Hyperlink Mailto With Large Email With Multiple Lines?

Jun 12, 2013

I have a hyperlink mailto - =HYPERLINK(CONCATENATE("mailto:",C2,"?subject=",C3,"&body=",C4),"Request Update")

But the body only supports a line or two of text, which isn't useful, and doesn't allow for different lines to be placed within it.

I then tried addeding extra text with another cell - =HYPERLINK("Mailto: "&C2&"?Subject="&C3&"&Body="&C4&" "&TEXT(C5,"$#,##0.00")&".")

But this doesn't work either. Both come up with #value error with too much text..

Hyperlink VBA Hiding / Unhiding Lines?

Feb 27, 2013

Is it possible to set up a hyperlink for a cell, when clicking on it, hides/unhides certain rows below that cell. For example, having a full employee roster, each name having 15 rows underneath. By making the Name cell hyperlink, and by clicking on it, I would like to only hide every 4, 5, & 7th line underneath the hyperlinked name. A full list could have 150 employees on one sheet.

Disabling 'mailto'

Oct 13, 2008

I am just using a simple sheet to keep track of email addresses. Every time I enter an email address it automatically creates it as a hyperlink/mailto function. So if I click on the cell, it will create a new email via outlook addressed to that person.

This is driving me nuts! I have a few thousand emails, mostly copied from other people's sheets, and 90% of them are set like this. Is there a fast way I can disable this function so that every cell is just text?

Also, How do I make the text in each of these cells read "send e-mail" rather than the whole jumbled mess that is currently in there from the combination of the cells?

Excel 2007 :: Multiple Lines In One Cell To Multiple Cells?

Mar 24, 2012

I have a column of cells with Customer info and address in each row, that I need to move into multiple columns. ie Cust name, acct #,address, city, state, zip the problem is ALL of the info for each customer is in ONE cell.To be clear, cell B1 has complete name address etc for one customer, B2 has the info for another, B3... on and on. To complicate matters as in the example, there is not a pattern in the lines. the first example shows the info beginning on the 2nd line of the cell, but the 2nd example shows info in the first line. I have tried the text to column fixed width. Didn't work because names and addresses are of varying lengths. Then I tried delimited, but there isn't a common separation between different data. I am using excel 2007. FYI I did go through many many threads and found some that were close to my problem but not close enough to work.

Email Multiple Worksheets To Multiple Recipients In One File Per Recipient?

Mar 27, 2014

I'm trying to email multiple worksheets from a list to multiple recipients in a list, but in one file per person. In a sheet called "Email list", for example, I have a list of 50 worksheet names (e.g. one for each cost centre) in column A (with a heading in cell A1, if that's OK, so the list starts in A2) and in columns B-F up to 5 recipients for each worksheet (e.g. 3 recipients might be 2 supervisors and their manager).

Also, each manager and supervisor might also receive several sheets.

Although columns B-F are presently free-format (they can be anyone's email address, regardless of whether they're a supervisor or manager), it might be easier to split these columns so B,C,D are supervisors emails and E,F are managers, if that makes it any easier creating the collated file of worksheets..?

Unfortunately the recipients might change occasionally so they can not be hard keyed into the macro itself (which would be much easier), but need to be in a table so it's easier for the user to update and maintain - in the past, I've managed to hard key the requirement into a macro which I've maintained (by recording and editing the macro), but I don't know the VB to figure this new request.

Ideally, I am trying to create a macro that can collate the various worksheets each person will receive and send the selected sheets in one file to that recipient, rather than multiple files within one email and/or multiple emails.

Returning Multiple Lines From A Table

Mar 27, 2014

I have a list of projects and a list of milestones and I want to extract every milestone for a project one by one. I have found a way to do this for one project but as there is not a fixed number of milestones, it's proving tricky to do it for multiple projects as I don't know how to tell the formula to stop looking at the Project 1 and move on to Project 3 for example.

This is a very very simplified version of my table (there are other columns inbetween and many more projects)

Project 1Milestone 1
Project 1Milestone 2
Project 1Milestone 3
Project 1Milestone 4
Project 1Milestone 5
Project 2Milestone 1
Project 2Milestone 2
Project 2Milestone 3
Project 2Milestone 4
Project 2Milestone 5

Conditional Drop-Down For Multiple Lines

In another tab (let's call this tab 2) I have to make drop-down lists, depending on the value in this drop-down the cell next to it must give the list of cars from this supplier. f.e. if I select in the first line Supplier 1, I get a drop-down list where I can select Car 1 if I select in the second line Supplier 4, I get a drop-down list where I can select Car 4, 6 or 7 etc. Because of the number of suppliers, I can not work with predefined lists where I put all the suppliers one next to the other...

have a drop-down in each line to go look for the cars depending on the supplier I selected ?
