The last few days I have had great support in answering my questions. I would like to tweak the code one more step.. The RFQ LIST workbook grabs data from Inventory workbook after select the workbook.
This code in RFQ LIST allows to select the workbook, I would also like to select the workbook.sheet as found out they want to tab the data and keep long term history.
I have a workbook made up of 10 worksheets or so. Each of the rows in each worksheet includes the age of a case in column H. I want to copy the rows that show a case that is over 90 days of age, I then want to paste these into another worksheet. I want to do this for each of the ten worksheets.

I think this may be a little difficult (for me at least!) but would it be possible to have a list of the open workbooks popup when I run my macro, so that I may select which workbook to run it on?
The macro itself just does some formatting of the sheet, but it is contained in a master file.
I have a workbook with around 350 worksheets. A column in the main sheet contains a list of part numbers which correspond to the names of the worksheet tabs. When a cell on the main sheet containing a part number is selected I would like a macro to find the corresponding worksheet, move that worksheet to the end of the row of tabs and open it.

I have 2 workbooks. The workbooks have 36 tabs for each department. Workbook 1 are current charges for the departments and workbook 2 is the revenue for each department. I would like to take the top 2 rows from workbook 2 and add them to workbook 1 at the bottom of each tab. I was able to get it to work to a specific row but the workbook 1 has variable rows for each tab.

I have a Data Validation list in cell A1 of a worksheet called LIST. I would like to modify the macro that I have recorded, the macro uses data from various worksheets. I would like to sort out some code so that at certain points in the macro it will select the worksheet that is shown in cell A1 of the LIST sheet and then carry out the code already recorded. THis will allow me to quickly change a sheet name that is refererred to in the macro numerous times without actually manually editing the sheet name in the macro code.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a macro that opens 10 other workbooks and copies cells onto a "master" workbook. Until recently, everything worked fine. Suddendly, while it opens the 9 books and copies as it is expected, but when it opens the 10th wb, the macro breaks at a very simple copy/paste.
The weirdest thing is that after it breaks, I cannot select any cells neither in the opened wb nor in the master wb. This continues even after I press the "reset" button in the vba. So, I am only able to select objects (text boxes etc) in my wb and not any cells.
Also, the "arrow" icon on the design toolbar is not active. And I've tried pressing and de-pressing the F8 key, but I still cannot select any cells.
I have option explicit in the beginning of my macro. And i'm using excel 2003.
This macro uses data validation and copies new entrys to my Company List sheet. In a different workbook (2.xls). Can this be changed so it copies the nesessery data to workbook 2.xls?
This works if i take the [2.xls] out but only on the same workbook. But i need 1 workbook with the list in and 1 workbook that grabs information from that list and adds to it.

Im trying to create a document that creates a new workbook when certain functions are selected and have written a macro to assist with this. Basically im working on a comprehensive checklist with all possible scenarios that will need to be tailored for use, so you can create a document with just what is applicable to you and not the whole checklist. Is it possible to write a macro code, which will paste a predetermined value into a different workbook?
For example, I have 3 open workbooks, ie, 3 separate instances of Excel running.
When I run the macro in "Workbook 1", I want the value "1" to be pasted into cell A1 of workbook 3. (C:workbook1.xlsx)
When I run the macro in "Workbook 2", I want the value "2" to be pasted into cell A1 of workbook 3. (C:workbook2.xlsx)
Thus:
The value of Cell A1 in Workbook 3 changes as the macros specified above are run. (C:workbook3.xlsx).

Copy worksheets from many workbooks to one Master workbook, which will be used to aggregate the data. I need a macro to do this, which will automatically name the worksheet it creates (using information from one of the cells).
The second part of my problem is that it needs to be smart enough to recognise if the worksheet that is being copied, has previously been copied to the master. If it has, it should overwrite the original worksheet rather than create a new one.

I don't know what syntax to use to 'globalise' if you like the macro to perform the action in the code to all the sheets.
Is there a possibility that there is a macro in the workbook even when there is no worksheet? I do not want a personal macro, instead, when I open a workbook(with no worksheet), goto tools->macro->open, I should see the macro. This would be helpful so that I can passover the macro to all my team mates and they can open any worksheet from there and work on the macro.

I want to create a macro that will select all the worksheets (names and quantity will vary) and saves the file as the current file's name but in PDF. Since I only know how to record a macro it specifies the worksheet names but I need it for various workbooks. The name will vary plus the number of tabs can go anywhere from 3 to 40.
