Group Data Based On Format Style

I have a spreadsheet with a content in cells. Some of the cells are indented left and some aren't. I would like a macro that groups all of the cells that are indented left above the cells that are not indented.

I've attached a spreadsheet : Book1.xlsx‎

Conditional formatting. I want to change the color of a group of cells based on data in another group of cells. Example:

If cells G8 and G9 (which are merged) are between 80% and 94%, then I9,I10,I11 (which are merged) will turn Yellow. Also, under the same scenario, IF G8 and G9 is greater than 94%, then cells I9, I10, I11 will turn Red.

Pivot Style - Modify 1st Style Under Light Category

Is there any way to modify the 1st style under the Light category? I like it because it's the most simple but it won't allow me to Modify or Duplicate. Is there a work around to duplicating/copying it? I've tried manually creating a new style but I can't get it to get the lines fills correctly.

Excel 2010 :: Can't Save Custom Table Style Format So That It Is Available Next Time When Open Workbook

I'm a fan of the Excel 2010 table styles, but can't figure one thing out. When I create a table in excel (Ctrl+T), I like to reformat it with a new defined style. When I save the style, I can use it while I'm in that instance of excel, but when I close and reopen excel, the style is gone. How to save the custom formats to they are always available?

Macro - How To Group Data Based On Date Ranges

I starting to develop a macro for grouping specific information together. part of it I need to group data based on date ranges. My plan was to, in one sheet label the start and end ranges by month (not every range starts and stops at the beginning and end of the month)

For July I would have 7/1/2012 in one cell and in another 7/28/2012
For august I would have 7/29/2012 next to it 8/25/2012, etc

I need to take those ranges and in my FY2013 sheet column I where all of my dates are listed, in the next column J if the date says 7/1/2012 to label it July, if date says 7/30/2012 to label it August, etc.

Cell Counting Based On Text And Style?

I'm putting together a calendar that will have show when people are off on holiday, training, out of the office or ill. But as it will identify people by name I have changed to cell style to reflect just what activity they are doing. As such I want to be able to count over a year just who has done what.

Is there a piece of code that can count based on the text inside a cell and it's style e.g. "20% - Accent1"

Excel Data Using Cells Input To Filter Data And Producing Database Style Reports

Trying to use Excel Data List to create a database style report. IE. Originally blank sheet, which is only populated by data containing data matching "filters" input into cells ( say A1 & A2 )

I.e. A1 = Delivery week to be filtered by, and B1 Manufacturer Name

So if I type week "1" into A1 & Manufacturer "Microsoft" into A2, it will show a table only containing data Microsoft, Week 1, and associated data for those lines across the screen.

Week 1
Microsoft

PO number : Date Ordered: Address 1, 2 3 etc....

0011 01/01/13 Somewhere
0015 02/01/13 Anywhere
0213 05/01/13 Nowhere

I know this is much easier with a database, however my manager insists a database cannot be used, and it must be in a spreadsheet format !

Format Group Of Cells

I have a spreadsheet that contains data with the following format:

5 EA/BX
12 EA/PK

Unfortunately, sometimes the data is input without a space:

5EA/BX
12EA/BX

I am looking for a way to insert a space between the data when one does not exist. (I cannot have more than 1 space between the alpha numerical character and the numerical character.)

Data Validation Lists: Tree Style

I have a data validation list in B31 "material type" that has 4 options (Adhesives, Metals, Backer Board, & Grout). Based on that selection F31 needs to display a list of "descriptions" that match that "material type". The list is in book "database.xls!sheet3". Material type list is Column A, Description is in Column E. I know that you can't link to an unopened workbook in data validation, & I've been trying to code it, but again the lack of expierence & knowledge has frustrated me again :P This code to get the info for the file to open

Group Dates By Month And Year Format

Attached spreadsheet has the resource names and their date of joinings (Column - F2), now I would like group the date of joinings into Month & Year format. I tried text formula and then converted it back to date format but its giving incorrect results. For ex - Column F2 has 9th Sep -2013, whereas my formula in H2 is showing Sep-2014. Any way to group these dates into months in a simpler way?

