i have this macro that saves into specific folder dependant on cell values and it works spot on with the exception that my po numbers are like st010,st011,st012 etc etc but when it saves it doesnt have the st in front. ive tried numerous ways but to no avail
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working to make an automatic result card in which excel automatically gets data of every student which is present in sheet within the workbook by simply writing roll number of the student in a cell. and i have done it easily by Vlookup and index functions but the only problem i am facing is, that i want to show the picture of each student by roll no. pictures are in one folder on my hard drive, now i want that as the roll number of the student is written the result excel should display the picture (from the folder, each picture named by roll)of the student. for example i write 1234 in roll no cell and want to get and show the picture no 1234 in another cell. In column A, i have multiple levels followed by a letter (i.e. Level 1A, Level 1B etc).
In column B, i have some other details and then so on and so forth.
In column C/E/G lets say, i want to copy the information from column A to show only items that appear as "Level 1" (not "Level 1A", i only want it to check for things without the letter at the end). Then the same in column E but with "Level 2" and so on and so forth.

Second: on a different worksheet there are products with pictures with the product number. When a user selects the product number I want to copy that picture and copy it to J42 of the first sheet. My issue is positioning the picture.

The first three columns of a spread sheet we use if function to insert values to these cells based on the next three column values. We have already done it using IF function. However, the same function should happen through macro by referring to the column headers.
Example 1:
If in column E header (E1) ‘Contract_Status’ and E2 cell value is ‘FAIL TO PAY’ then A2 value should be ‘No Owner’, B2 value should be ‘Terminated’ and C2 value should be ‘FTP’

Column B contains geographical Areas. Column C contains a list of business departments.

The values and number of these departments will vary. I want to insert lines to sum the totals at the bottom of each geographic area based on the number of different departments. So, for this example, for the North three lines would be inserted. For the South, 4 lines would be inserted.

I have a list of 130 names in column A. I have a number value between 0-10 in column B (next to the name). I need to insert the number of rows defined by the value in column B, below each row that I already have (if the value is 0, then the row needs to be deleted). We updated excel from 2003 -> 2010 and this stopped working.
We have a macro which takes pictures from a folder and pastes those pictures in the excel -sheet.
At 2003 the pictures were correctly pasted to their positions, but at 2010 the pictures appear in somewhere at the same sheet. (not at the right places, which should be at column "o" at the same row.)

What should I change for 2010?
I need to create extra rows of duplicate data. The number of duplicate rows depends on the number of semi-colons in the 15th column (column O).
Sheet 1 is the original working file. Sheet 2 is the result of how the executed macro for the first 2 lines of data. The first line in sheet 1 has 7 semi-colons, so there should be 7 rows of duplicate data created in sheet 2. The second line in sheet 1 has 6 semi-colons, so 6 duplicate lines, etc.
I want to be able to a place a picture on a workbook based on a cell. In column A, I will run a sql query to pull a list of items. In column B, I have the items formated thus they have a the .jpg. next to item of the picture i.e Hammer.jpg. whereas column A lists Hammer and Column B Hammer.jpg. In column C, I would like the pictures to reside in this column.
So far I have this macro but I can only get two pictures to come up even though my list has 4 items on it.

I want a range to be filled based on 2 cell values in my sheet. The autofill range should be filled based on the values in the input range. For instance in cell A1 I place the value 1 and in cell A2 I place the value 10, then the macro should automatically fill in the numbers from 1 to 10 in another column. If I change for instance the input values to 5 and 15, then the autofill range should fill up the numbers from 5 to 15.

I have inlcuded my workbook that I use for tracking the NFL season and I'd like to add in some team logos just to make it look a little cooler.
The attached workbook includes three sheets, the first of which uses a drop-down for selecting picks. The second sheet has the team logos and the third sheet feeds off the first.
I'd like for team logos to populate into the third sheet based on what is selected in the first sheet.
I've already tried a few methods, all unsuccessfully. I tried this [URL] which was a great idea but it didn't allow for the same image to be repeated potentially 100 times. I also tried a method involving named ranges and indirect lookups to the linked picture image but that would require a different named range for every person and every pick which isn't feasible.
if it's possible to just do a massive nested if statement with a vlookup to return an image but I haven't been successful in that either.
Is it possible to have an Image Box which opens different images based on the value of a cell. Say when A1 = 1, the picture of one thing comes up....when A1=2 and different picture and so on?

Here is the Data Entry sheet setup.
ColK --> Contains numbers starting in row 2 and ending in row 116 atm, could expand but no further than 500
ColL --> Same as above but with different numbers
ColM --> contains formulas which produce the sheet name that the data in ColK and ColL is related to (6 sheets)

I require some code that will look at each row from 2 to 500 in ColM for something other than "out of range" or nothing (the "out of range" or empty ones should be ignored), and for each relevant row it should identify the sheet name in ColM and then identify the cell that is at the cross reference of the 2 numbers from ColK and ColL and then insert a picture at that cell. Each sheet (the 6 of them) has numbers in ColA from A2 and Row1 from B1. The numbers will exact match those from ColK and ColL from the Data Entry Sheet.
I need to insert multiple images into a worksheet every 45 rows in and a specific column. I have sourced from other threads a means to insert multiple images but they are all inserted in the one cell.

Is there a way to format cells to where - when you type in a certain person's first name, it will insert something entirely different?
This has seemed to have happened on a computer at work.
In Excel, when I type in "Martha" then tab, or otherwise leave that cell, Martha changes to "Cool"
If I type in anyone elses name - it stays that name. But if I type in "Martha" .. it changes to "Cool" with the bullet and the word Cool.
I am working on transfering some code from 2003 to 2007. I have gotten almost everything to work, but am now having an issue with the way it places the pictures into my spreadsheet.
The code asks the user to select a folder containing .jpg files. It then places each of the .jpg photos onto a single spreadsheet. Each picture is suppose to be placed in a different cell. When I step through the code, the active cell changes correctly based on the offsets, but it always pastes each photo in cell B4. Through some research I have found others to see this problem with ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert in 2007.

The first code I need should be simple. I want Excel to copy cut delete files from the hardware, using data from a workbook.
There are 3 sheets:
1. "Names" - contains picture file names (without the JPG extence) in one column,
2. "From" - contains a cell with the original path to copycutdelete from
3. "Target" - has a cell with the target folder path (in case of copying/moving).
I made it in 3 sheets for making it user-friendly, since unskilled users will use the method.
I need to have 3 hyperlinks in the first sheet: "Move (cut)", "Copy", and "Delete", and by pressing the matching VB code eill be activated.
The second code should output (and print, if possible) data from a line to a pre-defind sheet.
Let's say there are 4 columns: picture file name, name of photographer, description of the photo, and the date it was taken.
There will be in the end of every line a cell with a hyperlink called "Output photo details" to output the data to specfic cells in the Print sheet (e.g. the date goes to D7, the name goes to A3, etc.). An important thing I wanna output is the picture itself (like from "Add > Picture" ment, in a location I define in the code.

I have different reports, some have fifty transactions, others have thousands. My goal is to: Insert a new row every time the values in the "Account" column meet a certain criteria, AND THEN add the totals for the Debit and Credit Columns.
Let's say I start with a table that looks like this:

I want to group the first four rows because Accounts 33010 and 33015 are in the same department. Same with 50050 and 500060. I want to then insert a row below the last row with "33015" as its Account #. And add the values for Debit and Credit. It'd look like this:

Honestly, I have tried everything. Running a Macros with Relative reference does not cut it.
