Macro - How To Remove Delete Prompt When Deleting A Sheet
Jul 22, 2013
I have a Macro which deletes a sheet called "Pre selection" with:
Sheets("Pre selection").Select
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.Delete
It asks me every time if I am sure and I have to click to continue. Is there any way to remove this prompt or set it to continue without my intervention?

whenever you want to delete a sheet, excel would prompt you to ask you if you are sure you want to delete the sheet. im making a vba so that the sheets will delete upon workbook close, but i dont want to be prompted everytime to be sure to delete it when running the vba macro. Also, i would like to avoid being asked to save any changes to my workbook

Create a smart macro which will remove all references to the #REF! which is left when rows are deleted. It would have to remove all trace of it from any equation it may be in (i.e. if it was in an averaging equation, it would need to remove the preceeding comma as well:
=average(a1,a2,!#REF!,a4 .........)

Macros are just not my strong suit. I can usually find my answers here but this one has me stumped. I have rewritten this thing everywhich way but loose and this is my latest version.
Sub SetProtect()
'
' protect Macro
' prompts for password protection
'
' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+p
'
Dim Response As String
Dim Answer As Integer
SetProtect:
Response = InputBox("Enter password")
If Response = "safety2" Then.......

Sub DeleteSheetsPlease()
Dim ws As Worksheet
For Each ws In ThisWorkbook.Worksheets
Application.StatusBar = "checking " & ws.Name
[code] .......
This skips "Parameters" and "About", then it deletes a single sheet (that does not match "Parameters" or "About"),
BUT THEN IT STOPS, leaving "deleting [WSNAME]" in the appstatus. It's like it skips the "Next ws" statement altogether after deleting a sheet.
I want it to keep looping on all the sheets, but that delete action seems to kill the looping...

I have used the following Macro that deletes the Macro code. It then saves the file and quits excel.
*************************************
Sub removeAllCode()
Dim awi
Dim awcl As Integer
Dim count As Integer
Dim i As Integer 'loop counter
On Error Resume Next
count = ActiveWorkbook.VBProject.VBComponents.count
For i = 1 To count
Set awi = ActiveWorkbook.VBProject.VBComponents.Item(i)
awcl = awi.CodeModule.CountOfLines
awi.CodeModule.DeleteLines 1, awcl
Next i
Set awi = Nothing
ThisWorkbook.Save
Application.Quit
End Sub
*************************************
However when I open the Excel File, I still get the Macro Prompt. I have checked in Macro list as well as in VB Editor and no Macro code exists
If I have the file manually (or do a save as) and then reopen the file, I no longer get the Macro prompt.
I have tried various examples listed in different forums/sites but nothing works.

I've attached the sheet I'm working with. I need to delete most of column F and shift the rows to the left, but when I delete the cells it doesn't give me a prompt to shift the row, it just deletes the entire column or individual row. I need them to shift, what can I do?

When right clicking on the sheet tab, I need to know if it is possible to remove the "Delete" from being an option. My workbook is structured to where if a single sheet is deleted, it screws up all my formulas. I tried to just password protect the workbook, but doing that removes the "Rename" function, which I still need.

Currently use this macro (see below) but occasionally I have more rows than 842. I could increase to 10000 and this would work but looking for a more automated macro that will automatically remove duplicates from all rows i.e. a macro that works out all rows.
Sub copyTab()
Cells.Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("filtered_data").Select
Range("A1").Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Columns("A:A").Select
Application.CutCopyMode = False
ActiveSheet.Range("$A$1:$J$842").RemoveDuplicates Columns:=1, Header:=xlYes
End Sub

I have been able to put together a pretty hefty MACRO. I found out that some of the files I am importing may result in no data due to the manipulations I am doing. This causes a problem when I try to subtotal the data on each sheet. Is there a way to have the MACRO delete a sheet if cell a2 is blank and then continuw with the rest of the MACRO?

excel macros and only know how to record certain tasks, and then edit after recording the task.
I am working on a project to automate a daily routine task for a company which involves creating a new tab and inputting various datas.
How can I create a macro such that I create a new tab and a combobox appears asking me to input the date in a particular cell?
This is the first in a number of steps for fully automating this process.
So far I only have this to create a new tab.
------------------------
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
'
'
ActiveSheet.Copy After:=ActiveSheet
End Sub

I have a macro that performs an operation on all Excel files in a given folder. The only problem I had was I couldn't walk away until it was done because the files themselves had macros that gave me a Yes/No prompt to recalculate.
I already have a calculate command in my macro so how can I override this command without physically selecting and clicking "No" with my mouse and without editing the macros that are already in the files (each unique and embedded in the individual worksheets). I cant edit each file because there are close to 300 of them.

I need to put together a macro, which will be assigned to a command button, that will prompt the user for a pre-specified password, and, if the password is correct, return a pre-specified value in a different cell. Is there any way to do this?
To put it in perspective, at my company we have approval sheets that need to be signed by several executives that are scattered all over the building. The first executive gets the copy, signs it, sends it off, etc. They tend to dissappear on occasion, so we are looking to make it all electronic, where they can access the file in a shared folder, and the if they enter their password correctly, their initials are input into the specified cell. They can than save the file for the next executive to do the same.
