Copy One Cell Fomula To Another

Feb 15, 2009

I would like to copy one cell formula to another but i would like the constant to remain intact. When i pull it over to another cell there is an incremental effect.

from:
=SUM(LEN(B9:B300)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B9:B300,B4&","&D8,"")))/(LEN(B4&","&D8))

to
=SUM(LEN(B9:B300)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B9:B300,B5&","&D8,"")))/(LEN(B5&","&D8))

But i want it to be either

=SUM(LEN(B9:B300)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B9:B300,B4&","&D8,"")))/(LEN(B4&","&D8))

or better still simple increment just value
=SUM(LEN(B9:B300)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B9:B300,B4&","&D9,"")))/(LEN(B4&","&D9))

Rolling Sum Fomula

Aug 13, 2009

I need a formula to give me a ROLLING SUM of the last 12 entries in a column, to give a rolling year sum.

Each month a new number would be added to the column at the end just before the rolling sum calculation.

The formula then would sum the new entry plus the preceding 11 entries.
E.g. Cell values as follows: A1=10, A2=6, A3=3, A4=9, A5=4, A6=5, A7=13, A8=2, A9=7, A10=1, A11=14, A12=5

Say the sum is in cell A13, the sum=79.

A row is inserted above A13 and 7 is entered.

Now the sum calculation is in cell A14 and the calculation is from A2:A13 which equals 76.

Fomula To Calculate Supply Vs Demand - Stock

Sep 3, 2008

I have a spreadsheet which uses MS Query to import data from our MRP System. This Spreadsheet has all new orders and qtys required per sales order etc. Each Part number may have several sales orders and different qtys for each. I am looking for help to write a fomula which looks the required qty`s for each sales order & part and check another sheet which has all the avaliable stock to sell on it and populate a column next to the qty req`d with what if anything is available.
Both the orders sheet and the stock sheet are MS Queries which refresh at a given interval so cells may change position.

Cutdown Example of Orders Sheet.

Sales Order No. ¦ Part ¦ Qty Req`d ¦
--------------------------------------
1234 ¦ Apple ¦ 12 ¦
6777 ¦ Apple ¦ 16 ¦
7989 ¦ Pear ¦ 4 ¦

cutdown Example of Stock Sheet.

Part ¦Qty in Stock ¦
----------------------
Apple ¦ 12 ¦
Pear ¦ 3 ¦

Now the fomula should bring back the following

Sales Order No. ¦ Part ¦ Qty Req`d ¦ Qty Avaliable ¦
----------------------------------------------------
1234 ¦ Apple ¦ 12 ¦ 12 ¦
6777 ¦ Apple ¦ 16 ¦ 0 ¦
7989 ¦ Pear ¦ 4 ¦ 3 ¦

Macro To Hide / Unhide On Cell

Oct 20, 2012

need to create a macro that will hide/unhide rows. I have a list of items that need to be completed and under each item is another list that explains how to complete the items on the first list.

Let’s say for example, How to bake a cake

I want rows 2 – 6 to be hidden when the file is opened and then unhide when A1 is clicked. Then hide again when A1 is clicked again.

I have a huge list of items that need to work in this format.

The other thing I need is when the document is printed all of the hidden items are printed.

Macro To Hide Rows If Cell Value Is Same?

Oct 23, 2013

I Have Values in Cells A29 thru F45. I want to hide the entire row if the value in Column C is the same as the value in Column C in the row directly above, i.e, if the value in C30 is the same as C29, Row 30 should be hidden.

Based upon the logic built into the table values. if the value in C30 matched C29, all of the values from C30 thru C45 would match C29 with a need to hide all rows starting at Row 30 and then thru row 45. The values could begin repeating at Cell C31 with the value in C31 matching C30 with a need to hide from row 31 thru 45.

I am thinkin a Selection.AutoFilter type of macro?

Hide/unhide Col Macro Based On Cell Value

Aug 27, 2009

I have a worksheet that contains 10 columns of data. In row 2 I have a formula that will display the result "x" if the data in that column should NOT be hidden, and for all columns of data without an "x" in row 2 I would like to hide the entire column.

