Print Range Of Cells To PDF To Folder Saved As Cell Value
Apr 1, 2014
I am unsure of the print functions and parameters in VBA. What I would like to do is print a range of cells, say A5:E40, to a pdf using Adope PDF. I would also like the name of the created pdf file to be that of a certain cell value, say C7. How do I go about doing this? I read on a post that because Adobe takes time to print the pdf document, you have to add in a delay timer to the code to allow Adobe to create the pdf, not sure if this is true?

I keep getting a "type mismatch error" for this:
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
If Len(Range("E18:E34")) = 0 Then
MsgBox "You must complete cell E18 thru E34 before you can save this file!"
Cencel = True
End If
I am trying to set a range of cells to ensure they are completed before the file can be saved. I can get it to work with individual cells, but not when I use multiple cells like in the example above.
This Works fine:
If Len(Range("D5")) = 0 Then
MsgBox "You must enter the Impress Amount before you can save this file!"
Cancel = True
End If

I have an Excel application (Excel 2003) which is stored in the default Program Files folder by the Installer; for example: c:program fileszxchello.xls. The problem I am running into is this file opens as Read Only in Vista and this is interfering with the running of the application. There is no problem opening the file normally in Windows XP.
I have been able to narrow down the cause of this to the User Account Control system in Vista - if I turn OFF User Account Control, the Excel file opens normally and my application functions normally. Is there another option to open the Excel file without turning OFF User Account Control because some users may find it unacceptable to turn OFF this security feature. Ofcourse, one option is to install the application in another location, outside the Program Folder, and the file would open normally, but the Packaging Wizard that I am using to package the application does not allow me to install the application in any other location and thus, the application installs in the Program Folder and I am running into this problem of the Exel file opening as Read Only. Is there a way out of this situation where I can open the file normally (not as Read Only)?

write this in VBA on the Workbook Level, "ThisWorkbook" : IF range (B20:B53, E20:E53, H20:H51) are all filled through user keypunched values--checks and coupon amounts.AND range (C20:C52, F20:F52, I20:I50) are equal to = " "
-- these ranges contain formula that spits out values only when there are discrepancies with the manually keypunched values above' otherwise it's equal to " ".THEN call batch02. batch02 is a macro that prints the specified batch.I have attached the filed I am working with. There are 25 batches, hopefully I can replicate the codes by just changing the ranges and the print macro.

I have up to 50 workbooks in one folder with data in a specific range. I also have one workbook which includes additional data, including conditional formatting and dropdowns. I need to copy the desired range from the first workbook in the source folder to the second workbook, then save the latter to my destination folder, using the same name as the first. I need to repeat this process for all workbooks in the source folder.

I need a macro in a workbook to look at all the files in the same folder that have "*att*.xls" in the name and determine and copy from the range A15:W515 only the rows that have data in at least columns A, C and D. Each file will vary as to how many rows there will be and there are more than the files with "*att*.xls" in the folder. The data will be on the only worksheet in each file and the worksheet is named "G2WAttendee_xls" the data from all the files need to be copied to the file called "Consolidated webinar reports.xls" (I am using Excel 2003) and to a sheet called "Attendance Data" and added to the end of the last paste.
At the start of the macro the current file "Consolidated webinar report.xls" should be saved to a sub folder of the current directory and have the date saved added to the name. The sub folder is called "Completed reports". The data in the original file on worksheet "Attendance Data" should be deleted.
At the end of the process all the files that have had data copied from them should be moved to the sub folder "Attendance reports consolidated" (This could be done as each file is closed if that is easier).
I have headings in row 1 of the "Attendance Data" worksheet that match the headings in the various files in the folder (which will always be in row 14 of the individual "*att*.xls" files).
The folder with all the files and the "Consolidated webinar report.xls" file is at path "Z:P and S MEvaluationsWebinar series 2012-13TB".

I have a excel sheet that has a range of cells (Q39 - Q49) that I required to be filled with yes or No befroe the user is able to print off the sheet.
what I thought of doing is creating a command button to print the sheet once it has checked to see if the range is filled?
Does anyone know how to disable the print functions and make the cmd button to check the cell range before printing the sheet?

