Hovering Over Cells To Show A Date

Firstly, I am using Excel 2007.
The purpose of my sheet is a timetable.
What I have is a sheet from B2 to N32. What I would like to do is to be able to hover over a cell to show a date.
I have columns that represent the months, column B is January, coulmn C is February, column D is March, etc, etc. Right up to December in column M.
Row 2 represents the 1st of the month, row 3 is the 2nd, etc, etc, down to the 31st of a month.
What I would like to do is when I hover over, for example, cell B2, I would like a box to pop up to say something like, ' What would like to do on the 1st of January??', then maybe hover over H7 and then a box appears saying, ' What would like to do on the 6th of July?
I would like this to happen on all cells on the sheet.

If there is more data in a cell than can be displayed due to the size of the cell, is there a way to get a real-time preview of all the contents in the cell just by hovering over or clicking on the cell?

When unprotected my spreadsheet is working fine (apart from the fact that my users can do anything anywhere!) However, as soon as I protect it I am getting a mouse cursor that looks like its hovering over a clickable button? This is odd as the area that its hovering over contains unlocked cells?
Then when I click one of the unlocked cells I get a message box that tells me that Excel cannot locate a macro? Its as though there is a macro being invoked by a click on the screen almost anywhere? as allowing full access only to certain ranges of cells is a pre-req for my project. my file is double the allowable attachable size so I have not attached it.

I need assistance with the following date range scenario: I have a date field where the user enters a date. I want the next field to automatically give the month of that date for example: user enters 01/01/2008 I want the next field to automatically say "JAN" etc.

I am looking for a way to have text hover over a cell when the mouse is moved on top of it.
For example
cell 1 - 5 hours
cell 2 - $10,000
I would like to be able to hover over either cell and text appear saying (using formula)
"Cost Per Hour $2,000"
Is this something people have had been able to achieve successfully?
I have seen some VB script for doing this on charts - but not on cells.
There will be thousand of entries which is why I am not looking to use a cell comments box.

I have several comments being placed into a pivot table from a macro. However, all of a sudden, when I changed the source of the Pivot table, the comments now do not appear when hovering over the cell. They only appear way off to the right if I click "review," "Show/hide comment" or "show all comments."

I wanted to know how to show a comment when hovering over a checkbox, whether it is enabled or not. I originally added comments in the cell behind each box, but due to many users using different versions of excel and different resolutions of each computer, formatting would be different and it would look awful.

I have a cell with a number in it. The number refers to a cost center and is validated by using a drop down menu. In another sheet I have a table that gives a text description of the cost center. Is there a way this description can be shown when I hover the mouse over a cell with a cost center number?
(I can of course use vlookup and display it in the next column, but I am wondering if there is a way to show it only while hovering.)

As part of a working spreadsheet there is a section which records faults by way of a numerical list in a dropdown menu. When a number is chosen the fault description appears in the adjacent cell. Is it possible when the mouse hovers over a number in the list the first 20 characters of the fault description could be shown before the fault number is chosen? The attached file is a simple example of the fault numbers and descriptions, in reality some of the faults have longer descriptions with more technical detail.

EX: column A has January 1, 2013, column B has Wednesday, Column C should have a start date which supposed to be 4 days ago (December 28).

How do I get cell B1 to show only the date that corresponds with the current date?

If I enter 12/2, in one of the rows in column A it will display today dates in cell B1 since today is 12/2, but when tomorrows comes, since there is not a 12/3 date in column A, B1 cell will be empty, but when 12/4 comes, cell B1 will show 12/4 since that is a 12/4 date

This is a project plan with tasks and dates. Column A is the activity number. (Example 1, 2, 3" etc). Column B is the task (Ex. "Complete Report"). Column C is number of days required to complete the task. Column D is the dependency column. (Ex. Cell D2 =1 in other words Task 2 is dependent on task 1). Column E is the date.
I would like to have a seperate start date cell and a go live date cell.
The objective is to enter a start date, and have each column E date increase based on the number of days entered in Column C. If a task is dependent on another and I change the number of days in Column C I need the dependent task to change the same amount of days.

My pallet lost color-coding - if I hover over each little scare it displays the names for the colors and if I click on them they color the cells with the right colors, but the palette itself lost the visual display of colors except for 8 colors: black, blue, red, magenta, yellow, cyan, and white.
I use color-coding of cells a lot and I find it difficult to work without visual clues. At least the hover-support allows me to get the work done, but with difficulty.

I have data on 400 rows. Each row has a maximum of 10 cells with data, but many have empty cells with no data. I would like to sort each row to show values of cells in sequence and eliminate empty cells. I can use the sort row function but its a long process for 400 individual rows. Is there an easier way?

I have a list of dates in the format of 23/10/2009 etc. I'm looking to show the adjacent cell as the month e.g October. Each time I try to format the cell as 'mmmm' it shows January, can someone please point me in the right direction.

Is there any way of configuring Excel so that it will automatically show the day when I hover my cursor over a cell that contains a date, eg 09/10/06 will show Monday as a pop-up similar to a comments box when the cursor is held over it.

I am looking for excel to return a day from a date value, 14/07/07 = Saturday. Need this in VB ?
I have tried the DATE() and TODAY() etc.. Do i need to first tell excel a day by date so it can work it out, or can i do it in code???
The reason is im looking for it in VB to generate a report on a weeks data, which is inputted by a user. I will know the first date will be a range 1, but then need to convert it into a Day name ?

I have a similar case but there are no empty rows between lists, what would be the formula to get the same results? (The transposed address should appear next to each first line of each block).

Basically each line signifies a date & time that a deposit was placed and a date & time that a withdrawal was actioned. My goal is to be able to determine what kind of average response time we have between the time a withdrawal was requested and the time a withdrawal was actioned.

i have 6 columns representing people B6:B500 C D E F G all the same in each row a date as worked will be entered for each person say from b6 to g6 2,6,1,3,5,4
in A1 i want to show the earliest date worked which is 1 then say 7 is entered into d7 i need A1 to show 2 as the next earliest and the same to happen as each date is entered i am using 2007 at work and 2003 at home.

after the data is entered it is stored on anther worksheet..
every morning when they get to work. they want to open it and on the MotDataEntry sheet it needs to bring up the Mot's that are due in a months time (reminder) ,name reg etc

Basically I got to create a spreadsheet which needs to last 10 years......my workbook, has set up tab, a tab for each month, and a summary sheet.
At the start the end user needs to select a year in cell 'Set-Up & Info'!B8 (i use a dropdown box, so they can select the year)
I then want my April tab to think 01/04/ then the year which is in cell 'Set-Up & Info'!B8
I then custom format the cell below to show what the day is (Custom format "DDD"), so it the row below needs to be in a date format.
