Lookup: Blank & Duplicate Criteria

I would like to create a lookup facility that will allow me fill in data automatically as the example shows below.

The following is a brief of the data i have.

RD Database EX Code Ex Name RD Name
Central LondonCL Jerome De Chassey
Midlands CM Paul Hendron
London N/EAEA Mark Whitley
Midlands EM ABX Abbots Paul Hendron
London W/NHCEM BJA Blisworth Kim Mears

As you can see their is duplicate data as well as blank data, but i would like a field where the user types the following:

Database Ex Code (e.g.)
EM ABX or
CM

and this will automatically fill the EX Name and RD Name fields.

Lookup Values Where There Are Duplicate Matches

When performing a VLOOKUP, it returns the first instance of a match in the the lookup range.

So in the spreadsheet I have, I'm performing a vlookup....and finding a match...and then returning a value 1 column to the right...

What I "need" however is a formula that will accept that there is more than 1 row where the match exists and total all the values for that match.

I vaguely understand array formulas but have not been successful and am looking for some tips ...guidance etc....

Filtering Out Duplicate Lines Using Lookup?

I am trying to setup a table for someone to track and schedule service hours on heavy machinery.

I have a table with columns for Make, Model/SN(which is the unique field in each row), date of last service, hours at last service, current hours and an hours since last service. Service needs to be done at 500 hours so I filter the table based on the hours since last service for >= 400 hours. That's fine, but it shows multiple lines per machine. Is there a way to use a custom filter to find duplicate values in the Model/SN column and then only show the row with the max date of last service?

I'm sure this would be a cinch with VBA, but I would like to find a way that if something changes later on after I am gone that he can still possibly figure out how to make it work.

Lookup Value Using 2 Criteria - Criteria Moves Between Columns

I've got a sheet where I've got products in one column.

The second criteria is "week #" for which the row remains consistent but the column varies e.g. "week 8" could be in cell L12 today and in L18 tomorrow.

I would like to return the value of the cell at which a particular product and week intersect. e.g. if "product a" is in B20 and "week 8" is in L18, I want the value of cell "L20" returned.

Product to determine Row #, Week to determine Column # for returning value.

If they interest multiple times, I would like to sum up the values intersecting.

Neither product nor week # is unique in the sheet.

Consolidation Sheet Without Any Duplicate - Lookup Multiple Values

I have a list of ID's but in the same list there are duplicates, then I have my consolidation sheet without any duplicates, my issue is that I need to have the contents of a different column for each of the ID's.

Data sheet example

Column A (ID) | Column D (Result)

1111 first
2222 other
1111 second
3333 another test
2222 other two's
1111 third

Consolidation sheet

Column A (ID) | Incident 1 | Incident 2 | Incident 3

1111 first second third
2222 other other two's
3333 another test

Is there any formula/vba which could perform something similar?

Multiple Duplicate Lookup Results In Single Cell

I have attached a copy of what I am trying to do. I've been researching vlookup for a while and everything I try doesn't seem to work. I'm also fairly new to Excel, so most of this is my first time trying these formulas.

In the attached test.xls file, I have two sheets created. The first is "Responsibility," and the second is "List." The data in "List" is what I am trying to pull from. As you can see, the people's names are listed more than once as the list goes down. On the "Responsibility" page I have each person's name one time. In the "Extinguisher" column, I'm wanting it to list every number that is found next to the person's name on the "List" sheet. For example:

Column B2 on the "Responsibility" sheet should read as follows:

1,2,3,17,24

Here is the formula I have in these cells:

=VLOOKUP($A2,List!$A$3:$C$38,3,TRUE)

Transpose Duplicate Rows Into Columns Including Blank Cells

I found this great macro to use in a spreadsheet I'm trying to transpose from rows to columns, however, I need a place holder for blank cells: [URL] .....

I was able to use the macro in the last post by Ochenden but the blank cells need to have a placeholder.

How to change the macro or come up with a different script for me to use?

Find And Isolate Duplicate Criteria

I have a worksheet that tracks errors (10 different error types are tracked) that may occur on anywhere from 20 to 200 different jobs. What I need to be able to do is find all the jobs for any given day where a specific error has occurred two or more times for that day. Often a specific error will occured many times on the same job on the same day. What I need to end up with is only one row for each job that shows the Date/Time (m/d/yyy h:nn), JobNumber (number), ErrorNumber (text field) by either hiding or deleting those rows that do not meet the criteria.

I have sales rep data with column headings as Sales Rep, Sales Date, Sales Item Code and Customer ID. There are only 2 sales reps in the data, I'll call them Rep A and Rep B. I need to extract rows where Rep A and Rep B have made sales on the same day to the same customer (it doesn't matter what type of sales). I don't want to extract sales by only one rep, it must be both reps on the same day to the same customer. I have tried a pivot table but it identifies all sales. Can this be done?

Find Top X Percentages With Duplicate Criteria Lookups

I have a matrix of suppliers which stores quality ratings against various service parameters. Customers then order their priorities and my intention is to then generate a report which lists the suppliers that meet their parameters.

a method of generating this report (on ClientRecommendation in the attached) which lists the top 5 suppliers under each weighted parameter, together with their scores? I realise that the answer must lie in some combination of INDEX and MATCH, but I cannot get my brain around how to generate the row numbers, as top 5 suppliers often share the same score for a particular parameter. For example, if I set up a row lookup on 80% I can so far only get one occurrence of 80% and no others.

This is probably not clear from my explanation, so I have attached the full example, from which it should be more obvious.

