Range("B25").Name = "EndMull"
Its fine but if i insert a new row or column then it mucks the whole thing up. Is there away of naming them but if any cells, row or columns are inserted the range will automatically adjust to suit1

the dynamic name ranges I had created did not "adjust" in their position references when I added new name ranges later.
My workbook (see attachment) Master sheet has several name ranges that are based on their position to a key name range I set up..."Unit". Example below:
"Unit"

I have a range of cells that I have named to be used in a data validation for a drop down box. I have named the cells and would like to have the user name the cells by typing in the name into one cell.
For example
Cells F10:F14 are named "orange" right now (typed in cell F9)
I would like the user to be able to change the name of the cells to whatever they want by changing the cell in F9 - i.e. "banana" and the range is automatically named banana so the data validation can search for Banana instead.

How or if it is even possible to have a table automatically adjust its range or the number or rows it has based on another table
I have two tables:
Table1 is raw data that is added two daily
Table2 has formulas with column header references to Table1 that processes the information and converts it to a readable format. (basically barcodes to words)
Is there a way to get Table2 to automatically resize to the same number of rows that Table1 has whenever data is added??

Is there a way to get cells in a column to adjust their height automatically, or with a macro to account for text overflow/wrap?
For example, lets say a column is 200 px in width and it's height is enough to view a single line of text, and the column is set to wrap text. Now more text is entered into the cell and it needs to be re-sized to fit two lines of text.
Is there a way to create a macro button to have this done automatically?

I'm using a template that has formulas using a $ sign to attempt to stop the ranges they refer to changing. The problem is, when I use the template (which involes Access importing some data and adding columns to the sheet the formula refers to in the process) the rows referred to in the formula change in line with the number of rows of data that have been imported. Only the row numbers change not the column headings. So for example:
=( SUMPRODUCT(((Workings!$H$3:$H$1000=Explanation!B9)+(Workings!$E$3:$E$1000="Buy")*(Workings!$J$3:$J$1000))))-998
becomes
=(SUMPRODUCT(((Workings!$H$511:$H$1508=Explanation!B10)+(Workings!$E$511:$E$1508="Buy")*(Workings!$J$511:$J$1508))))-998

I've managed to piece together a VBA code that works perfectly for my needs. The problem is that the sheet it is on gets adjusted a lot, and I only need the code to run when certain cells are changed (rather than each time any cell is changed).
Here is the code I have now:
[Code] .....
Put simply, I need this code to run only when a cell in Range "TValueDeal" is changed. Is making this adjustment as simple as adding a couple lines of code, or is there a better way to write the entire thing?

I need to name a dynamic range of cells. The only constant is the column - H, and the heading "MRC".
MRC column in a table represents an array formula. Unknown is the row where it is going to show up and the number of rows that this array formula will take. I need to name this range (active cells based on the array formula) but do not know what row does it start with and how many rows will it take.
It is not the last table in column H either but there are 2 empty rows before the next table.
Trying something like that...
=========================
Set aCell = Range("H:H").Find(What:="MRC", LookIn:=xlValues, _
LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, _
MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False)
If Not aCell Is Nothing Then
aCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
========================================
That's how I select the first cell in the range. Not sure how to select the whole range and name it ..
ActiveCell.End(1xDown) ?

Attached is a spreadsheet I am working on that has a series of graphs with defined dynamic ranges. I am having 2 separate issues on 2 different tabs.
1) Ranges named AirRecBra4 (and Bra10); AirComBra4 (and Bra10); AirRemBra4 (and Bra10) are not pulling in data from the correct data points. Instead of using the last 26 data point, they are currently beginning at the top of the column (currently cells 11 to 36 is their respective columns). The formulas are copy and pasted from working offset ranges in the same tab but are reading differently.
2) On the last 6 tabs beginning with Stn Backlog, I want to have defined formulas beginning in cell B119 and continuing downward to at least F200. However, when I add the formulas, the offset reads the formulas as being data and adjusts for that. I do not know how to adjust the dynamic range to ignore formulas in blank cells.

I have a spreadsheet which has four columns and numerous rows
Example:
Location - Desc - Price - ID#
Electric - Duplex Outlet - $5.00 - 12-0001
I would like to use VBA to name ranges. I need to name the Desc., Price, and ID# columns separately and want to use the Location and the headings of each column as the name range. Example - the column containing Duplex Outlet would be named ElectricDesc.
This is what I came up with, but need to figure out how to make "add name" a formula combining Location+Desc. I tried concatenate (B1,A2) but it did not work.
ActiveSheet.Names.Add Name:="MyRange1", RefersTo:="=$A$1:$B$10"

I have 4 sheets (2006,2007,2008,2009) Each has appx. 365 named ranges of 65 rows each. Each row (col A) has text(7:00 am, 7:15, 730, 7:45...11:00 pm (thats 65 rows)) to make a very useful schedule. The top 8 rows of each sheet are frozen so that a control panel has a place to sit. From the control panel, you can click on the go to "TODAY" button and the schedule scrolls to that day and indicates it in a label on the panel. When I named each range, I put a water mark of the day in the back ground so the user always knows what day it is. I also named each range with its respective date and the label on the control panel is supposed to indicate the active range(for instance: the user scrolls down 12 days and clicks inside it).
MY PROBLEM: Code that returns the intersection of the active cell and the name of the range does not work with the way in which I named my ranges. It works on a more simple named range However.
Sub DefineNameandwatermark2007()
Dim i As Long
Dim a, b, c, X
Dim dt As Date
Dim sr As String
dt = DateSerial(2007, 1, 1)
For i = 8 To 25000 Step 66
j = j + 1
a = Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(dt + j, "ddd")
b = Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(dt + j, "mmm")
c = Application.WorksheetFunction.Text(dt + j, "d")
X = a & "_" & b & "_" & c
ActiveWorkbook.Names.Add Name:=X, RefersToR1C1:="=2007!R" & i & "C1:R" & _
i + 65 & "C1"....................................