Once I have this grouping done, I would like to do a pivot and sort them.

Converting Text To Military Date Time Group Format

I am trying to find a way to have excel recognize text data input as date/time.

Where 02 Is the Date, 2020 is the time (military) Z is Zulu/GMT, MAR is Month and 14 is Year. I believe excel recognizes

Macro To Create Gaant Chart Style Table From Leave Data?

I have a leave history report with data for leave taken for the 2014 year. The sheet contains the following headings:

Name; Leave Start Date; Leave End Date; Date Paid; Days Taken; Roundup; Offset

The roundup column rounds the days taken up, for example if someone took 0.4 days off it would round it to 1.The offset column just subtracts the Roundup value by 1 (=Roundup-1) I think we will need this for what I am trying to do.

I have created a new spreadsheet labelled gaant chart, this shows the name of the employee with the working dates for the year and has the following data:

What I would like for the macro to do is lookup Employee 1 from my gaant chart table and search the leave history data if it finds a relevant start date for the employee it marks that date with a 1, it then looks in the offset column and marks the number of offsets to the right. For example if employee 2 took leave from 1/1/14 to 3/1/14 the macro would mark a 1 on the 1/1/14, and search the offset column which would have 2, it will then mark a 1 in the 2 cells to the right of 1/1/14 also (these being 2/1/14 and 3/1/14)

Wondering if it is possible to conditional format cells in "Jan"-"Dec" columns based on "Next" column data?

What I need is (lets say fill colour to differ) in one cell per row, based on latest input and "next" data.

So for example:

row2: May is latest input so need fill in cell +2("next" column data) from may. In this case July

row3: Feb is latest imput and "next" also 2. Result should be Apr

Finally, only one cell per row to be highlighted so need to overwrite colour fill when new data input in a cell already colour filled.

I would like to get the number of countries that a given "Name" has Partners in. (See example sheet for an illustration)

I have the ID of a group in column A. Column B represents Names. Column C gives Info about the country of "Name".

In column D I would like to get the information how many unique countries a "Name"'s group members are from. This means, not only within a single group, but in total over all groups. This means, that every same Name has the same number of countries in column D.

Formula in words:

"Sum of all unique countries in column C, if ID in column A matches any ID of Name in column B".

Group Scores Based On Value In First Column

I am trying to analyse a set of scores of different doubles tennis tournaments - new tournaments and new players are continuously being added and so need some dynamic way to analyse. I would like to extract sort of a ranking system based on the scores by each player and one way to do so is to analyse the scores by tournament. Basically the same players play in different tournaments and i want to be able to know who performs better than others i.e. get better total scores during a tournament.

The attached gives an example of the data i have as well as the result i would like to achieve. It does not really matter if a formula system or a pivot solution is provided as long as i achieve the result, and can add to it as new data is populated. I have been trying all sort of solutions using pivots, matches, lookups etc but no luck yet.

I have been trying to conditionally format each group of rows and each column and color the cell in each column of four (or less) numbers in each group that represents the maximum number.
It was easy enough to come up with the conditional formatting BUT it will take forever to do this manually. I've been told to use a macro but I know nothing of programming. Has anyone seen or heard of a macro that might already be written to perform this onerous task.

I have a Lookup table with a Group and Subgroup field. I have created a range for the Group and also for the Subgroup. On my main page, I have created a list option which allows the user to select the items under Group (Day, Colour and Time).

What I want next to do is based on the primary selection for Group; I want it to filter it on the specific Subgroup. For Example,

The User selects Colour from Group, the Subgroup will subsequently only show the appropriate selection which is Green, White and Yellow, and no further selection.

I am trying to write VBA code that groups cells between blank rows and inserts a message if a string of text (a name) is missing from the entire group. I want the code to search cells in column A and group the cells between blank cells. Use the name I input in an input box as the search criteria and insert a message in the Column C next to the last blank cell in the group and then move on to the next group and highlight the cell in red with bold text.
