Pulls And Sums From A Reference Table For Highlighted Yellow Area

May 28, 2012

I need a formula for the highlighted yellow area that pulls and sums from a reference table. Not a traditional Vlookup because the reference within the report can appear in multiple columns within multiple rows.

Reference Keeps Yellow-lining

Oct 17, 2009

Why won't this reference work? It's driving me nuts! I'm sure I have an almost identical referencing in another part of the workbook that works.. I have tried other referencing without the variables, and it works, but I need to do this with the variables because the ranges change.

X = ActiveCell.Address
Z = 3

FinalRow = Sheets("sheet2").Range("B65536").End(xlUp).Row - 2
Sheets("sheet1").Range(Cells(1, Z), Cells(FinalRow, Z)).Copy Destination:=Range(X)

Nested Loop Not Working; Pulls Data From Multiple Files Into One Table

Aug 8, 2006

I've got this code that pulls data from multiple files into one table. the file name is in the top row, and each file's title, and two different sums display below that. Then it is supposed to loop through and display each task and the start and end date for that task within each file. After that the first loop brings it to the next column and file. The primary loop works fine, but the inner loop only seems to run once, as I get only the first result for each file. All I can figure is that maybe my row numbers aren't resetting like they're supposed to, or I'm completely overlooking something, which is likely, as VBA is by no means my forte.

Sub Worksheet_Calculate()
Dim sBook As String
On Error Resume Next
Application.EnableEvents = False
Col = 8
' Sets start column
Do
sBook = Cells(2, Col)
' References file name
TaskRow = 6 ........................

Pivot Table Filtering - Display Sums By Date Horizontally And Not Vertically

May 14, 2013

I am working on a pivot table just like the one on the picture here [URL] .......

Ideally I wanted the sums by date to be displayed horizontally and not vertically as shown in the picture, but was unable to do so. Anyways, I want to be able to filter those dates, so I can display data just from an specific date, and then change this date whenever I want and the new data will show up.

I tried doing by the checkbox that appears under the "data" dropdown on top of the column; However, when I uncheck a specific date, it dissapears and I have to add it again if I want to see it. Is there a way to keep the values on the dropdown even after I uncheck them? Or even another way to filter the information? Below is the pic of the dropdown I get when trying to sort the data, But as I said If I uncheck one of the values, it dissapears from the list.

How To Get Dates Within A Column On A Table Highlighted Depending On Value

Oct 31, 2013

I'm trying to get dates within a column on a table highlighted depending on their value.

I know how to do this using today's date, but I am having issues in using a separate set date as the parameter.

For example;

I want all values in a table in =K7:K72 that are more than 30 days older than a value set in A3 to be highlighted red.

This should be quite easy, but every time I enter anything the whole column changes colour when this is incorrect.

Calculation In Value Area In A Pivot Table

Aug 19, 2014

I set up my pivot table but on the Value area I need to make a multiplication with the total values, not just sum it all up.

Normally in the Value area you can choose Sum, Count, Average, etc, but you can't multiply it with another cell. There is a "product" option but it multiply the total values together, it doesn't ask for another cell value.

Table Inside Chart Area

Aug 4, 2008

trying to find a way to insert a table into an active chart area.

unlike inserting charts as objects inside of a spreadsheet, i am trying to insert a table of the spreadsheet into the chart window.

the purpose is so that i may have a numerical reference to my data.

usually i post questions to which i have begun work on - but i have had no luck even brainstorming how this would be done!

the ONLY solution i have surmised is to insert a table into a chart area as an Object(picture)

but how would one write a macro for making dynamic range screen shotpicture files?

Pivot Table - Text In Values Area

Jan 9, 2012

From the research I've done, it seems that pivot tables do not support text in the values area, period.

Quite a bit of work has gone into aggregating this data, and it's so close, but the text fields are showing 0.

Have a look. Double-clicking on cell C5 (sheet 1) drills down into the individual record. Cell E2 (sheet 4) contains the text value I need--"Not Stated".

Is there any quick workaround to get this text value to showup in cell C5 of the pivot table?

Excel 2010 :: Pivot Table Reference Is Not Valid When Moving Data And Pivot Table Together?

Mar 19, 2013

On a worksheet, I created:

- a list of data
- a pivottable based on these data

When moving this worksheet this worksheet to another workbook, the pivot table can't refresh anymore. This throws an error message "Reference is not valid". To work around this problem I need to adapt the datasource. The same occurs if the list and the pivot table are on separate sheet, with the added strange behaviour that, when data an PT are split, it is not possible to move both sheet together.

This would not be a big issue if my problem had to be solved manually. The real problem is that I need to move the sheets from a C# program.

Userform That Pulls And Edits Cells

Jan 28, 2010

I am trying to put together multiple userforms that perform separate tasks. I have been using code found on this forum, and it's helped out a lot, but i'm still having trouble on one of the userforms. the one that i'm having the biggest trouble with called frmEditData. What it is designed to do is pull data from different fields and display them in the textboxes on the different sheets. then, the user has the option of updating those tabs and saving the changes. For the life of me, i cannot get the data to change. it always reverts back to the original information in the cells.

i have to say again that I don't really know how to read the code too well just yet, and i've been copying code that appears to work on other sheets, but it might not necessarily work here. I have attached a rough copy of what i've been working on.

Graph The Following Data In An Area Chart With Line Charts Superimposed On The Area Chart

Nov 1, 2006

I am trying to graph the following data in an area chart with line charts superimposed on the area chart. I have a lot of data (and a lot going on) so I'm trying to figure out the best way to show this in excel from a functional standpoing (i can't get this to work in excel!!) to also an asthetic standpoint (dont want it to look terrible or illegible). This is what I'm trying to chart:

1) Weather data (temperature) by region:
So one region, would be: Northwest
I would like the "area" (so a shaded region) to be the min/max of the temperature data for each month.

2) I would like to show the temperature for each year as a line graph on the chart - so you can see if a year falls in or out of the shaded region.

3) I would like to show a company's sales increases across the same months per year as separate line charts. I may choose to just show the biggest outlier year in the end... or to show 2006 (the latest data).

What I am trying to convery with the chart is that the company's sales is or is not tied to weather deviations. I have attached an excel file with the data. I haven't been able to use the area chart or get a two axis chart to work or get it to look even remotely professional.

Reference To A Table

I've been using the vlookup and hlookup functions for a while, but am not an expert and I've come across this scenario. with one of my larger sheets (a few hundred lines and a dozen or so columns - I know, too much info for a spreadsheet but coworkers are used to them) if there was a way to combine the hlookup and vlookup functions to find a specific value if I give it the vertical axis value as well as the horizontal axis value. Is it possible to combine these two or perhaps another way to find the value if the column and row are specified? Just to clarify, there is no repetition of rows or columns.
