Saving Multiple Sheets As Separate PDFs?

Jan 9, 2014

I have an Excel file with multiple sheets (over 100). I want to save them each as an individual PDF, with different (but similar format) names.

As an example, I want each PDF to be be called "Date Name" (i.e. "1-8-2014 Sarah", and next one will be "1-8-2014 Beth", etc.)

Is there a way to do this all at once, instead of my having to manually save each one? Is there a way for me to set it so that the title lists the date and then, for example, whatever is listed in A1 (which will be the name)?

One other question is that because I get this report from someone else who generates it, the way the file is formatted on my computer is that the print area is set at too small, so if I convert immediately to PDF, everything gets messed up. I have to manually make the print area bigger so that the PDF version encompasses everything on one page. Right now I've been manually adjusting the print area page by page - any way to do this all at once?

Copy And Save Multiple Worksheets To New File?

Oct 30, 2011

I have a file that opens a number of files from a source directory (which is identified by the User at run-time) & merges the source data into various worksheets (which all works fine)

Now what I'd like to be able to do is to be able to (silently) save multiple worksheets back to separate files in the original directory based on each worksheet name - e.g:

"Sheet1" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet1.xlsm
"Sheet2" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet2.xlsm
"Sheet3" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet3.xlsm
...
"Sheetn" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheetn.xlsm

(Note that "Control Sheet" also contains Command Buttons & VBA which I'd like to preserve)

Save Different Tab Excel To Individual Text Files?

Nov 14, 2013

I want to get a vba which will convert an excel with different tabs to individual text files. IT MUST BE PIPE DELIMITED.

So if there is an .xls file with 5 different tabs, i should get 5 text files with each text file getting name of the worksheet it was created from.

I have a similar code but somehow it is doing the conversion only for last worksheet, also it is saving the file in the same name as workbook.

Code:
Sub save_as_text()
Dim i As Long, txt As String, delim As String
delim = "|"
With ActiveSheet.UsedRange
For i = 1 To .Rows.Count
txt = txt & vbCrLf & _
Join(Evaluate("transpose(transpose(" & .Rows(i).Address & "))"), delim)
Next
End With
Open Replace(ThisWorkbook.FullName, ".xls", ".txt") For Output As #1
Print #1, Mid$(txt, 2)
Close #1
End Sub

Save Selected Worksheet Into Individual File Vba

May 23, 2006

The idea was to save the the selected files specified in the array as individual files. For example, In the Workbook "Main", there are worksheets "Susan", "Mary" and "John". If i specify "Susan" and "Mary" in the array, it should output only these 2 individual files. However, I am only getting the file which is actively selcted in the main. Is there anything wrong with the for loop?

Sub SaveShtsAsBook()

Dim ws As Worksheet

Left(ThisWorkbook. Name, Len(ThisWorkbook.Name) - 4)

Copy And Paste Value Macro / Save Individual File To Right Of Specific Tab

Mar 25, 2013

I have a current macro that saves each sheet as their own file. The first 10-15 sheets are not really necessary, so I typically delete them once the macro has run. I am looking to add two things to my current code:

1. Add a tab called Start. Make the macro look for 'Start' tab and then just save each sheet to the right of that as its own file.

2. Save each sheet in the macro as just a copy/paste value. They current have a lot of links and it makes each file close to 3MB. That makes it incredibily difficult to paste all in one email.

Here is the current code:

Sub CreateWorkbooks()
'Creates an individual workbook for each worksheet in the active workbook.
Dim wbDest As Workbook
Dim wbSource As Workbook
Dim sht As Object
Dim strSavePath As String
On Error GoTo ErrorHandler

Generate A Master Worksheet From Individual Worksheets

Dec 8, 2009

I'm having trouble making a master worksheet that imports data from a set of worksheets that are in the same file directory.

Basically,
I have about 200 or so rate sheets and I need to get them all into one master worksheet so that way I can run different data and graphs without manually typing each one into the master worksheet.

I've not really new to excel; however I am new to VBA and I'm assuming that's what I need to use??

I've now uploaded all the correct files that I'm using.

Attached:
RC1272.xls
Master RCF Report.xls

I need to find a way to import the info RC1272 and others alike into the master file. In reality, I'll have about 150-200 "RC" to get moved over.

