Macro To Create Gaant Chart Style Table From Leave Data?

Jun 11, 2014

I have a leave history report with data for leave taken for the 2014 year. The sheet contains the following headings:

Name; Leave Start Date; Leave End Date; Date Paid; Days Taken; Roundup; Offset

The roundup column rounds the days taken up, for example if someone took 0.4 days off it would round it to 1.The offset column just subtracts the Roundup value by 1 (=Roundup-1) I think we will need this for what I am trying to do.

I have created a new spreadsheet labelled gaant chart, this shows the name of the employee with the working dates for the year and has the following data:

Name
1/01/2014
2/01/2014
3/01/2014
6/01/2014
7/01/2014
8/01/2014
9/01/2014
10/01/2014

[code].....

What I would like for the macro to do is lookup Employee 1 from my gaant chart table and search the leave history data if it finds a relevant start date for the employee it marks that date with a 1, it then looks in the offset column and marks the number of offsets to the right. For example if employee 2 took leave from 1/1/14 to 3/1/14 the macro would mark a 1 on the 1/1/14, and search the offset column which would have 2, it will then mark a 1 in the 2 cells to the right of 1/1/14 also (these being 2/1/14 and 3/1/14)

Pivot Style - Modify 1st Style Under Light Category

Aug 28, 2008

I have a sheet that I want to have a double line border around the outside. So how do I make it print a border around the entire sheet no matter how many rows are in the sheet??

Replace Entire Row Based On ID

Aug 23, 2012

As per the attached file, the B2 cell representes the person ID and is equal to 2 in the worksheet "Sheet1".

The available macro from that same worsheet will simply create a new entry on the "DB_PLAYERS" worksheet with a new ID without taking on board the cell B2.

What I would like to do is: IF the B2 cell is present in the A:A "DB_PLAYERS" worksheet then It would replace data of the existing ID.

In the current attached file: if you directly open it and click on the "SAVE" button, I would need to have the 3:3 replaced and have the new last name "SMITH" instead of "KELLY" in the cell C3.

VLOOKUP To Find And Replace For Entire Workbook?

May 13, 2014

I have a very large spreadsheet that I am using to track/analyze enterprise roles and the permissions that go along with each role. On the first sheet, I have a list of all employees (Name, Title, Department, etc) and on another sheet, I have a list of all Security Groups and Distribution Lists (with Members.) What I need to do is create a vba script that completes (1) a VLookUp using the Name column of the Employee sheet as the Criteria and then check against the first column in the Groups/Lists sheet for the matching name. If the employee's name from the Name column is found in the Group/Lists column, replace that name with the employee's Title from the Employee sheet. I then need this process to loop and continue through each column of the Groups/Lists sheet until all columns have completed. The end result should be that all names on the Groups/Lists sheet have been replaced with the corresponding Title found on the Employee sheet.

Macro To Select All Cells With Style X

Jan 26, 2012

Is there a macro that can select all cells with a certain style and then clear the values. The idea is that a big document has cells that are formatted as "entry-fields" and others that are not. I want to be able to select all of them with a macro (they are everywhere) and clear them of their contents (hence a reset button for this style).

I've tried something with If Target.Style = "entry-field" Then but i don't know how to search for them and have them in Target or a variable in the first place.

Macro To (Reset To Match Style) Does Not Exist

From the keyboard, if you select a chart with data labels, right click the data labels then "reset the data lables to match style", it works fine; but there appears not to be a programmatic equivalent to accomplishing this same task... at least the macro recorder does not shed any light on the subject. Is there code available to do the same thing?

Excel Data Using Cells Input To Filter Data And Producing Database Style Reports

Aug 6, 2013

Trying to use Excel Data List to create a database style report. IE. Originally blank sheet, which is only populated by data containing data matching "filters" input into cells ( say A1 & A2 )

I.e. A1 = Delivery week to be filtered by, and B1 Manufacturer Name

So if I type week "1" into A1 & Manufacturer "Microsoft" into A2, it will show a table only containing data Microsoft, Week 1, and associated data for those lines across the screen.

Week 1
Microsoft

PO number : Date Ordered: Address 1, 2 3 etc....

0011 01/01/13 Somewhere
0015 02/01/13 Anywhere
0213 05/01/13 Nowhere

I know this is much easier with a database, however my manager insists a database cannot be used, and it must be in a spreadsheet format !

