Excel 2010 :: Macro - Hide Rows Based On Empty Cell
Feb 27, 2012(Excel 2010): Hide row if cell C in this row is empty.
I've just started using macros and I'm sure there is one for this problem.
(Excel 2010): Hide row if cell C in this row is empty.
I've just started using macros and I'm sure there is one for this problem.
I have read other posts about this but I am still a little confused as most macros that have been made are tweaked to suite the users individual needs.
What I want is something like this to work in the active sheet:
If cells D2:D55 = ""
Then Hide.EntireRow
If cells D2:D55 = "has any value"
Then Show.EntireRow
The values in D2:D55 are populated by a VLOOKUP depending on what someone chooses in a drop down validation list, however not all the rows are always required so I would like to hide them to save some space on my form.
I am on office 2010
I am new to VBA programming so i might be making a obvious mistake. I am trying to create a macro that will insert rows depending on a cell value. I also need this to be executed from a command button rather then to occur immediately after the cell value is entered. So as a example
Lets say
Cell A2 has a value 20
Cell A3 has a value 3
Cell A4 has a value 5
when this data is entered and then a Command button poressed there should be
20 rows beneath cell A2
3 rows beneath cell A3
5 rows beneath cell A4
I need to write an excel macro to trace the valid PO# in my daily report.
Below is the condition:
If the PO# is an empty cell, the result return at column B as Not Valid
If the PO# starts with any character (example: FISHNH123), the result return at column B as Not Valid
If PO# is not starts with 3000 or 490 or 450(example: 3000823041,3000823037), the result return at column B as Not Valid
PO#
Status
empty cell
Not Valid
PO# starts with any character (example: FISHNH123)
Not Valid
PO# is not start with 3000 or 490 or 450
Not Valid
I'm using excel 2010..
I would like to hide rows for data that does not meet specific criteria. For example: If a user selects room number 101 from a drop down in B1, I want to filter data in range A3:F1000 to show me only room 101 rows (A column) where C column contains a value larger than zero OR D column contains a value larger than zero OR E column contains a value larger than zero. I do not want it to return rows where 101 may be in other columns beside A.
Sample:
A B C D E F
__________________________________
1 ROOM: 101
2
3
4 101 XX 1.2 0 0 P
16 101 YA 0 0 1.1 L
23 101 JJ 3.2 2.1 0 L
55 101 JJ 0 0 1 P
So, if a row contains 101 in column A and all three values in columns C, D, and E equal 0, then those rows will be hidden.
Operating System: Windows XP, Excel version: 2003
Aim: To create a Macro to hide all rows where the date in column D is before today. Column D has about 600 rows.
Current solution:
Code:
Sub Hide_Old2()
'Worksheet name
With Worksheets("Schedule")
'set start of date range
Set rngStart = .Range("D2")
'find end of date range
[Code] .....
The problem with this solution is its speed, or lack thereof. It causes the screen to hang and flicker while it cylces through. Is there some way to create a range based on the date and hide the range? or another solution?
Note: Autofilter is not an option, as the spreadsheet with the dates needs to be kept simple for other stakholders and the macro is being run from another sheet.
My company has a canned template for some of the work we do and to avoid wasting too much paper I wanted to insert some extra code into an already programmed macro button (which sets the page breaks) to hide forms (both as individual worksheets and rows within separate worksheets) if the field that ought to auto-fill them is left empty.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm looking for a macro that hide empty rows. I found some simple macro but that are long to execute. While looking for a faster code, I found two codes that work pretty fast. But as I don't understand VBA I am not able to adjust them to my situation.
First macro: I am able to specify my range (B6:B77), but the macro applies to blank cells and I need to apply to "" cells.

Second macro: very fast as well. Here, it applies to "" cells, but I am unable to specify a range. So the rows 1 to 4, which are empty, are hidden but should not.

