COPYING A SECTION OF DATA FROM A SINGLE CELL TO A NEW CELL

123569LOC23 is in one cell and I am trying to copy the "LOC23" to a new cell. However, the amount of digits vary: LOC23, LOC1,LOC15 etc all the way down the column.

Copy Only A Certain Section Of Data In A Cell

Is there a way to copy all of the data in a cell up to a certain character? I have the following data contained in a cell, and want to copy everything up to the first -v and paste it into another cell. The trouble I am having is that the data to copy will be of a varying length, so I can not use anything involving a count function. I would prefer to do this eiter by macro or VBA:

As the example: let's assume numbers from 1 to 9.

Copying A Section Of Another Workbook

I am creating a spreadsheet that takes data from the previous week's spreadsheet - it's a weekly report. Using vba how can I access and copy a specific range of data from one worksheet on the previous week's workbook to a range in the new week's workbook. The data in the previous week's workbook is formulas, and I'm not sure how it could affect it, but I only need the values calculated and not the formulas to be transferred. I would also prefer it if the other workbook did not open in excel, so that it happens without any changes on the screen.

Section Numbers - Reduce To Single Digit Or Double Digits?

I have a column that has section numbers like 001.002.006.003.010.011.002.

I would like to divide that single column into seven columns with only the single or double digit in it, ie

1 in a cell
2 in a cell
6 in a cell
3 in a cell
10 in a cell
11 in a cell
2 in a cell

Have been using MID and FIND togther, but when I get to the double digits like 10 an 11 I run into problems.

Comments Section - Continue To Next Cell Down

I am creating an excel sheet where there is a comments section where the column width is 58 characters. Is it possible for someone putting in comments to have it automatically go to the next row once they enter 55 characters in the row above? I don't want to use wrap text and need to maintain the rows in this section.

Copying 2 Columns Of Data Into A Single Row While Adding Spaces

I have two columns D and E that contain dates and values. Column D has the dates and Column E contains the corresponding values.

I need a macro to take all of the dates in column D (it is pulled from a different macro so the length of the two columns varies every time but starts at D2) and paste the first value in W1, the second value in AE1 , and so on (every eight cells).

I need to do the exact same thing with Column E except start at Y1, then AG1, etc (still every eight cells).

Simultaneously Copying Data From Multiple Sheets To A Single Sheet

I have a workbook containing about 20 sheets. I need to find a way of pasting all the numbers in the A column in each sheet (sheets 1-20) to the last sheet so I get a great big list of all the numbers in the 20 sheets. How would I go about doing this?

Right now I'm cutting and pasting from sheet 1 to my last sheet, then from sheet 2 to my last sheet, then from sheet 3 to my last sheet... Is there a quicker way? The ranges in each of the sheets start at A2 and go down a few cells. Sheet 4 might have 4 numbers in the A column, sheet 12 might have 47, sheet 17 might have 8 and so on.

How would I go about getting all the A columns in the sheets to the last sheet?

I'll throw up a few screenshots if the problem is unclear

I'm trying to create a macro to help me with a running issues list. I what to be able to have an issues column and a fix coulumn. Then I'll have an open issues section and closed/fixed issues section. all issues that do not have any Information and date in the fix colum will stay in the open section unitl the fix is entered and then when I run my macro it will move any open issues that have data in the fixed column to the closed section)

I have an master excel file with 20 sheets with names x,y,z,a,b,c,f,.... Each and every sheet has data which start from Row 7 and Column 2. Now i need to consolidate this data in one sheet in another excel file.

Consolidation should be like

Suppose X sheet has 20 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2, this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file copied on my desktop. Now first 20 rows are occupied in new excel file.

Now code should move on to master excel file Sheet Y which has 45 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2,this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file from row 21, which means Master excel file sheets has to be clubbed to one consolidated excel file.

In All the sheets in Master file Data starts from Row 7 and column 2.

Data range varies row wise in each sheet but column length is fixed to 4.

Using A Single Cell For Data Entry

Basicaly what I am trying to accomplish is the use of a single cell to enter the values 1 thru 60, so starting at e2 for instance, if I enter the number 1 then cell f2 will populate with a 1, if I were to enter the number 18 then the cell w2 would populate with an 18. So the range of cells that need to populate in this example would be (f2:BM2) for row 2. Furthermore if I were to enter a -1 or a -18 in cell e2 then those numbers would be eliminated from the appropriate cells on row 2. The next 299 rows would need to perform the same way for a total of 300 user input rows.

