Right Click Button That On Action Draw Rectangular Auto-Shape?

I have a bit of code that I saved as an add-in. The code does a couple things: (1) Creates a right-click button that on action (2) draws a rectangular auto-shape that is the size of any selected range.
The add-in seems to loaded correctly.
However, when I launch a new excel sheet, my intent was to have the code (the right click option) be available whenever I opened Excel.
Is there another step to accomplish this?

I have some code, in one part of it I am storing a number (between 1 and 8) as Integer. Is it possible to reference this variable to draw some rectangles on a sheet, sort of
"If MonitorDetail (this is the name of the variable) .value = 2 then
Here I place the code to draw the rectangle on the page. The macro currently stops at Monitordetail with a error telling me its a "Invalid Qualifier".

I am researching the possibility of using Excel 2003 WITHOUT a Cad or Drawing package to simulate a drawing. (Consultants inquiries are WELCOME). The idea is to prompt the user (Sales Rep or Customer) for a few key dimensions and then plot out a closed curve based on the coordinantes entered. This shape, which would need to be accurately scaled, would then be sectioned and used as a canvas for dragging and dropping various icons.
Why use Excel instead of CAD?
Other than "everyone" having it, the placement of the "icons" relative to the perimeter of the curve will be used to estimate material costs and generate a quotation like a configurator application.
Key hurdles seem to be the drawing of a curve with cells as pixels and using drag & drop with custom icons - possible as an Add-In?

I need the tabs of a project action log to auto-populate and auto-delete in a master log. (So when something is added or deleted in a tab it is added or deleted on the master) I use excel a little bit for work and personal finance purposes but I have zero experience with macros or VBA.

I have an excel file with a column (I) which lists the total number of businesses in a different tab (DATA) that meet certain restrictions (these restrictions being listed in the same row in different cells). When the cell under coluimn "I" is double-clicked, it pulls the businesses from tab DATA that meet the restrictions for that row and shows them all in another tab.
I don't know the person that created this and was wondering if there is a way to figure out what is being done to make this happen? I looked in macros, but didn't see anything relating to this. Anyone know how this is done?
So you know, I have tried double-clicking other cells, but nothing happens - not even editing into the cell (altho this can be done from the toolbar up top).

Running into this issue of "transworksheet macros"
I have a master "update" commandbutton on sheet 1. I have two sub "update" buttons on sheet 2 and 3 respectively.
What I would like to do is have the user click the master button, that would "click" the two sub buttons so they run their respective macros on their respective worksheets (within the same worksheet.
I have tried pasting the macro code in the master button, telling it to select the sub worksheet and then run the macro, but the marco runs itself on the master worksheet instead.

I am trying to create a clickable image map. I have one macro that is activated when any shape is clicked, but it executes different conditions depending on which shape is clicked.
How do I check whether a specific shape is clicked?

I have a file with many different row sizes and after calculating the figure, we will need to add up the total for a particular job. Due to the irregular data on each job (some with only 1 line item where sometimes the job have few line items).
The cell to sum already has a formula for the data.
For example, I already have a formula on Column L to get the figures. After few line items, I will need to add a total to the lines item, also on Column L. I think we can uses 2 sets of data from 2 different column as "pointers", Column D and the formula column itself (but I don't know how to). The columns that I need a sum function will be from Column L to X. After doing the sum, can we at the same time draw a sum line? (single top line and double bottom line).
Am I being "too greedy" ? Imagine if we have more than thousands lines of such data to be added manually and to draw these lines manually.

I currently am using a form button to create new rows.
I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-

However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.

I am trying to develop a system to allow me select different parts from multiple sheets and then add them into a bill of material on a separate sheet.

I have written some VB script the best I can and it includes a 'commandbutton' to make it easy for the user of the workbook to use.
This is how it works:
Go to 'Step 1 - Manifold 8640' tab and highlight one of the yellow cells.Once you have selected a yellow cell, you then click the 'select' button above.The value (along with other values) are copied to the 'Smart Calc' sheet.Then you go to 'Step 2 - Gland Plate' tab, select a yellow cell, click the 'Select' button.Notice how the 'Step 2 - Gland Plate' value is entered into a different group in the 'Smart Calc' sheet - this is great................BUT
The issue I am having is:
If the user goes to 'Step 1 - Manifold 8640' tab, highlights the desired yellow cell then presses the 'Select' button twice, it will add two lines of data in the relevant 'Step 1 - Manifold 8640' section....This is ok.But when the user clicks a third time, the 'Step 1' data will overflow into the 'Step 2' section of the 'Smart Calc' tab...because the script tells the data to look for the next available line to write to. This is what I am trying to avoid!
Instead, i would like a message box to popup to indicate to the user that they cannot add anymore data into into the 'Step 1' or 'Step 2' sections of the 'Smart Calc' tab until they clear the data from within the relevant section in 'Smat Calc'.
I would like to set limits on where each 'Step 1' or 'Step 2' data is written to the 'Smart Calc' sheet (so it is within its relevant section). As you can see the script basically looks for the next available cell but this isn't really good when the data 'overflows'.
Note that you are able to highlight the yellow cells in the 'Smart Calc' tab and press the delete key, it will delete the data to clear the line. That is how i designed it to work so if the user makes a mistake they are able to just delete the relevant line and enter new data.

