VBA, Doing Actions On Files With Sheet Data & Insert Pictures

where exactly to add the code under Tools > Macro > VB editor.

My version: Office XP Pro ("2002")

The first code I need should be simple. I want Excel to copy cut delete files from the hardware, using data from a workbook.

There are 3 sheets:
1. "Names" - contains picture file names (without the JPG extence) in one column,
2. "From" - contains a cell with the original path to copycutdelete from
3. "Target" - has a cell with the target folder path (in case of copying/moving).

I made it in 3 sheets for making it user-friendly, since unskilled users will use the method.

I need to have 3 hyperlinks in the first sheet: "Move (cut)", "Copy", and "Delete", and by pressing the matching VB code eill be activated.

The second code should output (and print, if possible) data from a line to a pre-defind sheet.

Let's say there are 4 columns: picture file name, name of photographer, description of the photo, and the date it was taken.
There will be in the end of every line a cell with a hyperlink called "Output photo details" to output the data to specfic cells in the Print sheet (e.g. the date goes to D7, the name goes to A3, etc.). An important thing I wanna output is the picture itself (like from "Add > Picture" ment, in a location I define in the code.

Some VBA Code To Insert Pictures

I am doing up a spreadsheet for work. I have a master sheet which has important 'feeder' info on it. I also have 6 other sheets where the code will reference.

Here is the Data Entry sheet setup.

ColK --> Contains numbers starting in row 2 and ending in row 116 atm, could expand but no further than 500
ColL --> Same as above but with different numbers
ColM --> contains formulas which produce the sheet name that the data in ColK and ColL is related to (6 sheets)

I require some code that will look at each row from 2 to 500 in ColM for something other than "out of range" or nothing (the "out of range" or empty ones should be ignored), and for each relevant row it should identify the sheet name in ColM and then identify the cell that is at the cross reference of the 2 numbers from ColK and ColL and then insert a picture at that cell. Each sheet (the 6 of them) has numbers in ColA from A2 and Row1 from B1. The numbers will exact match those from ColK and ColL from the Data Entry Sheet.

Insert Chosen Pictures To Every Nth Row

I need to insert multiple images into a worksheet every 45 rows in and a specific column. I have sourced from other threads a means to insert multiple images but they are all inserted in the one cell.

What I require is the means to either place them directly into specific cells or move them to the correct cells once in the worksheet.

As you will see I am also attempting to resize the images once they have been inserted.

Below is the code I have thus far.

ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert With 2007

I am working on transfering some code from 2003 to 2007. I have gotten almost everything to work, but am now having an issue with the way it places the pictures into my spreadsheet.

The code asks the user to select a folder containing .jpg files. It then places each of the .jpg photos onto a single spreadsheet. Each picture is suppose to be placed in a different cell. When I step through the code, the active cell changes correctly based on the offsets, but it always pastes each photo in cell B4. Through some research I have found others to see this problem with ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert in 2007.

Excel 2010 :: Hyperlinks With JPG Files Using Internet Explorer Do Not Show Pictures On Win7

In Excel 2007, Hyperlinks in cells pointing to jpg files in a subfolder display with internet explorer. On my WinXP/Intnernet Explorer 8/Office 2007 system these links work fine.

When sending the excel and jpg files to another person with Win7/Office 10, jpg hyperlinks work and launch Internet Explorer but come up blank. (Hyperlinks to PDF files work fine and show up in Acrobat, just the jpg's come up blank in Explorer.)

Questions:
What is causing this, a setting in Explorer/Win7 or Excel?
Can I change Excel hyperlink default software to use something other than Explorer to display the jpg files?

I have an workbook with pictures that are linked to external picture files, and they are placed in the workbook via macro. When I email the file to another computer and open it, the pics do not display and show an error:

The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted, Verify that the link points to the correct file and location.

I would like to be able to save the workbook with the pictures in them (without having to archive them) so that I can open it and see them on another machine.