Therefore, I am looking for a macro that looks across the range of cells E2:N2 and if there is not an "x" in the cell, then hide that column...

To make things a little more complicated, the value in row 2 will change when other values are amended on other worksheets that feed into this one and I will need the macro to 'unhide' the column as soon an "x" appears in row 2

Macro To Hide / Unhide Worksheet Based On Cell Value

Jul 18, 2010

I would like to create a macro/vb code that will unhide a worksheet if cell value is greater than zero, or hide the worksheet if the cell value is zero.

I'm not too familiar with VB code and was wondering if this is possible? I have my doubts, since it means that the code must constantly be running in an endless loop, checking to see if the value has changed?

Macro To Hide Rows Based On Cell Value (compared To Other)

Mar 28, 2007

I want a macro to hid rows based on a specific value of a cell compared to another.

Example, In a cell I have the current date and time which updates when the the sheet is opened... On a row I have various info including another date in the past. When the date in the past goes over 6 months older than the current date, I want to hide that whole row.

Is this possible? Do I use an IF function in the macro I've seen to remove rows based on cells with specific values?

VBA Macro To Filter Rows By Cell Value & Hide Blank Columns

Oct 1, 2008

i have created a spreadsheet to simplify our work flow, I am stuck on what is probably the easiest of the commands.

basically have rows dedicated to specific codes and the colums represent values relating to each code, all codes have a different set of values, the attached example only has a few variables but the actual worksheet will have several hundred.

the idea is the user will input the code they wish to get details on in A2 and then press the command button and it will then show (as per the after sheet in the attachment) just the relevant information for that code, so filter the code in column A and hide the columns which hold no value.

where i am getting stuck is I am not sure the best way to proceed, is it best to create the macro button to do the filter and hide or is there a better way using vlookup and a pop up window asking for the relevantcode to be inputted to to retrive the information, again understand there will be hundreds of colums and hundreds of rows and the values may be 20 or 30 colums apart for some of the Codes so this simplification is really saving the user a lot of time.

Conflict Between Auto Save&close Macro And Show/hide Sheets Macro

Oct 16, 2009

I am trying to make a save&close workbook macro.

I found several examples on google, but unfortunatly it conflicts with another macro I use for forceing users to enable macros (hide all sheets except one if macros are disabled).

The attached file is an example contaning the save&close code and the show/hide sheets depending on macros enabled.

If the file is opened with macros disabled then only one sheet will be visible.
If the file is opened with macros enabled other sheets are visible.

The problem if that this code uses a custom save, witch makes the save&close not save... (in module1 and in ThisWorkbook)

The pourpose of the save&close is to make sure some users don't forget the excel open and thus block access to it. So if a certain idele time passes excel has to save and close without any confirmation messages.

Hide Columns Via A Macro ...

Jun 11, 2009

I have created this macro (below) in a standalone spreadsheet and the expected results are that Columns A,B,C,D,G,H will be displayed after I run the macro.

But when I use the same macro in my production worksheet (columns and ranges adjusted accordingly) this macro creates the following results: Column A is displayed and all the rest are hidden (B,C,D,E,F,G,H). I am stumped as to why this occurs. Can you advice me as to how to get this macro to work and display A,B,C,D,G,H ?

Macro To Hide CHR(10) Character

Feb 11, 2010

I have the code below, which works fine apart from I get a little square coming up every time I run the code, as this gives you a line the Chr(10) has to be there. When I tale the Chr(10) out the little square disappears but then I don't get a new line. I have set the formatting to "wrap text" but it is still showing up. I am not quite sure where to go from here, I have also done a ="test"&CHAR(10)&"test" and that worked fine with no little square.

2. How do I write a macro to unhide the named range "dmargin" for my button #2.

I tried using VB codes to achieve both conditions -- it works but it either continuously protects or unprotects my ws -- so I think it is better to use a low level codes (macro buttons).
