB0002
DB0002 DP0012
GE0025 GN0001
GR0026 GE0025
DR1235 GR0026
DP0012 DR1235
GS0025
PC128
Column A is the master codes list for a unique product.
Now every time a product is sold, its unique code number is entered into column B.
What I want excel to do is compare Column A and Column B and show me only the codes that DO NOT match.
This way I know which items should be present in store when I do a physical stock check.
So the end result should be:
Column A: Column B: Column C:
GN0001 DB0002 GS0025
DB0002 DP0012 PC128
GE0025 GN0001
GR0026 GE0025
DR1235 GR0026
DP0012 DR1235
GS0025
PC128

In the attached example I paste in a report from another system into Sheet2 (rough data layout in example).
In column B in Sheet1 I have tried using Match and Index formulas to try and return only the Local Shipment figures from on Sheet2 for each staff member.
The issue i'm having is that the data in Sheet2 can change based on how long the report is run. There is also no way I can change the way the raw data is set out in Sheet2 as it's an external system.
Basically i'm looking for a formula that isn't locked down to certain cells and can work with data moving up and down columns at different stages. The key data never changes from column A and F in sheet2. But what does change is whether each person has one or both of Sales & Local Shipment data in the reporting. This obviously changes based on what is completed each day.
So I need a formula that matches the persons name in column A in Sheet1 with Column A in Sheet2, then looks for the first mention of 'Local Shipment' below it and returns the cloumn F value which is in the same row as 'Local Shipment'.

I have two spreadsheets in the same workbook, on the first worksheet I would like to bring in certain values from the other worksheet if certain criteria is met.
On the first worksheet
Column A = G/L account Number
Column C = Is where I would like the amount brought in from the other worksheet
column D = The percent number I would like to bring in from the other worksheet
On the second worksheet
Column A = G/L account Number
Column C = Amount
Column D = Percentage
The criteria to use to determine if the number should be copied to the first sheet is as follows
Column C on the second worksheet if the value is greater them or equal to 1,000.00 (positive or negative) and Column D the percentage is greater or equal to 10% (the cells for this column are not formated has percentages)
For example"
GL account number 4000000-0 the value in column C is 1500.00 and column D is 15.19 then both numbers would be entered into the first worksheet in column c and d foor the row where the gl account number is 4000000-0

Is it possible to have a formula where it will retrieve a specific value on one sheet based on matching values? Unfortunately, hlookup wont work as there are several values in the table where the 'lookup_value' is the same.
Example:
On sheet 1 (titled BSRC), I have a table which has a list of values in column 1. On column two I have the 'lookup value' which needs to be matched and all values underneath it to be retrieved from sheet 2 (titled CSRD). The 'lookup_value' range is on row 9 of sheet 2.
I have attached a sample spreadsheet for clarification.

I am using Excel 2003. I have attached a data file here. getting the values in Q3, R3 and S3.
Scenario:
Q1 has the number = 1. So I want the cell Q3 to return 2/11/2013 as that is the cell corresponding to the Item1 (value specified in P3) with the value 1(value specified in Q1) in the cell. Basically, I need the date corresponding to cell which has the value of Q1 for the value of P3.
Similarly, R2 must have the value 2/12/2013 and S3 must have the value 2/14/2013 returned.

ATTACHMENT: Order Form.xlsx
I am creating an Order form for my job in Excel. On this form, it displays the Top 100 items for sale. All the basic functionality of the form is working fine, my real issue is with the order summary tab.
On this tab, I would like for any Items with a Quantity on the first Sheet to transfer to a summary on the Second sheet.
So far, I am able to get the data onto the second spreadsheet. My final question is, can make the items on the summary sheet go to the top available row? Basically if I have items in row 3, row 7 and row 9 - I would like for the items to automatically fill in rows 3,4,5 respectively. (on the second worksheet)
I have seen people make this happen (on this board even) but for some reason, when I try using those formulas I do not get the results I need. I have attached the file to this post.
On the Tab entitled "Adv Piano" this the product list. On that tab, customers can put a Quantity in column G for the items they want to order and that item's details, price, and quantity will automatically appear on the 2nd tab, "Order Details" in columns I - L in the corresponding row (this is already done)
I need the information in the columns I - L on the "Order Details" sheet to appear in columns C - G on the same sheet, in the same order but to fill in towards the top with the corresponding quantities, item details and price remaining in the same row.

I have a worksheet where data has been entered from a userform. For each entry, there is a separate reference number in the form of contract number-schedule number-machine type-cage number (e.g. 123-123-ABC-1).
The machien type will not always be known so the user will need to do a search for the contract number-schedule number and then bring up all the possible reference numbers.
For example this could look like:
123-123-ABC-1
123-123-ABC-2
123-123-CDE-1
123-123-CDE-2
I would like this list of all possible values to pop up.
what look up function would work and how I can do this?

Excel 2010: I'm working with a sheet where I would like to get accurate results on the make and model of cars sold in a given week. The workbook contains several worksheets each representing weekly sales numbers for different vehicles.
The Make-Models tab has the lists used to create the drop-down selections.
The Sales tab allows one to create an ad hoc report on the total number of vehicles sold, by Make and Model. Cell B2 is named 'SelectedModel' and used in the formula found in column E, Total Sold.
Problem: When I select Honda, for example in B2 of the Sales worksheet then select Accord in cell B3 of the same. The results returned in E2, E3 and E4 are 2, 3 and 4, respectively, instead of 8, 3 and 7.
2 Honda Accords were sold on Monday and 6 on Tuesday of the same week. My formula is only returning the first matched value of 2 whereas I would like it to return 2+6, 8 for week 1. Same goes for other weeks.
Select any other make and model and notice the problem follows. I believe the error is due to incorrect usage of the formula or incorrect formula altogether.
IF(ISNA(INDEX(Week1!E:E,MATCH(SelectedModel,Week1!B:B,0))),0,
INDEX(Week1!E:E,MATCH(SelectedModel,Week1!B:B,0)))

I have a macro that converts all my PDF Purchase Orders to a text file and inserts the data/text horizontally into another document. However because the PDF's or the text within the PDF can be fomatted differently (that is on different lines etc) it therefore imports the information and it looks mis-aligned.I have attached a simple spreadsheet showing some sample text as it is imported and then below this how it should look like, all in line.
The range where the highlighted text in red is, is variable (but say nothing more than a variant of 10 columns). The text can also be Uppercase or Lowercase. So, I was wondering if there is macro code to find the "text" on various rows/columns and align it all in another column?