The way that I'm imagining e2 would behave in the example would be...type a 1 then enter....18 then enter....31 then enter and so on. Columns f thru bm would locked and unselectable....so a tab should send me back to a3.

Reasoning.... this is a simple scoring system based on 60 codes and data integrity is very important and I want to eliminate as much human error as possible. I will be setting autofilters and such later on.

I'm looking to take some data from a selection of about 5 or 6 cells in a row, and use them for some formulas. I can only get as far as selecting the 5 cells.

If I have a row of 5 cells selected, how to I save each cell as a different variable? Does this make sense?

Cell 1 = number1
Cell 2 = number 2
etc..

I want to select them as a row to keep them all in one group. I don't know if this is correct or not.

What I got going on is a program I use for reporting is shooting out information.. while most of the information it sends to an excel workbook is sectioned by cell, there is a good chunk of information that's dumped into 1 cell. Is there a macro, or something, I can do to separate the information in this single cell, into separate cells? Auto Merged Post Until 24 Hrs Passes;Here is an example of the report. You'll notice a bunch of information in the 'Description' section. What I want to be able to do is run a macro that will seperate the 'Item Number', 'URL', 'Serial Number', 'Model Number', and 'Details' information into seperate cells.

On Day1- Copy info from a different worksheet in the 3 cells for 12/23 (column B)
On Day2 - Copy info from the worksheet in the 3 cells for 1/2 (col C) without deleting the info in Column B from the previous day, etc....

I can't figure out how to get it to paste into a different column each day. It will be continuously moving one column to the right each day.

We have a list of around 800 clients containing client id, name and e-mail and i need to add contract number. I can only get the contract number by accessing the admin (password-protected) using a URL that looks like this admin/index.php?client=id.

Problems:

1. if i use the From Web option in excel's data tab, i get the entire table not just the needed cell
2. if i get the data using the above mentioned option, i can only do it from one client at a time

Cut And Paste Row Of Data To New Worksheet Based On Single Cell Value

I have a worksheet with 14 columns. Column 12 is either blank or when I finish that project, from a drop down menu I pick Yes. What I am hoping for is that as soon as I hit yes the line will be cut from the first sheet labeled Open and pasted to the next available row on the second sheet labed Closed. On the first sheet that blank row is eliminated so there are no spaces and on sheet two it always looks for the next available row as to not over write any data.

Also, to make sure I am doing this right too, I would right click the tab then click view code, paste it into the window (below the drop down that says (General) click file save workbook then file close and return to excel correct? One last thing, while looking at this page it shows my worksheet I call Open is really sheet 16 and closed is really sheet 17.

Join Data Into Single Cell As Comma Seperated

I am attemping to transpose a column of data into a single cell. I have a list of contact information, and one of the columns is for e-mail addresses. There are filters to the right of the data with different categories so the contact information can be filtered according to the different criteria. Ultimately, the people using the spreadsheet want to use those filters to create a list of e-mail addresses to send their distributions to.

The people who are using this don't have Outlook so we can't use an output to add them to the Outlook address book. We would like to make one cell at the bottom of all the data which would include all the e-mail addresses from that column seperated with a semi colon so they can just copy the contents of that cell and paste that into the To: field on their e-mail program. I've tried several different things but I've not been able to find a solution.

Copying Data To Cell With CF / Rules Will Change On Its Own

I had previously posted a query on deconstructing 2 set of tables (with similar heading)(in sheet 1 & 2) & combine them side by side with similar heading (in sheet3) so as to use condition formatting to highlight the differences & visually i can compare them easily.

1 group is 2 tables to compare. I have about 30 groups. So after creating the 1st group, i intended to use it as a template, without having to create the conditional formatting again & again. But after copying, the conditional formatting rules change. I am not sure why.

I attached a sample of my template for reference.

Sheet 1 - Table 1
Sheet 2 - Table 2 & part of Table 1
Sheet 3 - combine both Tables with similar column header side by side

in Table 3, cell B3 rules are "=C5<>B5"

SO the problem is when i copy data from Sheet 2, Table 2's Column Header B (cell f9 to f421) to Sheet 3, Column Header B2 (cell c5 onwards) the rules change to "=C5<>XFC5"
