I have a worksheet that contains thousands of patient appointment entries, there are more than one entry with the same patient details contained in the worksheet. For example; sometimes a patient will reschedule a appointment, this causes another entry to added for the new appointment. When the patient attends this appointment, the appointment status changes to Seen. But the original entry still stays Rescheduled. This there a way that we can look for identical infomation in some selected columns that match the original entry but have different infomation in some other columns:

E.G. The cells in columns A,B,C,H have identical infomation than the original entry but the cell text in column D equals to "Checked" or "Cancelled" and the cell date in column G is higher than the original entry date. If the result is true then tag the original entry as Invalid

I have an Excel spreadsheet with 3 columns (A, B, and C) and 600 rows. Each cell in A and B contains a 6-diget number. Column C is empty.

I want to determine whether the number in A1, A2, ….A600 appears anywhere in column B. If A(n) does appear in column B then I want to enter a symbol (say a Y) in C(n). If A(n) does not appear in column B then I want to enter a different symbol (say N) in C(n).

What is the formula I enter (and where) that will do that?

I have a list of about 85,000 addresses and I know that there are about 35,000 duplicates in it.

If I do 'Remove duplicates' it deletes them but takes the first one of each it finds and what I want to do is remove the duplicate with no UPRN in it (Column B)

I have a column of information, and I want to find out of there are duplicates in it without alphabetizing it. Where there is a duplicate (say E2=E5), I want to check the adjoining column to see if the value of those fields are duplicates as well (does F2=F5). So, what formula would I put in D2 to see if the value of E2 has an equal anywhere in column E, and if any duplicates are found (say E10,E33, and E43), to check if F10,F33 and F43 equal F2 (the value adjoining the cell that was searched for).

to find duplicate entries in a database by using people's last names (in column E) and birthdays (in column F). Odds are if they have the same DOB and the same last name, we've found a duplicate.

Highlight Duplicates Based On X Columns

I need to find a way to highlight duplicate records within a list. The records would first need to be compared by (1) the month (found in column A), (2) the account number (found in column B) and then (3) the commission type (found in column D).

I do not need the duplicates deleted just highlighted or better yet maybe have them identified as "Duplicates" in an empty column (such as column H).

Delete Rows Based On Duplicates In X Columns

I've been looking through various forums looking for a macro for a particular task, but I have not found something that works yet. Maybe someone could help me out? It's pretty straightforward situation.

I need a macro that removes an entire row when: information in column B and column C are both found in other rows ( duplicates).

I'm dealing with a worksheet with store record information ... Store Name (column B), Street Name (column C), State/Province, etc. I import new store records all the time and many are invalid because they share the same name and street address and therefore need to be removed. The ones that I’ve played with unfortunately end up deleting the cells only and not the entire row.

It's a tedious process to do manually remove entire rows (for duplicate column B&C) when dealing with thousands of rows and I would very much appreciate any assistance or insight into how simplify the process with a macro. I've attached a sample of what I'm working with.

Transfer Duplicates Based On Matches In X Columns

I am working on a list of agents and I want to get rid of the duplicates. I know I could use conditional formating to highlight the duplicate names but it conditional formating won't allow me to find duplicates based on three cells in a row. My code below works to an extent but it misses some of the duplicates in the list and I don't know why. I have check the cells of the duplicates and they are an exact match.

How To Highlight Duplicates Based On Multiple Columns And Remove Them

I am trying to tell the spreadsheet that if column G *and* column V are both identical to another row's column G and V, then the entire row is a duplicate and to highlight and delete it. I also want to record a macro of this process to apply to all spreadsheets.

Here are the tutorials I am looking at, but whatever I am doing is not working the way it is working for them.

Conditional Formatting, find duplicates with multiple columns [URL]...

I am highlighting cell A2, and under Conditional Formatting, I select "Formula Is" =SUM(COUNTIF($G:$G,G2),COUNTIF($V:$V,G2))>1

Then I select the format as light orange text, but it is only highlighting A2....

That is as far as I have gotten, and I still do not know how to go about deleting the duplicate entries. I have also read there are issues with recording a macro when trying to find duplicates using more than one column in the formula, but I have not gotten that far so I can't test it.

As is likely evident in my formula and process, I am not very experienced with Excel.

Pivot Table To Not Count Duplicates - But Show Duplicates When Click Into It

In short, I would like a pivot table to only count unique values, but when I click into the pivot I would like to show all instances of that value. For example:

I have a table of data that I am creating a pivot table from. There are fields for Customer ID, Task Name, Age, and Notes. There will be multiple records for a single Customer ID each time it has new notes.