What stuff that I need to move from the individual RC files are highlighted in YELLOW in the RATESHEET tab

Here's a list of the items that I need moved over from RateSheet (from top to bottom and left to right) to the master file

Provider Name: Column B
Provider Number: Column D
OSS/IPC Resident days: Column F
Total Resident Days: Column G
Total Provider Beds: Column E
Total Allowance Days: Column H...........................

Create Individual Worksheets From Data Based On Conditions

Sep 15, 2009

I’ve created a spreadsheet to record all transactions ( Sheet 1) at a train auction for members only (Sheet 2). Currently, the workbook I created will ‘manually’ create receipts for any buyers/sellers by filling in Member's name in Sheet 1 and then selecting ‘View ‘Member’ Receipt’ button.

Ideally, I would like a macro that will automatically generate a worksheet for any member that has sold or bought an item at the auction and insert worksheets between ‘Start’ & ‘End’ tabs (with option to refresh data) in location order (A-D). Because members come from near and far we would like to generate the members that need to travel the farthest first. Is it possible to create a receipt for only the members that have transactions?

Macro To Split Table Of RawData Into Individual Worksheets Based On Column C Value?

Jun 19, 2014

I am trying to divide a table of data (7 Columns, 500-1000'ish rows) into individual worksheets based on any unique values in column. There may be anywhere from 10-30 instances of the same value in Column C, and I need to bring all rows of each unique instance into a newly created worksheet to be labelled the same as the value in Column C.

The RAW data will be updated monthly by keeping a template file copying and pasting data, therefore I am hoping to have a "SORT" button with this Macro assigned to it. I have quickly thrown together a sample workbook with how the RAW DATA will be pasted into the file, with additional sheets showing how I would like the data split and organised.

Finding Multiple Values For Specific Individual Through Multiple Sheets

Jan 5, 2014

I am working with a nonprofit to set up their financial ledgers. There is one workbook with 12 sheets, one for each month. The goal is to be able to set up a formula that searches through all 12 sheets for every donation that a specific individual has made. For instance, let's say that John Smith gave x amount of money on 1/1/2000, y amount of money on 1/10/2000, and z amount of money on 2/2/2000. This data will appear on 2 different worksheets. I have the following formula, which allows me to look through one sheet at a time:

{=INDEX(Jan!$B:$B,SMALL(IF(Jan!$A:$A=Smith!$A$2,ROW(Jan!$A:$A)),ROW(1:1)))}

Where Column A in each sheet is individual name, and column B is amount donated. Sheet "Jan" is the data for the month of January, and sheet "Smith" is the culmination of John Smith's donations for the full year. Using this array function, I am able to retrieve all data for John Smith in the month of January, but I can't find a way to make one function that searches for all of John Smith's donations in each month. Is there a way to build an array function in VBA that would accomplish this?

VBA Code To Get Individual Values In A List Placed Into Individual Cells

Apr 7, 2014

My current project involves sorting a spreadsheet, selecting specific qualifying data from the sheet, storing it into a variable, the pasting the individual values from the list into individual cells on a different sheet within the same workbook. Here is the code I have so far...

Code:
Sub Test()
'' freeze screen updating to remain on main worksheet
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
'' move to Avaliable worksheet
[Code] ..

When this code runs the first item in the list pastes into Sheet10 A1, but no other values from the list are placed into Sheet10. Previous to this I had been using a variation of this code to push the list into a combobox list within a userform. In that case instead of

Code:
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Sheet10").Range("A1") = x

I had

Code:
Combobox1.list = x

And this worked perfectly; creating a list within the combobox (in fact I can use this modification to interrogate my code to determine if the list is being properly generated, and it is).

Ideally, as well as the address I would like the date modified as this is pretty close to the date of the certificate so will suffice.

Failing the date, just the addresses will do which need to go on separate rows in Excel.

I've tried copying and pasting the files but to no avail.

Creating Individual Report Cards (worksheets) Based On Template For Report Card

Aug 30, 2013

I have two worksheets in my report cards:

1) Data - the students are listed in Column A, math scores in Column B, reading scores in Column C and science scores in Column D. The grades of 300 students are entered in this sheet.