How do you references the properties of a shape? I am having trouble with 2 different types. Firstly, I have a worksheet with a group of commandbuttons (all added using the Control toolbox) and I want to loop through them changing, for example, the enabled property of each to TRUE.
Secondly, I have some commandbuttons on a worksheet (added using the Forms toolbox). How would I loop through changing, say, the text on the buttons. I used the macro recorder to try to get an idea and got the following:
Sheet1.Shapes("button 15").Select
Selection.Characters.Text = "New Text"
Although this works, it is not very elegant, how can it be achieved without selecting the button each time, but rather by directly accessing the property.

I have a button (group containing and add and delete button).
I want to identify the row (position of shape/button calling the macro) to enable inserting a new row (1 row down from current row).
Then do the same to delete a row (position of shape/button calling the macro) to enable deletion of selected row.
This will allow me to add/insert rows by the button located at that row
The problem i have is getting the row property (row position of the button eg. TopLeftCell.Row) of the add button. The add button (RowBtnAdd) is a shape within a group (BtnGrp)
I also note that when a group is copied, it has the same shape name as that copied.
I want to keep the add and delete shape within the group (BtnGrp).
I do not want to select a cell or row or enter a row number to delete etc.

I have written a small piece of code that handles clicks on buttons on an excel spread sheet. When a button is pressed, i need to know the row number where the button resides in.
I have searched and read about this issue on several forums, and they all indicate that i need to use something like
application.caller.topleftcell.row
to get the row number and
application.caller.topleftcell.column
to get the column number.
However, when i use the row variant, it ALWAYS returns row number 1. When i use the column variant, it returns the column number it is actually in.
i have added the full code that is creating the buttons below, and also the part that displayes the rownumber that is incorrect.

I have many workbooks that I receive from clients I run various Excel VBA macros on depending on which workbook it is, and I need to automate all of this so that anyone can run an simple .exe user interface designed in VB 2005 Express Edition where when that interface is run, a window opens on the destop with a collection of buttons, when the user clicks one of the buttons, Excel launches, loads the appropriate file and runs an already-existing appropriate Excel macro, then some file maintenance is done, like moving a group of files from one subdirectory to another.

I am using VBA to pull a web query to get sone info from an intranet site.
Unfortunately, the data it pulls is usually old. I've found the only solution is to open a browser manually and to click the Reload button on the web page then navigate back to my workbook and run it again. Then it will pull the most up to date info.
I've tried several ways of forcing a refresh of the data, but have not figured it out yet.
I have been trying the past couple of hours to use the send keys button to tab down to the button on the page I need and to hit enter, thus forcing a refresh, but I can't seem to get that to work either.

On a spreadsheet I have a button which has a macro assigned to it, for some reason when I protect the worksheet then then click the button, nothing happens (or though I do get egg timer for a second). but when I unprotect the shet its fine.
ive used this type of method many tiems, and cant see what the problem is, have tried all combination of locking and unlocking cells in and around etc, but nothign changes it.

I have a spreadsheet with 6 buttons on it. Ive been using the code from Daves Download Page to log users of the spreadsheet, however im now want to log which button is being clicked the most. Is this possible? Ive tried to do it myself, by adding a hidden sheet, and adding code to each button to add a line to the new sheet each time the button was clicked etc, but faield miserably.

I need a formula (or formulas) to give me the "coordinates" (Column & Row location) of a certain value in a large rectangular range. Intuitively this should be doable with a smart combination of VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, ADDRESS and/or CELL functions (maybe in the form of "array formulas") but I can't seem to find the way...
Here is an example of what I need:
I have a large rectangular range (A10:F500), full of numerical values. Then in cell A1 I have one of the (many) values contained in the range, let's say, 3.14159. I need two formulas that give me the following:
a) A formula in cell B1 that tells me in which COLUMN of the range the value 3.14159 is located
a) A formula in cell C1 that tells me in which ROW of the range the value 3.14159 is located
If the range consisted of a single column (or a single row), this would be an easy INDEX and MATCH combination.... but I'm dealing with a *rectangular* range here...
