How To Control Individual Functions In Excel Chart

All of the functions' X Axis were given the same data (12,24,36,48), except ROULETTE and TOURNAMENT which were also given (60) for the X axis.

Why do the NORMAL bars aren't located on the place they should on the X axis?

For example, the 1st bar (from the left), should be a little more to the right. The others should move to the left.

My X axis range is small 1 to 4. but I want to show minor grid lines at 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 only. I do not want lines at 1, 2, 3 or 4. I am not sure how to achieve this. as switching on minor grid lines, included those at the integers as well as at the half way points.

1 Control Button 2 Functions?

I have a column ("R") which contains prices. What I'm looking to do is have a form control button that either hides that column, or better still just turn the font white (invisible)on the press of the button, then with another press turn the font back to black (visible) or do I require 2 buttons to carry out this function. I don't wish to have the column formatted in anyway after the changes, simply 1 press turns the font white and either another press (or another button) turns the column back to the exact same state (no formulas present) as it was.

i have a spreadsheet that uses control functions to run vb code. i am trying to make things as user friendly as possible for all of the employees. i am currently working on a control to clean out any rows that the first cell has a value of "N/A" or is left blank. i have the code for the blank cells, but cannot figure out how to add the "N/A" cells.

Set Transparency Of Individual Chart Points MAC

I have a VBA script that walks through the series of points on a chart and sets color based on other parameters unique to each point. Unfortunately, this doesn't see to work.

Running the following code, the .MarkerBackgroundColor and .MarkerForegroundColor commands seem to have no effect:

With myChtObj.Chart.SeriesCollection(1).Points(Counter)
.MarkerSize = 8
.MarkerStyle = xlDiamond
.Shadow = True
.MarkerBackgroundColor = RGB(250, 250, 250) ' These have no effect

Setting these parameters for the series as a whole does work, but not for individual points. Is this a known issue? Is this unique to the Mac version of Excel?

Chart/Graph For Individual & Group Totals

I am working on the evaluation of a survey. I had 212 respondents which could be divided into three distinct groups. I would like to present the results of a question in columns that reflect the total frequency count in percentages. At the same time I would like those columns to be stacked in order to illustrate the contribution each group has made to that particular answer. I have attached an xls file with the data and a demonstration of the outcome I am trying to achieve.

I haven't been able to create the graph so that the columns display the total count in relation to all respondents on the one hand and at the same time are broken up into the individual groups. Among others, I have read the thread: http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/stacked-column.htm but that doesn't answer my question as the Total there is actually the cumulative total of the other values.

is there any way I can make the chart inputs variable. I have an array of numbers. lets say 100 of them, these are linked cells and depending on the input I might have less than 100 numbers in these 100 cells. All the cells which have numbers will appear in a block first and all the non number cells will appear below them as blanks in anotherblock. Now i have to create a chart from these numbers, so at times I have to take the 90 cells where there are numbers and other times I have to take 95 cells. Is there any way I can get over this.

(I am using different data IRL which is company sensitive so I have designed a simple example spreadsheet.)

Ok, So I have a list of words A2:A4 and I have created a Control Box which allows me to select which word I want from the list.

On a separate tab I have lists of data which relates to individual words from the A2:A4 list.

What I what to achieve is when the word is selected from the drop down menu it will create a Pie chart showing me the break down of percentages and attributing 'companies'.

Inserting Control Into Chart

I have a feeling this is a stupid question, but I can't figure it out right now...
I have a worksheet with a bunch of charts as worksheets. I want to put command buttons on these charts. Whenever I select a tab which as a chart on it, my controls are grayed out, and I cannot insert a button. When I select a tab of a regular worksheet, I can insert buttons to my heart's content. Why can I not insert controls to the tabs which are charts? The ridiculous thing is, I have done it before. When I open that file, my buttons are on the chart. However, even in that sheet, I cannot insert more. Do I have a setting that I have changed, or somewhere I can look to enable the ability to put controls on a chart?

Control Chart Shape Colors By Values?

Is there a way to make the colours in a chart (pie, column etc) correspond to a value? I'm using Excel 2002, soon to start using 2003.

For example, imagine a normal pie chart showing the population of each country in North, Central and South America. But for each country, colour gradations would be used to show levels of wealth (e.g., GDP per capita) as follows:

saturated red = bottom 20% (poorest)
pink = 21-40th percentile,
white = 41-60%,
gray = 61-80%,
black = 81-100% (richest)

Is this possible? And not to get too greedy, but can you use even finer gradations -- say, with ten categories, as opposed to the five in the example above?

I am using the VBA Chart Control and I have the following instruction;

The chart is a "chChartTypeLine". the problem is that i cannot change the format of the X-Axis to a Date (mm/dd/yy) format no matter what I try? I keeps wanting to keep it as "General", here is the code;

Pivot Chart : No Control Of The Axis Format

I made a pivot chart. On the X axis are days of the year. I would like the axis to give the months rather than the days, because it is easier to read. But when I select the chart's axis, I don't have acces to any "number" sheet in the "Axis format" section. I could just change the scale.

