Loop Through UserForm ListBox

Apr 30, 2009

The compile errors were happening in the For i statement, interesting enough the compile error went away after I closed the demo/example worksheet that had it in there too...? Not sure if that was the exact fix/trick. Now comes the next error: Run-time error '13': Type mismatch on the line highlighted below.

What else can cause this Run-Time error?? or is there another way to carry the listbox result into that second column. I am starting to think that the Run-Time is because the value selected was not found in that second column, or I am looking in the wrg column.....

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()

Dim lbVal As Long

If ListBox1.ListIndex = -1 Then Exit Sub
'Not sure that I need the next line. Listbox is a SingleSelect.
For i = ListBox1.ListCount - 1 To 0 Step -1
If ListBox1.Selected(i) = True Then
lbVal = ListBox1.Value

Remove Duplicate Values From Listbox?

May 14, 2014

Column A has values increasing by 1 but not necessarily each row, i.e.

1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 4 5 5 5 5 7 7 7 8 8 9 10 10 11 11 11 11 12 13 13 14 14 14

I have a listbox which I want to Initialize by listing these values but not duplicating them (so in this case it would contain 1-14). Here is the mindblowingly complicated code I currently have:

[Code].....

This gives me the list as it appears on the sheet but doesn't get rid of the duplicates for me.

Store Row Number Within Loop And Delete All Stored Rows After Loop?

Sep 11, 2013

I have working code that returns a row number within a for loop based on parameters I set.

Each time the for loop runs I would like to store this row number, then after the loop has finished, delete all stored rows.

Code:
for rowNum = 1 to x (some variable end row number which I already have worked out using End(xlUp).Row)
if x = y then
*storedRow = rowNum
end if
next rowNum
*

Lines with a * are the bits I can't work out. I've been trying to understand arrays by reading posts on what other people have done, but I can't fit (or fully understand) the reDims, or reDim preserves into my code. I've seen what appear to be quite complex ways involving uBounds and LBounds, but unfortunately I can't see how to use them.

All I want is to simply keep adding a row numbers to a variable, (i.e. row 2, 5, 20, 33, 120, etc) and then delete those specific rows.

What i want to do, when a user clicks a button, for a code to only open the files that are selected. So for example, the user selects Three.xls and Five.xls - the code would need to ignore the others and open the selected files.

VBA Loop To Populate Cell Range From Listbox Not Working?

Apr 20, 2012

I am trying to use VBA code to take the relevant selections made to populate a Listbox and to insert them back into a cell range within the worksheet. The code I have come up with so far is:

Private Sub cmdApply_Click()
Dim i As Integer
Dim j As Integer
Dim StartRow As Integer
Dim EndRow As Integer
Dim StartCol As Integer
Dim EndCol As Integer
Dim temp

[code]....

The code should take any data within the listbox and insert the individual text into subsequent cells across the specified cell range. However, I keep getting various error messages. I have tried permutations of the code which do run but which copy a single entry from the listbox across the whole cell range!

Loop Populate Dependent ListBox From ComboBox Selection

Feb 3, 2014

I have a form that an administrator will open to search for items needing approved (ie. status is "Submitted" and they'll be going in to confirmit). The datasource is a table. For these purposes I'll arbitrarily call it Table1 for ease. There are multiple columns in the table, and I'll set the column width to "0" for those I don't want displayed, so we'll call the columns to be displayed Col2, Col3, and Col22. There are two dependents, because Col2 is the Division, of which there are 3 (Central, East, and West). The administator will select their Division and the associated ListBox will display results for all locations having a item status of "Submitted". Col3 will be the branch name, and Col25 with be a total $ amount of the order. Cbo1 (ComboBox1) will house the Private Sub Change() for the macro after a division has been selected.

Thus far I have thought of using a loop such as:

Code:
Private Sub ComboBox1_Change()
For n = 1 to ws.ListObjects(1).DataBodyRange.Rows.CountIf ws.ListObjects(1).DataBodyRange.Cells(n,2) = Me.ComboBox1.Value and ws.ListObjects(1).DataBodyRange.Cells(n,25) Like "*Submitted*" ThenMe.ListBox1.AddItem = If ws.ListObjects(1).DataBodyRange.Rows(n).Value2End IfNext n
End Sub

I've got a mismatch in the the Value2 type for the .AddItem. Not sure how else to approach though.