I have also seen a very clever VBA solution (#60695), which I think may be the neatest method, but I am not knowledgeable enough to make it work for my case.

I have a long list of work items based on a 7 digit number. The work item is referenced by a code named DS or WU.Example as below and the work item# has duplication throughout the list.(work item # repeated)

I need to create a formula that counts how many duplications of work items, by the number of DS or WU. Based on the above example, the formula should arrive at the results below

Delete Duplicate Rows Using Data In Column A As Criteria

I have a spreadsheet that has thousands of rows of data with maybe 6 columns.

I would like to remove the duplicate rows but the problem I am facing is that I would like to use column A as the criteria.

There are some duplicates in column A but the issue is that the data in column B, C, D, etc may not be the same for each duplicate.

So A1 is the same as A6
A1 has data in B1 and C1, no data in D1
A6 has data in B1, C1 and D1

I need to delete either row A1 or row A6, it is irrelevant which row it is but one of them has to go.

Lookup Find If Copy In Next Blank Cell

I have a workbook with 12 sheets. On the 12th sheet I need some VB to go to each of the other tabs and find the letter “E” or “H” in column F. Once the “E” or “H” is found in column F and a number =>9 is found in column E then copy that row from column A-F and paste this row to sheet 12.
On sheet 12, I would like to be able to paste the row in a way that will hold the date in column A. The date can also be copied from each sheet found in cell E1. Also, the tab name has to be copied to sheet 12 with the row the E or H was found if “=>9 criteria” was met.

LOOKUP Question Ignoring Blank Cells

I am trying to add up wins and loses for individuals on a team. 6 players
There are 3 games per match and one match a week for 15 weeks. One sheet per week.
The players are inputted randomly each week. And the scores are entered after the match.

The following is a part of the formula that I am using but it returns a #NA because the cells in the weeks not played yet are blank, players and scores. Is there a better way to do this or a way I can ignore the blank cells until they are entered. Thanks in advance.

=SUM(LOOKUP($A$17,'Week 1'!$C$20:$D$23,'Week 1'!$E$20:$E$23),LOOKUP($A$17,'Week 2'!$C$20:$D$23,'Week 2'!$E$20:$E$23),etc.)

A17 is the players name, 1st range is where the players name would be entered, 2nd range is where the score is entered.

I have duplicate product ids on same date with different unit sold and need to extract all the unit sold for a product id on a particular date. How to concatenate a formula? The array formula that I use does not work:

I have attached a workbook with 2 worksheets Refund & Factor. In brief I wish to work out the refund on a ticket. To do this I have entered the start date & surrender date. In C29 I have a formula that gives the datediff in months & days. I then have some VBA that extracts the numbers and enters them into D29 & E29.

I now need a formula to look at the factor sheet and find the intersection between 3 (months) & 19 (days) which is 13.96 and copy this to B36 on the refund sheet.

Using Lookup(2,1/) For 3 Criteria

Currently using Lookup(2,1/...) to match 2 criteria before giving me my end result. It works perfectly. I'm now needing to match 3 criteria... is there an easy way to modify this to allow it? My Current formula looks like

i am having problem with two-way lookup criteria.I have a chart for permissible weight as per height of a person.But there is another criteria of age-e.g.col A (A8:A25)has the various height-groups(from156cm to 190cm) and row 7 (B7:I7) has the age-groups(from 15 years to 48 years) .All figures of weight are within B8:I25.Now if i want to get the permissible weight of a person whose height and age are known ,how do i get using the lookup function?

I need some VBA help for my project...

attached is my sample spreadsheet...
I need the excel to be program so that when i input the 'Grade' and 'T', it will automatically select the py value.

Say i select the Grade S275, and input T= 10.4, thus excel will look up at the S275 table, then to the T< 16 (because T=10.4) and thus select '275' and input it at cell E7.

if i put input Grade S355 and input T=43, then it will look up at the S355 table, then to T<63, and then select '335' and inout at cell E7

Lookup With Two Criteria

I am having some difficulty creating a lookup that takes two values and uses them both to perform an action analagous to a vlookup. That is, use the two input criteria to select a roow of data, and then taking an input column number to return the resulting cell's value. I cannot concatonate and create an index because my second value is a number that may not match exactly. I also need it not to involve too many loops as it will be used thousands of times on the same sheet on my client's older machines.

I have seen the listmatch and matchinglists examples on Ozgrid and they do not quite address my need. I am not an excel novice, but my VBA is not that strong. the codes I have written to date ( attached) will not allow my data set to be on a different tab than the tab on which the function is used, as i require.

2 Criteria Lookup Without #N/A

I am trying to lookup the value in a table based on two criteria. For the purpose of illustration, I attached the file here. What I am trying to do is that I want to fill Table 2 with data from Table 1 which match the company and the dates. If all the dates match for the companies, that problem would be much easier, However, as you can see the dates from each company do not match on the same row,totally massed things up. In my real file I have 70 companies, any one have a solution for this??

Excel 2010 :: Pulling Data Based On Multiple Criteria With Duplicate Values

I have a sheet (see Sheet 1) from a report we run which lists the following information: Personnel Number, Amount, Wage Type. This is generated for 1000's of employees, with each personnel number being repeated several times in column A.

I am trying to pull specific data to another sheet (see Sheet 2), which would ideally generate the sum of "Amount' for a specific wage type for each personnel number. The issue is is that there may be dplicates of the wage type for each ID number (which is also repeated).

For example, the total salary amount on sheet 2 for ID#12345678 would be 0, while for #9876543 it would be 1250. Is there a formula I could use on sheet 2 column B that would generate this?