I would like to create a pivot table that has Task Name in the Row Labels, Age in the Column Labels, and count of Customer ID in the Values, so that, for example, I can see how many accounts have been in the Design task for 2 days. However, when I do this it counts each record, but I would like it to count each unique Customer ID. Also, when I click into the pivot, instead of pulling up one line per Customer ID, I would like it to pull up each instance of Customer IDs in that Task Name/Age combination (similar to doing a DISTINCT in SQL).

I have a list of parts in a table. I am manually copy/pasting this list to another sheet in my workbook and then using DATA→Remove Duplicates to get a shortened list. Is there a way to automate this process?

In the attached workbook I want the yellow cells to auto-fill for me.

Pivot Table Calculated Field Based On 2 Columns?

I have a Table with 2 columns "Due Date" and "Completed Date". The pivot table from the table gives the count of each column. I want to have a calculated column giving the % complete, ie. "Count of Completed"/"Completed Date"*100. When I attempt to create this formula (using Pivot Table Options > Fields Items and Sets > Calculated field), I get a DivZero error, even though both columns are not zero. How do I create such a calculated column?

what I'm after is a macro to check the contents of Column 'A' against column 'B' and display any duplicates in Columns 'C' & 'D'.

N.B. The headings of Columns C & D are :-

D = Value Found in Column B

We have a spreadsheet in use at the moment which has various lines of information, each line has a customer name, id, request and various other bits of information which needs looking into.

The infomation is arranged onto weekly sheets and is managed manually. Once the customer request is complete, we grey out the background colour. Some outstanding issues background colours are either left blank, yellow or red, depending on whos doing them.

I was wondering if there is a search criteria that we could use that would search through all the sheets in the workbook and find any customer queries that are not greyed out and display them on the results page.

Indentify TextBox Controls In Loop

On a multipage user form, a combobox control allows the user to select a value from a list, which automatically populates textboxes with other fields from the same list. This works perfectly. I tried to set up another combobox that would work in the same manner, but referencing an entirely separate worksheet and returning the appropriate values from that list to its related textboxes. My problem is that both comboxes are automatically populating ALL the textboxes, ie combobox1 returns the correct information in its related textboxes, but also changes the information in the textboxes related to combobox2. Combobox2 does the same in reverse. I can at least see and understand why this is happening - the combobox code for both is telling ALL textboxes with numerical tags to update.

changing two variables a various amount of times and running the same procedure and copying the resutls into another sheet. Seems like a perfect place for a macro. However, these variables can be chosen from a list that the user wants. So why not build in a listbox for each one. Now I have two listboxes one for variable A and one for variable B.

The procedure in theory goes something like this we change variable A from the base case and then run the procedure for variable B, get the results, then run the scenario again but changing only variable B abnd repeat. Then once, all of the variable B scenarios are done, I want to change the variable A and then repeat and so forth.

That is the background and my main problem at this point, is that have these values in two listboxes, I know how to do the for each loops and such, however, I do not know how to do them for values in the listbox.

How do I identify the values selected in the respective listboxes and then pull them so I only use them for the for each loop?

Lookup In Table With Duplicates

In my enclosed attachment, you will see my dilemma. I have a list sort based on the cell value, but when two values are the same, it shows the first alphabetical listing twice when I INDEX. I can go into the individual cell and correct it, but how can I apply the formula to all the cells so no matter the matching values, I always get name A and B, rather than two A's, for example?

I have a list of numbers in column A of my Worksheet, and a list of names in column B.
There are duplicates in both columns:

The duplicates in column A and in column B are correct, because the same names correspond to the same numbers. I would like a formula or VBA macro, if possible, to detect when there is no correspondence, for example, if the last row above were

Count The Duplicates In At Least 2 Columns

I have columns from A to AA and need to count the duplicates in at least 2 columns and accordingly need to give them values on the basis of their ratings (A, B, C, D) and type of work (book, article etc) given in yet other columns.

I tried COUNTIF, but that does not work for multiple perimeters
I tried SUMPRODUCT, =SUMPRODUCT(($G$4:$G$3000=$G28)*($AA$4:$AA$3000=AA28)), but that only gives a multiplication of my input without the possibility of giving new values to the output.

I tried AND(IF( but that did not want to work either really...

I think the solution is ifsum, but I do not know how to use it in this scenario...

I know this all sounds a bit blurry, so let me attempt to make it more concrete.

Search 2 Columns For Duplicates

I want to search Column A in sheet1 vs column B in sheet 2. If there is a match, i want copy Column B in sheet 1 and PASTE it to Column E in sheet2. I have a macro (helped by those on here ) that will find the duplicates and copy cells from the cooresponding row only to another sheet.

The tricky thing is, the macro I have makes a complete new sheet. I want to copy the data to column E on sheet2 ONLY if there is a match for that cell. If ther eis nto a match i dont want it to put anything.