Change "Chart" to "File" or "Edit" or "Tools" and it's fine.

The Chart item only appears when a chart is selected, but it errors even when a chart on the worksheet is selected.

My current project involves sorting a spreadsheet, selecting specific qualifying data from the sheet, storing it into a variable, the pasting the individual values from the list into individual cells on a different sheet within the same workbook. Here is the code I have so far...

When this code runs the first item in the list pastes into Sheet10 A1, but no other values from the list are placed into Sheet10. Previous to this I had been using a variation of this code to push the list into a combobox list within a userform. In that case instead of

And this worked perfectly; creating a list within the combobox (in fact I can use this modification to interrogate my code to determine if the list is being properly generated, and it is).

Save Different Tab Excel To Individual Text Files?

I want to get a vba which will convert an excel with different tabs to individual text files. IT MUST BE PIPE DELIMITED.

So if there is an .xls file with 5 different tabs, i should get 5 text files with each text file getting name of the worksheet it was created from.

I have a similar code but somehow it is doing the conversion only for last worksheet, also it is saving the file in the same name as workbook.

To view individual supplier details i use find function using supplier code and then scroll through the sheet to view all the details and it is quite hectic. Excel 2003 :: Daily Stock Chart AND Random Scatter Chart Data

I need to plot various data on top of stock charts.

This data could be irregular in date: it could be weekly, or simply random.

To plot this data by itself requires a Scatter Chart.

From what I know so far, you CANNOT DO THIS.

However, I suspect this could be done if I build a Stock Chart from scratch using a Scatter Chart.

Error bars can be used to make the tails, however, I don't know how they built the body bar which has the characteristics of a bar (border, and interior.)

But since I don't really need those two characteristics, I just need a wider error bar line that is provided in the chart edit window. I'm guess through a macro, there are wider line widths assignable.

I am looking for a creative way to display a pie chart within a data point marker of a line chart.

My database has 3 value columns, Type1, Type2 and the Total (Type1 + Type2)
these are recorded per day (Date, in Column A)

I have a line chart that displays the total by date, but I want to find a way to display the percentage split of a particular day by type.

I was thinking to load the chart image into the Data point marker, but i don't think that is the best way as the data is updated daily and I would have to do it each day for a few line charts.

The other way I was thinking about was to have a generic Pie chat in the Line chart (Maybe in a corner) and the pie would update depending on way date series was selected or Mouseover'd)

the way that I am approaching it at the movement (Not the best way and by far not the coolest way. Is to have a list of all the dates in a column next to the Line chart and using some VBA, what ever date is selected in the column the pie chart displays the corresponding data. But eh challenge is that when there is alot of dates, I am going to be scrolling up and down.

I am using Excel 2010, but I cant not use the slicer's as the other users do not have 2010, they have 2007.

Excel 2003 :: Filter Data In Graph / Chart (without Having To Create New Chart)

I have a spreadsheet created in Excel 2003 (which is what we use at work, unfortunately).

My employees periodically take a test to ensure they have certain items memorized (or are making progress to that end). The spreadsheet rows show all 46 of my employees, and their test scores. The columns are the dates that the tests are administered. I can create a line graph based on the chart data, and interpolate these data with no problems.

The problem is that there are 46 employees! 46 lines on the same graph make for a very cluttered, hard to understand visual. I want to simplify the view by "filtering out" some of the data.

I have an additional column in my spreadsheet for each employee's work area (Area 1, Area 2, etc), and another column with data based on first letter of last name (the values here could be "A-G", "H-M", "N-S" and "T-Z", for example). I figure i could filter my line graph based on these two columns. For example, somehow select just Area 1, and reduce the number of lines on the graph to 16. Or better yet, Choose "Area 2" AND "A-M" and end up with 7 employees (and therefore 7 lines on the graph).

Here's what i have tried:

1) Select the work area column, and use the Filter, which created a drop-down list at the column heading. When i use this drop-down list, i can easily filter the data in the worksheet by Work Area, but this is not reflected in the line graph, which still shows all 46 lines. The problem was that i forgot that i had set the Calculation Options to "Manual". Setting this to "Automatic" (or leaving it on Manual and pressing F9) solved the problem, as the chart now updates when i use the filters. Calculation options are under the "Formula" tab in 2007, or in Tools -> Options -> [either calculation or formula, i forget what it's called] in 2003.

2) Create several separate line graphs in several separate sheets. I wouldn't want to assign someone else the task of maintaining a spreadsheet of such inefficient design.

I need to get that list of numbers listed out to the right, with one number per cell. The list in column one could possibly contain from 1 to 20 numbers, and the last number is always without the comma after it.