Populate 12 Sheets With Data From Dynamic Dump Of Entire Year - Use A Macro?

May 9, 2014

I have a sheet with a data dump containing data on several railcars, taking up approximately 500 rows. Some railcars take up multiple rows, one row for each unique customer, and one railcar can have up to 5 customers' goods on it. What I need to do is get this information separated out onto monthly sheets, based on the departure date of the railcar. Every row of data in the dump has a column with the departure month I need in it, so that would make it seem easy. I have 12 sheets created one for each month, with the same headers as in the dump.

The two tricky parts:

1. The data in the dump is not sorted by railcar number, but the results in the monthly sheets need to be.

2. I don't believe LOOKUPS will work because rows in the dump repeat railcar numbers because of the multiple customers, and each of those rows has to be brought over to the monthly sheets, sorted and subtotaled by railcar number.

Finally, every week or so, I'm going to want to drop a new data dump in the dump sheet and need the monthly sheets to update dynamically. The new dump won't simply be rows added on to the same data as before, all the rows could be different. If this is solved most easily with a macro (i.e. drop the new data in the dump sheet, press a macro button and it populates the monthly sheets)

Autofill Entire Row With Data From Above Over Entire Spreadsheet

Jul 28, 2014

I'm trying to autofill a series of rows (that are blank) with data from an above row. I want to autofill the row in its entirety, not just filling in blank cells.

For instance (assuming comma is a new column). Colors listed are just a data example. Space between commas indicates a blank cell:

142, RED, GREEN, , YELLOW, , BLACK, PURPLE
(blank row)
142, GREEN, RED, ,BLACK, , PINK, ,
(blank row)
(blank row)
(blank row)
154, YELLOW, BLACK, , GRAY, , PURPLE, RED
(blank row)
(blank row)

So rather than it just completing the task in one desired cell, it would complete the task over the entire spreadsheet. Data spread can be as far as row 500 and column BY, so you can see how a copy + paste or a drag would get monotonous.

Another small example data set:

1,1,1453,0,10,-35
(blank row)
(blank row)
0,0,1448,0, ,-35
(blank row)
1, ,1443,1,3,-36
1,2,1408,2,7, ,
(blank row)
(blank row)
(blank row)
1,2, ,2,7,-39
(blank row)
(blank row)
1,3,1344,1,10,31

And column A will always have data (unless the row is completely blank.

How To Suppress Macro Search-replace Warning When No Data Found

Dec 29, 2011

I have written a macro to convert data from a report exported from Salesforce.com to a format that is acceptable for upload to our website. One of the necessary conversions is to convert values from a Boolean value to a Y/N value. I wrote a macro with a series of search-replace commands such as this:

Code:
'replace 0s and 1s in "Direct Billing" column with appropriate data
Columns("R:R").Select
Selection.Replace What:="0", Replacement:="N", LookAt:=xlPart, _
SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _
ReplaceFormat:=False
This code generates a warning when no "0" values are found:

"Microsoft Office Excel cannot find any data to replace. Check if your search formatting and criteria are defined correctly. If you are sure that matching data exists in this workbook, it may be on a protected sheet. Excel cannot replace data on a protected worksheet."

Macro To Set Border Line Styles

Jan 26, 2007

I have a range of data (not a named range, just a selection) and I typically want:

- the top 2 rows to have a heavy border on the left, top and right sides with a light line on the bottom.

- On the bottom line, I need a heavy line on the left, bottom and right sides.

- The body in between needs to have heavy lines on the left and right sides with dots for all in between.

The top 2 lines show titles, the bottom line is for totals and the body in between shows the data.

I've made 3 separate macros that do each part but I'm hoping that they can be integrated into one.

Background Color And Border Around Macro

Aug 6, 2008

I am trying to develop an Excel spread- sheet by using some macros. In detail, in my first worksheet, I have something like -

Exp1 ....
Exp2 ....

This rows are coming from another worksheet and I have used a macro (developed by me) to populate these rows. Even the number of rows to be populated is not fixed.
However, I would like to add one row with text - " Total Expense" after those rows. This row will have some background color - say Tan - and font color - say Green - and also a border around its own - in nature, the border will be thick, Double and with color Rose. I have tried the following code in macro but not working properly -

Sub Include_Fields_n_Format(loc As String)
tot_exp_scell = loc & f_scell
tot_exp_ecell = loc & (f_scell + 1)
Range(tot_exp_scell, tot_exp_ecell). Merge