I have inserted pictures to a spreadsheet report and wish to remove them using a macro assigned to a command button. I recorded the macro below but it does not work. When the macro is run a message is returned that says "The item with the specified name can't be found."

ActiveX Textboxes On Sheet Are Being Recognized As Pictures?

I have two text boxes on my sheet that I am using as a log in sheet. I am not sure what triggers them but they stop allowing me to type in them to log in and instead are recognized by excel as pictures and ask me if I want to format them. I have fixed them in the past by deleting them and adding new Active X text boxes to the sheet but then after a while they turn back into pictures.

By the way the text boxes have been named T1 and T2 and are used in VBA behind the scenes to determine if the details that are typed into them match existing accounts.

How To Use Multiple Sheet Data Files

I want to have a primary sheet that refers to two another sheet in the same document.

Basically, the person using the spreadsheet will tell the first sheet what data they're looking for from within the dataset contained in the second sheet and the third.

The first sheet will then have an area which it outputs which data matches the criteria.

Here's some specifics. It's for Pathfinder Deities. The user will input which domains they wish to use and the sheet will output which deities, if any, will be appropriate to select.

The second sheet contains all the Cleric Domains and which Deities are associated with them. The third sheet contains the alignment of each Deity.

If it was not obvious, in the first sheet, the player will indicate which Domains they wish to use for their character as well as the alignment of the deity they wish to use. Once they've indicated what their choices are, the first sheet will show which deities are available given their choices.

I'd prefer to do this without using macros, but if it's easier to use them, then I'll just have to go for it.

I have .Raw data in 3 different configurations, which can be opened in Excel.

I want to automatically extract relevant data (Columns) from these 3 different types of .Raw data before running analysis using chart using Macros.

Now here is the problem, Data from the .Rawdata needs to be accumulated. That is, I have multiple sheets of excel, which I have to open manually and extract specific data from individual columns onto another sheet to accumulate every data before running analysis.

I have a list of petroleum accumulations with three types of data: Reservoir depth, Net Pay and Gas-oil ratio. for each accumulation, the number of reservoirs within each can vary. So I may have a accumulation with only one set of those stats, or an accumulation with 20.

I need the program to go down an alphabetized list (8000 entries long) and after every unique accumulation name average the values of the stats(which are in three separate columns) then put it in one row perhaps beginning in Column M or another sheet. So that I have a list of accumulations with the average of those stats, one entry per accumulation name.

see attached workbook. I want VBA to insert an index/match forumla on sheet 1 to lookup a value from sheet 2. I don't want it to specify a range though. I want VBA to look to see if there is data above and to the left of the cell and if it is true insert the index/match formula. Then it won't matter what row or column I put the headings in.

Trigger Actions For Three Choices In A Macro

I have a series of macros altering various workbooks and sheets. They're numbered Step1, Step2, etc. In my Step5 I have a series of Case statements in a macro, and I don't know how to get it to do what I want next. I have NOT tried running this code yet, and I'm sure I have something(s) wrong in it.

1) If the selection in DstWbk, sheet "Steps", is "01DSP" through "11DSP" the macro needs to delete specific columns in the SrcWbk, and then move to the next step (6).

2) If the selection in DstWbk, sheet "Steps", is "*DSP" the macro needs to go directly to the next step (6)

3) If the selection in DstWbk, sheet "Steps", is anything else the macro needs to flash a generic "No Data found" message and move on to Step7.

The part of the code that's throwing me begins at 'Select only the specific regional data' and ends at the "Case Else MsgBox"

Can Worksheet_Change Routine Perform Actions On Different Worksheet

I'm using a Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal target As Range) macro on Worksheets(2) to perform certain actions when a selection from Worksheets(1) is pasted to Worksheets(2). Before ending the Worksheet_Change sub I'd like it to deselect the copied selection on Worksheets(1). I've tried to do this by selecting Worksheets(1) and moving the cursor, but VB ignores the "With Application.Worksheets(1)" instruction. Removing "Private" from the sub heading makes no difference.

Is it possible do this with a Worksheet_Change routine? If so, how?