Like to create a macro (button) to hide / unhide rows based on a cell value
Example
A1=No then hide roa A
C1=No then hide row c
I am trying to create a macro that will work on my master summary sheet. The sheet pulls information from other worksheets. I would like to have a macro that will look at range E7:E356. If the value is 0 then hide, but if the value changes then unhide the row. I have tried autofilter but it will not update automatically.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want a macro to hid rows based on a specific value of a cell compared to another.
Example, In a cell I have the current date and time which updates when the the sheet is opened... On a row I have various info including another date in the past. When the date in the past goes over 6 months older than the current date, I want to hide that whole row.
Is this possible? Do I use an IF function in the macro I've seen to remove rows based on cells with specific values?

I have a massive spreadsheet (ca.110 000 rows [excel 2010). I need to cut this monster by deleting all the cells that do not have a certain cell value within them.
Say that in my column A there are different entries (text type). I would like to delete the ones that do not match the following criteria:
"mytextascriteria*", where * somehow stands for the rest of the string.
Strictly speaking I can only determine beggining of the string I want to perserve but the values at the end of that string are changing.
I found the thread about deleting entire row based on a cell value here:
Delete entire row based on one cell?
but I couldn't quite work out how to apply it in my scenario....
Otherwise is completely pointless to do it manualy with these amout of records.
I'm trying to delete a range of rows based on the value of a given cell. For example, if cell AC1 shows 5000, then I'd like to delete (not just clear) the range A5000:AA1048576. Or, if cell AC1 shows 10000, then I'd like to delete range A10000:AA1048576. I've come up with what is below but I don't think this is the right way to do it. I am using Excel 2010.
Code:
Range("AC1").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=COUNT(C[-27])+2"
Calculate
Range("AC1").Select
Selection.Copy
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
Application.CutCopyMode = False
Range("A" & Range("AC1").Value:"AA1048576").Select
Selection.Delete
I am trying to run a macro that will hide rows when one cell is empty and another is not. Example: hide row when cell g is empty, but cell b is not. Or something to that effect. So far I've only used this code, but I would like to know how I can modify the code to fit the parameters I need:
Sub HideRows()
On Error Resume Next
With Range("B1:B300")
.EntireRow.Hidden = False
For i = 1 To .Rows.Count
If WorksheetFunction. Sum(.Rows(i)) = 0 Then
.Rows(i).EntireRow.Hidden = True
End If
Next i
End With
End Sub
I am getting values for my excel sheet from another department excel sheet . everything works fine. If there is no values in the rows in the Department sheet, then i need to hide the rows in my sheet. How to code this in VBA. When they add values to the rows then i should make the rows visble here. Kindy give me a sample of vba code to this or suggest me to solve.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI work on an excel spreadsheet all day and I'm constantly cuting and pasting a value to filter another column. I would love to have a macro button that would automatically do this.
The job card sheets are labled 'Page 1' through to 'Page 175'. As I am working on each job card sheet I need to filter column on another sheet within the same workbook. This is indicated on the attached picture.
So in a perfect world as I would enter in the PLANT ID number on to any job card, then hit a macro button on the toolbar and the Pole No column would then be filtered by the value in the PLANT ID cell.
As there are multiple job cards the macro would probably need to use the 'active cell' value to filter by. But as you can probably tell I'm no expert so you judge the best way to do it.

I have created a UserForm that has a ComboBox and depending on the number selected I want it to show that number of Labels/TextBoxes...
So if I select "0" nothing is shown, if I select "1" one set of Labels/TextBoxes is shown, select "2" and two sets of Labels/TextBoxes are shown... but also if I have selected "2" and then select "1" I want the second set to be hidden again...
Also I know I should have renamed the Label/TexBoxes to make it easer but I was adding things and making it up as I went along...
I'm using Excel 2010 on windows 7.
Code:
Sub UnHide_NewRoutings()
If (Engineering.ComboBox2.value) = "0" Then
Engineering.Label4.Visible = False
Engineering.TextBox5.Visible = False
Engineering.Label9.Visible = False
Engineering.TextBox9.Visible = False