Excel 2010 :: Add Single Record To Multiple Column Listbox In A Loop From Array

Mar 19, 2014

Win7/2010

I have an array PeopleList(6,320) that contains

PersonID, FirstName, LastName, Email, Phone, Notes

What I'm trying to do. I have two separate requirements:

(1) To add the whole array to a listbox on form initialization - see Sub UserForm_Initialize()
(2) To clear the listbox and re-add only certain items based on what's typed in a textbox - see Sub txtSearchTerm_Change()

I have two errors:

Error 1 in UserForm_Initialize()

The listbox contents need transposing! It is displaying as

Code:
1 2 3 4 5
Tom Ben Heidi Julie Mark
Smith Jones Evans Simpson Petersen
x@yo.com a@bo.com c@do.com e@fo.com g@ho.com
02071001022 02071001026 02071001027 02071001028 02071001029
Friend

When it should be displaying as
:
Code:
1 Tom Smith x@yo.com 02071001022 Friend
2 Ben Jones a@bo.com 02071001026

Is there a way to transpose the array?

Error 2 in txtSearchTerm_Change()

I cannot find anywhere - even on MSDN - all the information I need how to correctly add a single record to a multiple-column listbox! What I'm trying is:

Code:
For i = 0 To UBound(SearchList) If InStr(1, SearchList(i), SearchTerm) 0 Then
With lstPeople
.AddItem
For j = 0 To UBound(PeopleList, 1)
.List(c, j).Value = PeopleList(j, i)

[Code] ......

How do I add a record to the listbox????

Full code for reference:

Option Explicit

Private PeopleList As Variant
Private SearchList As Variant
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()

[Code] .......

VBA To Remove / Delete Based Off Single Criteria Without Loop

Apr 23, 2013

I'm okay with Excel, but I'm just getting into utilizing VBA and I've been searching high and low for a simple VBA code that will remove/delete rows based off a single criteria without loop as there are over 40,000 rows. I tried a couple that I found onilne, and adapting them to my criteria range, but no luck. (All the ones that I found that work use loop and it takes about 15 mins to run through the entire spreadsheet)

I would like to maintain my first row as it's my headers. My single criteria is to remove all rows that have "NO" in column D.

Feb 5, 2010

I want to design a search form in excel that will lokk for the values in excelsheet and when match occurs then pop up those rows in listbox in the form. There are different criterias: one is Client_no or Policy_no ,If the person knows this no then he can simply type it in the textnox and press search and then the matching row will be displayed in listbox. If the user doesn't know the policy_no then he can try other things in the frame e.g First name,Last name,any part of address(so hopefully we'll use like operator here),Postcode.

VBA Loop - Remove Single Character From Cell String Then Calculate New Value In Cell

Mar 1, 2012

I have a string of text in cell A2. In cell B2 of my spreadsheet is a formula that calculates a number based on the text string in cell A2.

I want to write a VBA loop that removes a single character from the cell A2 string, then calculate the new value in cell B2. I want this loop to continue until the value in B2 falls below a set value (in this case 60).

My code so far
Sub trim_text()
Dim mytext As String
Dim myanswer As Integer
mytext = Range("A2")
myanswer = Range("B2")
Do While myanswer > 60
mytext = (Right(mytext, Len(mytext) - 1))
Loop
End Sub

This obviously does not work. In my excel table I have a formula in cell B2 to calculate "myanswer" will this work, or does that code have to be placed into the VBA code?

Set Label Caption Based On Listbox Rows?

Code:

This code works fine. NOW, what I need to do, is set individual labels, based on the values in the listbox, BUT, here is the kicker - I don't want to select any of the listbox values. I know there will be seven rows in the listbox that correspond with seven labels.

What I nede to do, is set the first label.caption as the first row in the listbox. The second label as the second row, etc. The listbox only has one column, and I have tried the following code, but it doesnt work.

Code:

Listbox Selection And Deletion Of Non-conforming Rows

Sep 12, 2012

I have a listbox on a userform and dependent on which of the 9 values they select, I want to delete the rows in a range that do not contain the string.

I can get the solution using a match on the listbox items but not the reverse, i.e. delete non matches, dependent upon the variety of values that can be selected.

I could potentially use a filter to drop them out, is this the best way? Always struggled trying to build multi filters.

Remove Many Rows At Once

Apr 4, 2014

I am using the following code to remove an entire row if a specific cell in that row contains "remove":

iLastRow = Cells(Rows.Count, "D").End(xlUp).Row
For i = iLastRow To 1 Step -1
If Left(Cells(i, "D").Value, 4) = "remo" Then
Rows(i).Delete
End If
Next i

However, from what I can see, it starts from the bottom and look upward, removing each line as it finds it. The problem is, there could be upward of 500 lines that need to be deleted. This coding looks and removes lines one at a time and can take a while. Is there any way I can get this done faster?

During the previous steps of my macro, I sort the column (Column D) that has the "remove" in it, so all of the "remove"s are adjacent to each other in Column D of my file.
