I have a form that searches in an entire workbook for certain keywords, for example I fill in a last name in the textfield txtName and pus the search command button. As a result I get all the rows of the entire workbook containing this name. There are othre search fields in the form that do similar things...

Is there a code that would search for a name on a sheet and take me there when it finds it? The search buttonand place to write in the name would be on one sheet, all the possible names would be on a differant sheet. Also the names would not be in the same rows or columns. Each name will be under a picture so some space will be between names.

I have Column Headers in Row 1 (except column A), What I need to do is write a Macro or some code to
1.Search the entire row 1 for column headers containing the suffix _CSV and delete the entire columns.
2.Shift all remaining columns to the left so no blank columns exist. (There is a time stamp in row A that I wish to keep where it is.)
Next I would like a separate routine to sort the columns in the order of a Pre-defined list that I specify in a range. For example the list of column headers reside in the Range (A1:A200)

It should work like the original Excel search (Ctrl-F), but with a simpler design, like with my own Text "Enter your Query" and a Button "Submit Query" / "Quit search". Is there the possibility to Highlight the Search Target? The problem hereby is that this highlighting should not be permanent. That means the user sees the target for which he searched for, the cell highlighted in a different color, etc. But as soon as the user clicks onto another cell, etc., the highlighting vanishes. If there is no fitting match, there should be a MessageBox like "Sorry the Target xyz cannot be found"

I can get it to work to search one cell (as below):
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Same",G10)),"No Change",'Aug 09 Matrix'!F10)
(In this case the respone is No Change as Cell G10 contains "Same")
However cannot get it to work for several cells. I have pasted below and highlighted the function I would like it to perform:
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Same",G10:R10)),"No Change",'Aug 09 Matrix'!F10)
Essentially the other cells in that row (G10:R10) all contain "Same", however for some reason it is identifying this as FALSE and putting in the data from the 'Aug 09 Matrix' sheet.
I have tried several methods to delete the entire row if the cell in column 'A' is blank ...

I have a excel 2007 workbook that has 5 sheets "MASTER" , "RED" , "WHITE", "GOLD" & "BLUE". There are 7 columns in each sheet and the master has about 8,000 rows . In column D of each sheet there is a unique number (approx. 8 - 10 digits ) that I would like to at the press of a command button search through sheets "RED" "WHITE" "GOLD" & "BLUE" against the unique numbers in the "MASTER" sheet and if there any duplicates numbers delete the entire row but leave all the data in the master sheet.

I was playing around with the example, the Cat_Mouse.xlsm, and when i modified the 'myList' and 'myColor' arrays, it does not work.

When i run the macros, the word "Bat" does not become colored red. interestingly enough, when i substitute the word "bat" for the word "hat" in the "myLIST array, the word "hat" does change to the red font.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a problem with a macro i'm working on. I got column D which contains text as "Figures", "Toys", "3DS", "PS3" etc. I also got column N where i need the macro to display "Toys" if it's a toy, figure, etc; or "Games" if it's "PS3", "PS4" etc.
I'm using the following code, to also select only blank rows (so to ignore row 1 which is table header). Problem is that the result shows only "Games".

My worksheet has 1096 rows of data including headers. I am trying to create dynamic named ranges using the OFFSET function but when I check to see if they are capturing the entire range I see they are not.
Here is my formula:

what im looking to do is, if the combobox value is selected as Decline then it should display a messagebox that reference value in cell B is denied. if combobox value is Agreed then the macro should search the database workbook for the text entered in column b of wksPB and then copy data of C:E of wksPB to H:J of database sheet where that text is found and also the approver name in wksPB C24 to the approver cell of where that text was found. I've reached till finding the text but what I get my head twiting on is how to copy the text from wksPB column B:F to database sheet column H:K. Im attaching the sample workbooks and the code where ive reached till.

How do I protect an entire workbook, rather than each worksheet, individually?
Also, I have several worksheets in this workbook. When info is entered in b8, I want this info automatically inserted in all other worksheets within that workbook.

Is it possible to add VBA code so that once I click macro it automatically runs throughout workbook?

The above statement works great, but when I try to replace the HQA01 (worksheet name) with a cell reference it doesn't work anymore. I want to point to the cell that has that name of the sheet in it rather than hardcode each sheet name.