Student
Math
Reading
Science

Jimmy
75
84
100

[code].....

2) Report Card template - This is the report card that needs to be generated for each student. It's pulling the student name and grades from the Data worksheet.

Student Name
=Data!$A2

Math
=Data!$B2

Reading
=Data!$C2

Science
=Data!$D2

How do I create worksheets (report cards) for additional students? I have 300 students in the school. I need the next worksheet to reference Data!$A3. I know how to cut and paste the report card template and then edit =Data!A2 to be =Data!A3 to create a report card for Sally. How do I create the 300 report cards I need?

I've been teaching for 13 years. I can create a report card for each student in my class and edit each worksheet individually for each student. Now I've been asked to do this for the whole school and I don't know how to create the other 299 sheets I need.

Autofit Merged Cells From Pdfs

Dec 3, 2009

I've just created a spreadsheet that we will be using as a project review form. In this spreadsheet I have multiple rows of merged cells, column D to N, for comments. I need these comment areas, merged rows, to autofit whatever is cut and pasted or typed into them.

The first problem is cutting and pasting from a pdf. All of the documents we received for the projects we bid are in pdf format. We often cut and paste from those documents into an older version of our review sheet that was built in Word. Trying to cut and paste the same information into Excel ends up in failure. Is there a way that this can be done without jumping through hoops?

The second problem I’m running into is when I cut and paste into a comment area I get the typical Excel error message that the information being pasted does not fit the area it is being pasted into. It there a workaround for this?

My third problem is autofitting the pasted information into the merged cells. I’ve seen some VBA and tried a couple but they don’t work automatically when the comments area is filled. How can I do this? I don’t know VBA. I'm using MS Office 2003

VBA Code For Saving PDFs To Edit Name

Jun 24, 2014

I'm working on a mac and have a macro that will go through all the sheets in my workbook and save them as PDFs to a specific location.

Sub CreatePDF()
For sh = 19 To Sheets.Count
Sheets(sh).ExportAsFixedFormat Type:=xlTypePDF, Filename:= _
"/Users/mikemahoney/Desktop/Publisher Payables/Statements/June 2014" & Sheets(sh).Name & "June 2014 Revenue Share Statement" & ".pdf", _
Quality:=xlQualityStandard, IncludeDocProperties:=True, _
IgnorePrintAreas:=False, OpenAfterPublish:=False
Next
End Sub

The part in bold is obviously where I am saving the PDFs but it is also being included in the naming of the file. Need replacing the red text in the naming of the file with the contents of cell B9? I would still like to save the PDF to "/Users/mikemahoney/Desktop/Publisher Payables/Statements/June 2014" I just don't want the file-path to be included in the name of the file.

Also, this code seems to run into errors if a sheet is hidden, hence starting at sheet 19. Any way to tweak this code to skip over hidden sheets?

Script To Automatically Hyperlink Pdfs

Jan 27, 2010

I did find something related

http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1167426

, but as my knowledge in VB very limited I'm unable to make the neccessary modifications to fit my case.
the case:
the warehouse I'm working on is tracked by a big and messy excel file that includes details about various components.
the warehouse is virtually represented by folders that represent a drawer, each drawer includes 0-10 components's dateasheets in pdf file format.
I'm looking for a script that would hyperlink the specific pdf to each component to a certain column that includes the component's name.
there's another column in the excel that supplies in which drawer the component resides as you can see:

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/7830/blablaf.jpg

You can also see how the drawers are represented virtually by folders with datesheets inside
components 20-29 all reside in drawer 20.

its worth noting that sometimes the whole drawer is empty and so both the column in excel and the folder will be aswell.
the script should(I assume) check the pdf's filename in the drawer( mostly the files's name look like in the screenshot), but sometimes the name is only the component's name,so if there is no drawer number before the component's name it would still know how to identify and hyperlink the pdf.

Company A

I want to do a find and replace for all of Column B, where all the names are replaced with their respective color values. If possible, I'd like this to all happen with the individual cells (so for example, B3 might go from "Brown, Jones, Smith" to "Red, Red, Blue").

If that's not possible, I could divide all the names into individual cells and then find and replace.