I want the 2 graphs in "Graph" worksheet to change automatically when a row is inserted in "Data" worksheet . Every time i have to change the graph manually to contain the latest 20 days value. I want some offset or something which can be put in the range provided below to do the work.
Chart Data Range =Data!$A$1:$A$22,Data!$F$1:$F$2,Data!$L$1:$L$20
Legend entries (Series) - Series Name =Data!$F$1 ( this will remain constant everyday as this is a header field)
Series Values =Data!$F$2:$F$22 ( this should contain last 20 days range, for example if a next row is inserted tomorrow then it should automatically change to =Data!$F$3:$F$23)
Legend entries (Series) - Series Name =Data!$L$1 ( this will remain constant everyday as this is a header field)
Series Values =Data!$L$2:$L$22 ( this should contain last 20 days range, for example if a next row is inserted tomorrow then it should automatically change to =Data!$L$3:$L$23)
Horizontal (Category) axis series -Axis Label Range =Data!$A$2:$A$22 ( this should contain last 20 days range, for example if a next row is inserted tomorrow then it should automatically change to =Data!$A$3:$A$23)

I need to have a conditional format that will adjust based on percentage ranges.
1% to 25% would be shaded red
26% to 50% would be shaded Orange
51% to 100% would be shaded Green
I was hoping to reference another cell and have the formatted cell reflect the conditional format. I dont think that's possible, so I can include a percentage in another cell and have that highlighted.

What I would like to do is on a sheet when I insert a new row that it will "FILL" the formulas that are the row above it. For example I have cells A1-F1. On cell A1 there is 1, B1 there is 2...etc. When I then insert a new row I would like the row below A1-F1 to read. A2 = 2, B2=3 so it had a linear growth. I want to do this with my formulas so whenever someone adds a new line it knows to copy the formula as well but only in certain cells if possible.

In simplicity: We want to be able to enter a value in cell A1 (and hit enter), but we want the value in A1 to be increased by the value saved in H1.
So: if H1 had 250 saved in it, if we enter 150 in A1 (and hit enter), we want the value in A1 to become 400.

Can periodical fixed deductions/payments be inserted automatically to the individual MONTH sheets of the workbook I uploaded ? To reduce the size of the file, I have left only ONE of the twelve month-sheets - the one for January.
Rephrased :
How to automate the entry of fixed amounts at regular intervals?
My guess is that from time to time, a macro would have to be run
- one of the macro's inputs would be the computer date and the other two inputs would be the value of the entry to be made and the value of the intervening period.
In practice there would be more than one regular entry and the values would be both positive ones and negative ones.
I guess that means one macro for each financial pattern.
Feasible or feesible (a multi-million-dollar-fee task)?

I have a worksheet used for a car game. Each row is designated to show one particular car that can be used in the game, so let's say that there are 40 cars taking up 40 rows.
Column A shows the car type and model; column B shows the engine that the cars has represented by a number (the higher the number the better the engine is); and so it continues, Column C shows the transmission; column D the brakes etc.
Underneath the 40 rows (lets say from row 45 to 65) I then have a table with spare-parts that can be used to replace the cars existing parts. This Parts-table is also arranged with engines in column B, transmissions in column C, brakes in column D etc...
This point of this layout is that it should be easy to compare each type of part in the spare-parts table with the corresponding type of part already used in any of the cars as everything is perfectly lined up by the columns.
About the spare-parts table: because the inventory in the spare-parts table often are added to or subtracted from, as parts are won in races or being put on the cars, I have created a macro to sort the parts in each column so as to put the best parts at the top of the table and the bad ones towards the bottom - so far so good.
The problem is this - as I add new cars, the table of spare-parts is pushed down worksheet and that means that the macro no longer will reference the right rows. So the question is this, how do I automatically update the macro to adjust for rows being added above it? I am not really interested in redesigning the worksheet.

Is there a way to make a chart adjust automatically when you add to the source data? I'm trying to use a named range in order to power a chart (something like chart_data=offset(a1,,, counta(a:a),counta(1:1)); the range is working fine). When I put "chart_data" into the source field for the chart, it seems to work fine; it picks up the right range... But when I later add more data, the chart source data field seems to have converted my named range into a hard-coded range, absolute range. So the dynamical named range updates, but the chart doesn't and I don't see the new data. Am I doing something wrong that I need to tweak? Does what I'm trying to do just not work? Is there another way to make the chart pick up the new data without adjusting the range?

I am trying to clean up my code by using named ranges so that it will still work if/when others add columns or rows to the spreadsheet. These should be pretty easy solutions for most of you but I can't seem to find any answers online.
Here are 2 examples of the code I am trying to update:
I was thinking that replacing "A" with "namedRange" would work but I suppose that's not how the Columns application works. How can I modify the code below to work with a named range instead of the fixed column "A"?
[Code].....
For the following I would have thought that replacing "AU" with "namedRange" would do the trick as that's how things have worked for me in the past using the Range application. Unfortunately I get an error when I make the change.