I'm looking for a way to identify the first cell of a page without using the pagebreak function: Sheet6.Range("B" & Sheet6.HPageBreaks(i).Location.Row). The reason being is for overall speed and performance as well as avoiding <out of range> errors on the last break. If I use totalPages = Sheet6.HPageBreaks.Count + 1
to determine the number of page breaks, is there a way to identify the first cell of page i in this way?

I have a pretty large spreadsheet set up that invoices our clients. A few tabs in the front allow us to globally invoice if we did certain services for all clients and then we can also go into each tab and invoice each client for specific services performed on their property. Some invoices are two pages long and other may be up to seven pages long and anywhere in between... So that's the first issue, how do you find how many pages to print and then set the print range for each invoice.
The second issue centers around being able to print all the invoices at one time.
The spreadsheet is set up in this manner: A recap sheet we print to check off that each invoice was printed; an IIF statement to get the Excel info into QuickBooks; a template to set up each invoice's information with dates, dates services were performed,etc.; then there are five Global billing tabs where I can invoice all accounts globally or by their type of account (Saturday or Sunday open, 24/7 etc.); then we get into the tabs for each account. Each account has its own tab with an invoice loaded inside where we can itemize the services they received. Inside all these individual account tabs we have set up 'Zone' tabs where we can invoice all the clients we set up within a zone. There are about twenty of these tabs. Then at the end I have a few more tabs that aren't used any longer, there are about ten tabs there...
Is there a way I can hit Print and get all of my invoices to print out at one time versus having to go into each and every tab, set the print range, and then hit Print for all 250ish invoices?
This is the biggest complaint I have right now about the invoicing program I have set up...

Is it possible to have a marco that will look at the data in a cell/multiple cells and search a network drive for a folder named with the same data in a cell? For example, I used a marco to create a folder from the contents in cell A2. Can a macro be reversed in that if I have a spreadsheet with a list of data in A2,A3, A4 and so on, can it check a network drive to see if a folder has been created with the same data?

I have alot of project folders on my harddrive.
All in format: I:/12345-costumer-projectname/
The five digits are unique for each project.
I make calculations for these projects using an excel file. In this excel I also type the projectnumber (cell J2)
Now i would like to make a button. When pressed, it checks the projectnumber cell J2, looksup the corresponding folder and saves the excelfile in PDF format in this folder.
I have found macro to find files in folders, but none which do the above.

I've found some code which works to print certain pages with value in cell A1 but I need to print dynamic ranges on some of the sheets as they will have filters on so the rows ranges will be different each time.
So far this is what I have but the dynamic range part is not working:
VB:
Sub Print_All_Worksheets_With_Value_In_A1()
Dim Sh As Worksheet
Dim Arr() As String
Dim N As Integer

Function LSDate()

Unfortuantely, the cell doesn't update without recalculating the cell. Is there a way to get the cell to update automatically every time the sheet is saved?

I have a workbook with multiple sheets that I need to print.
Is there a way to create a fixed print area within which you can mess around with formatting without extending or shrinking the print area?
I have tried adjusting the margins settings so that they are all the same, but this does nothing to keep a fixed print area.

I need method, using a button, that looks at a cell--say EO2, for example--, looks back on a master worksheet at a specified row and range for a match, then looks at the information from a specified range below the matching cell (The information in this column will either be blank or have an "X" in the cell), and then those rows that do not have an "X" will be hidden in the corresponding rows in the working worksheet. Therefore, if at any time the value in "EO2" ever changes, then it will automatically find a new match and repopulate and hide information as before. About 130 columns will have its own button so that a "query" can be made that depends on the information in a particular cell in that column.
The master worksheet now has matrix of 287 rows and 58 columns. Each row is for an operating procedure and each column shows a job code. An "X" in a coordinate cell for a column/row shows whether that job code is responsible for knowing that operating procedure. So, on the working sheet, an employee's primary job code is given underneath his or her name. When the button is pushed, all the operating procedures not required for a given person will be hidden and only the required ones will remain visible--grouped, if you will. Qualification dates will be easier to see now that the information is consolidated. Whenever someone transfers to a new position, a new code will be inputed on the working sheet. When the button is pushed, a new grouping will result. Any operating instructions that overlap will still have qualification dates, so that information will not need to be transcribed.
