Best approach for searching for a piece of string from a multi-lined cell. I am trying to do it via VBA but can't seem to figure it out. I tried FIND and Instr. I was thinking of converting the multiple lines into a single line then do an instr comparison from the result but I don't know how to do it.

So I have a worksheet filled with a lot of text in individual cells in one column. What I would like to do is split up the text into different columns in one row so that I can use it easier. The data would be seperated by blank lines within the cell (basically when you hit alt+Enter in the cell). Sample data of a cell is below...

What I would love to be able to do is split up the above sample cell into three different columns, in the same row. So the above cell would become...

And then so on and so forth for the rest of the data in that column. I realize that VBA code will be needed for the above... I searched the forum for something that would address this particular issue but have had no luck.
I have this data and want to extract the character after the letter Y if the string has a Y in it.

I need to find a way to find the first nonzero character in the string, and what position it is in. For instance, in the above example, 2 is the first non-zero character, so the function would return 5, since the 2 is the fifth character into the string.
I have a list of customers and account numbers contained within a cell. I need a formula if possible that searches from the right of the cell and then returns the all the numbers. e.g.

I'm trying to search for a string and move the entire data to another sheet. For example,

I have a table of data that I need to find the leftmost and rightmost number in that are greater than a specified number in another cell. I've attached a spreadsheet to show what I've got to work with.

I need to figure out a way to search for a string in column D and then paste the entire row that string is in to a new sheet. I'd like for this to continue until I paste all of the rows of that string into the next sheet. This is what I got so far, and when I run it, it says an error occurs and then it says either press enter or paste. After I hit enter, it pastes the first row to the next sheet, but that's it. Also should I be doing this with a button?

I have about 2000 rows of text. Each row is a short write up about prospective new business. There is a reference to a projected dollar amount Within 'MOST' of the write-ups. In order to generate a report about the potential dollars being projected, I need to find an easy way to extract the dollar amount from the text.
In most cases, the projected dollar amounts are preceded by "FY2014" then a "$". However, there are a handful of cases where there is no FY2014, but some variation of the year indicator. Most of the dollar amount entries are written is short text - FY2014 - $5k, 2014 $15k. While some others are written out - FY2014 - $ - $20,000. In still other cases, within the writeup reference is made to the amount of product projected to be shipped by using the dollar symbols. For example - Estimated ship totals $$ for FY2014 = $5k. I've tried writing some formulas, but as in the last example - the first dollar signs are recognized rather than the dollar sign immediately before the value.

I have a listbox with 8 columns. Multiselect is enabled, and it must stay this way. As part of my program, after the user presses a command button, I need to use the row indexes of the selected rows in order to copy the selected information into an array which is then placed in a different listbox, and then delete the items from the original list. Pseudocode of what I want to do:

But my understanding is that .ListIndex does not work this way with multiselect listboxes. I've tried searching for a solution for a while, but I cannot find one.
I have a udf that returns a string to the cell. The string is made up of multiple string "objects". What I am wondering is if I can set the font color of certain objects so that when the final string is built and returned, the font of those portions is set.
Ex. of simple idea (this is not actually my code, just a way to illustrate. I realize there is no point to this UDF):

Wondering if it is possible to generate a random 4 digit number based off an alphanumeric string?
Example;

In B1 I would like to have a 4-6 digit number that is generated based on the alphanumeric data in Cell A1 (and so on down the list). If that is possible, I would also need to be able to convert back the 4-6 digit number back to its original alphanumeric value
Example;
If B1 returns 643562 it would need to be able to be converted back to 123XVF1234

what I would like is some code that will go down Column E and if a 'time string' ie 1300-2130 is found then copy this string and paste into corresponding value in column C. If a text string is found ie A/L or Sick or anything like this then ignore and move onto next cell, loop this until all cells in column E have been checked.

I have a situation where a word (in this case "Restaurant") is misspelled in a list of about 78,000 location names. The location names are in one column, and the [misspelled] word "Restaurant" is anywhere between the first word of the string, to the last, with any amount of alphanumeric/symbol characters between. For example:

I want to replace any misspellings of the word with correct, but since the list is so long, and the way the word is misspelled varies so much, going through manually is entirely too time-consuming.
Some of the variations I've seen so far are Resta, Restau, Restaur, Restuara, etc...
Is there a way to search and replace cells that contain the text in any location of the string? Specifically, where ever there is JUST "Restau", replace with "Restaurant", regardless of where it is in the string? I have doc with app 1000 rows of data, one col being product description. I want to simply search the entire description column for a particular string of characters and enter a 1 in a new adjacent column where there is a match. Where there is no match, I want a 0 or a blank.

Have the following scenario I'm struggling with in Excel 07:
2 worksheets:
WS1, have a bunch of customer data. Relevant columns in this WS include customer number (unique value) and a column called "adjustment date", which is formatted as a date as the label name implies.
WS2 is a bunch of customer transactional data, with each row being a unique transaction. Relevant columns here include customer number (formatted same as in WS1) and transaction date.
Couple things to note: in WS2, each customer may have dozens of transactions. Right now, I have that WS sorted by transaction date in ascending order (so oldest to newest).
What I'm trying to do (unsuccessfully so far!) is build a formula in WS1 that says "on what date was the customer's first transaction after their adjustment date"?
I've tried constucting something using =index+match, but to no avail.
I have a workbook with 100+ tabs(not in alphabetical order), and am constantly scrolling back and forth looking for tabs, is there a quicker way to search tabs? I have also right clicked the arrows to pull up the box with all tabs, but not the best option either.