Is there a way to create a macro to color code a cell based on the value in a cell, and then look up a value in a table, then color code it based on where it fits into the table?
I have a table of values for about 30 projects. In column g - there is a CPI value (see bold column)
Example: Project ID
Name
Program
PMT
SI ID
AC
Milestone
TCP Level
[Code] ......
Here is the table:
I have to color code a cell, base on the CPI and how it fits into the table below. So if the current Milestone is M2 or M3 and the CPI calculated is .14 the cell would be colored RED, if the CPI number is 2.01 for M2-M3 I would want cell to be colored Turquiose. If we were at Milestone M6 and the CPI was 2.01, it would be colored blue. If the CPI was .75 at Milestone M5, it would be colored Green
LEGEND
Earned Value Limits
Milestone
RED
Yellow
Green
Turquoise
Blue
M2-M3
2.15
M4-M6
1.66
M7-M11
1.26
I would like to rows based on multiple column conditions criteria. ie., if the columns N, O, P values are "", then hide the particular row. The logic given in the website here, i tried But, it is not 100% working. It works for a few rows at the start of the database & it works for the rows at the end of the database. In between, for a few rows, even if the column values are "" it does not hide those rows.

I currently have a macro that looks to the first cell and if it's empty, then it deletes the entire row. The only problem is that I would like to keep the shorter, empty rows to maintain my desired formatting. I will post the code I have if I can figure out how to do it properly and not violate the forum rules.

Sub DeleteEmptyRows()

I want a code to Hide the row if "sum of numbers in columns three thru last column" = 0. Following is a code I use to delete a row if that is blank. The difference here is that I dont want to to check first two columns and I want to hide them rather than deleting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want a code to Hide the row if "sum of numbers in columns three thru last column" = 0. Means, if the sum of all the cell (except first and second cells in that row) in a row is zero, then that row should be hidden.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have read several related threads and tried to adapt their answers to my application with no success. I am trying to write a macro that will hide rows based on that row's value in a certain column. Specifically, column AB contains sums and if a sum equals 0 I want to hide that row. The sums start at AB5 and go to AB118 but there are 4 gaps in the column at rows 25, 47, 70, and 94.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to do: Based on whether a cell returns "Export" from a vlookup function, I need a macro to run, hiding some cells and unhiding others at the same time. Also, if possible, if the cell's value changes from "Export" to something else, I need it to revert back to the original hidden/visible rows.
I am currently working on a workbook for work. It is a basic input output sheet. I have data from work that i copy and paste into sheet 1 and I have it arranged into sheet 2.
I am using windows 7 with Excel 2010, though needs to be compatible with 2007 using XP.
What I am trying to implement. I would have a drop down box in cell AD-4 with the current list
Select
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
What I want to implement is a code that if I select "week 1" from drop down then it will hide the entire row if data in column B = week 2, week 3, week 4, week 6
also
If week 2 is selected then hide entire row if column b = week 3 , week 4, week 5
so basically hide the weeks that are after the current selected week.
In addition to this I would also like to hide the entire row, regardless of drop down selection if data from J, K and O all = 0 or (blank).
(the first row is the current Row labels, I have a lot of current hidden columns).

If (above the R) is an 8, I need to insert 2 rows above that R and directly below the 8.
If (above the R) is a 9, I need to insert 1 row above that R below, directly below the 9.
(Below the R there is always a minimum of 8 digits with the 9 and 10 being random).

I have a data validation cell that has 5 items to be selected, lets say A-E.
I would like a macro that checks and does the following:
A or B selected, hide row 25-34, rows 45- 53
C or D selected, hide row 24-44
E selected, hide rows 34-53
In each case, the macro should check and unhide all rows between 25-53 before doing the above
I have a spreadsheet that calculates percentages and then outputs the results to a pie chart. There are 9 different percentages being graphed in cells A41 to A49. The chart looks weird if any of the percentages end up being 0, so I have the formula set to add 0.00001 to each calculation (so they show up as 0% and display on the chart as 0%, but truly are 0.00001). I would like it so that if any of these 9 percentages ends up being 0 (or really 0.00001) that the row automatically hides and thus won't display on the pie chart. How can I create a macro that automatically runs to accomplish this, and automatically updates as percentages are recalculated.
