Multiply Cell Without Copying Cell Formation

May 16, 2014

I want to use the little dot in down right corner of the cell to copy the cell content and the formula correctly.

But now the problem: every time I use it also copies the cell formation.... Is there a way that it only copies the content, but not the formation?

OR Function: Multiply The Cell

Oct 24, 2009

I have a row where C5 is the total of C1:C4. What I am trying to do is if C1 or C2 or C3 or C4 has a number value that I can multiply the cell in question by 2 and then add up all of the cells to give a total in C5. Also, I have a name in A1, but when I select E1 and enter =A1 into the cell then return, I get A1 in the cell instead of the name in A1.

Multiply Dependent One Cell Formula

Aug 8, 2006

All to occur in cell G2

Condition 1.
If F2 is > 0 then multiply F2 by D2.

Condition 2 in the same cell.
If the product of F2 multiplied by D2 is > E2 AND the sum of F2 and F1
multiplied by D2 is > 0, then add the product of D2 multiplied by the sum of
F1 and F2 to E2, otherwise input E2

Condition 3 in the same cell.
If the product of F2 multiplied D2 is < E2 BUT the sum of F2 and F1
multiplied by D2 is > 0, then input the product of D2 multiplied by the sum
of F1 and F2.

Condition 4 in the same cell.
If F2 < 0, and the sum of sum of F2 and F1 multiplied by D2 is < 0, then 0.

This is the best way I could think of the write out my intention. I think if
I can get the above scenario into a one cell formula that should resolve my
pain.

Multiply By Info In Different Columns - Selected By Input In Cell

Mar 19, 2014

I'm trying to make a sheet to calculate my taxes. I would like to keep tax rates from previous year(s), and have them applied based on which year I input in a cell..

Let say that in cell B1 I write year 2013

In cell G1 I have year 2013 and in cells G2:G7 I have tax rates from year 2013.
In cell H1 I have year 2014 and in cells H2:H7 tax rates from year 2014

In cell B17 to B20 I would like to make a formula that multiplies cell B11 or B12 with information found in either column G or H based on input in B1.

I have attached a spread sheet as example.

I know I can make a formula based on IF(B1=2013;G*;IF(B2=2014;H*;etc..

Floating Bar Chart In Step Formation

Jul 24, 2007

I am trying to create a floating bridge bar chart.

Here is my data and I will try to describe as accurately as I can.

FY 2004 operating margin = 14.6% (while FY 2005 and FY 2006 = 11.2% => So the difference is 340bps)

The "bridge" back to 14.6% = 90 basis points for Jimmy'Z, 30 basis points for stock option expense, 30 bps for marketing -- that's 150 bps of the 340 and I'm trying to quantify the rest of the bridge but is there a way to show this in excel with floating bars - that is to say the 14.6% bar will touch the axis but the other 3 data points are not touching the X axis but are in the air in a step formation... ?

Copying A Selected Cell In Col A And The Next Cell In Col B Into New Sheet

Sep 18, 2009

Basically I have a filtered list in colunms A to D. The user selects a cell in column A and I want to then be able to run a macro which copies that cell and the adjacent one in column B, into columns A and B on sheet2.

The complications are

Column B on the second sheet is merged with columns D to E so a straight forward cut and paste of A and B on sheet 1 into A and B on sheet 2 will not work in one cut and paste as it complains about merged cells. It would need to copy and paste A and then copy and paste B to avoid the error.

The row on sheet 2 where it is being pasted needs to be the first row between row 10 and row 30 where col A is blank (so it doesnt overwrite a previous copy and paste as they are basically creating a list on sheet 2 in those rows by runing this macro repeatedly). if there is no blank row then it should insert a new row at row 10 and paste into that

Copying Information From One Cell To The Next Blank Cell

Feb 8, 2014

I'm trying to build a macro that copies the information from cell D2 and then special pastes it into the next free cell on that specific row (as the information is from a vlookup so don't want to paste the formula) - ideally I'd like it to paste from H2 onwards but can move the spreadsheet around if that's not possible! I'd then like to do this for every row until there is no data in a row.

I've been using the below which I've found on the internet but this only pastes into column H and then just goes down the column rather than across the row, and I can't figure out how to do this.

Sub Summarize()
Range("D2:D25").Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("Pot 2").Select
lMaxRows = Cells(Rows.Count, "H").End(xlUp).Row
Range("H" & lMaxRows + 1).Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
False, Transpose:=False
Range("D25").Select
End Sub

Copying Part Of A Cell And Pasting It To The Cell Next To It

Multiply Every Nth Cell By Another Column Whith Merged Cells, THEN Find Column Total

Aug 6, 2009

Please see the attached sheet. I have columns B through a lot (B through O in my oversimplified example). In every 7th row in each of these columns there is either a 1 or a blank/zero. I need to multiply that 7th number by the Quantity in column A, to achieve a total (ie the sum of each result of 7th cell*quantity) for each column in the bottom row, labeled "Totals".

In the actual version of my sheet, there are far too many rows to select everything manually. I've been fiddling with combinations of COUNTIF/COUNTA and OFFSET, but I haven't come up with a way to check for the 1 in every 7th row, THEN multiply that 1 by the quantity in column A, THEN add up the results for each column. As you can see, there are 1's elsewhere in the columns that are irrelevant to this particular calculation, so something like LOOKUP would also have to look in every 7th cell and couldn't just look at the column as a whole.

If you can't provide an immediate solution, but can at least point me to a resource that would allow me to devise a way to isolate every 7th row (THAT part is the sticking point), I'll surely post the solution to my own thread with updated keywords if I need it.

Copying Formula From Cell To Cell

Aug 15, 2006

1. stores the selected range. I call this range as First Range.
2. Asks for a target cell location.
3. At the target location, it selects a range of the size same as that of First.
I call this range Second Range.
4. Copies the formulae of cells in First Range, to the corresponding cells in Second Range.

I am stuck at the step 4. I don't know how to copy contents between corresponding cells. For example, I don't know how to copy the formula of cell(1,1) in First Range to cell (1,1) of Second Range.
