Select Specific Columns Rather Than Entire Row

Sep 28, 2013

I plucked a macro off an old post from here (as I always do), but I'm having trouble tweaking it.

VB:
Sub completedtest()

Dim c As Range
Dim rngG As Range
For Each c In Intersect(ActiveSheet.UsedRange, Columns("i"))

[Code] ....

As it currently stands, the macro selects the entire row of rows containing the letter Y in column I. All I need to change is, I want to simply select columns B through I, rather than the entire row.

Color Entire Row If Cell In Columns Contains Specific Word

Jun 13, 2008

how to format a row based on text that is in a certain column. For instance, if a cell in column B has text in it I need to format the entire rest of the row with a certain background color and text color. I've been searching around here for a while and I think I'm really close, but I just can't seem to nail it down. Here's the code that I've worked on so far.

Sub Reformat()

Dim SrchRng3
Dim c3 As Range

Set SrchRng3 = ActiveSheet.Range("B1", ActiveSheet.Range("B65536").End(xlUp))

Set c3 = SrchRng3.Find("Europe - *", LookIn:=xlValues)
Do

Conditional Formatting Entire Rows Based On Specific Columns?

Mar 25, 2014

I have been trying to find a way of formatting an entire row based on the contents of cells in each column. However i come unstuck when trying to make the column dynamic. Below is an example:

Month
2010
2011
2012

[Code]....

The idea is that i say current year is 2011 and all rows where C contains an a will turn green. What i would like to achieve is that when i change current year to say 2012 the conditional formatting adjusts so that it looks at D instead of C.

Autofilter Will Not Always Select Entire Sheet

Sep 4, 2009

I have a workbook that uses Autofilter.
Column A has data. Column B is hidden, has no data, and is empty.
Colmn C has data, on through the rest of the sheet (to Column AB).

Why column B has no data is unimportant for now. It, however, must maintain its existance and cannot be deleted.

When I select the autofilter sort button on column A, it selects only that column, and not the rest of the sheet. Data is subsequently scrambled.

When I unhide the empty column B and select the sort button on column B, it selects the entire sheet. Data remains intact.

When I select the sort button on column C, it selects the rest of the sheet, but not column A (with data), or B (with no data). Data is subsequently scrambled.

Select Entire Column Except The Merged Cells

May 19, 2014

I've been working on a macro which delivers a daily report. the report is made up of 4 sections (received orders, scheduled orders, pending orders and unusual orders) each section is topped by a title which is a merge of all columns (A through I) the problem I am having is that the first column displays case numbers (to be displayed in text or number formats) and the 7th and 8th columns are dates When I try to have the VBA select the first column to format as a number, it will select all columns due to the merged cells is there a way to format only non-merged cells of a columns

This is the section I currently use for formatting but it doesn't actually work, (everything ends up in a date format)

Deleting Entire Rows Containing A Specific Value

Aug 29, 2007

I've been tasked with developing a macro that will generate schedules. For background, we're taking a QuickBooks Customer file and exporting it to be picked up by the macro. I've got that part working, but now I need to delete various rows based on certain criteria.

The spreadsheet has a field for Job Status which we use to define whether an account is under contract (2 in QuickBooks), or some other status. Basically what I need to do is delete the entire row of data where JobStatus (Column R) is anything but 2.

I want to copy entire row just once doesn't matter how many cells with "A" are in particular row.

Keyword Search - Macros To Change Font Color For Specific Keywords (not Entire Cell)

May 5, 2014

I need to conduct keyword searches in excel and color the keywords a different color without changing the font color of the entire cell. now, i found some code from another thread that does this, but i cant seem to get it to work with more than 2 keywords. i need fine-tuning the provided code to do what i need it to do.

[URL]

the VBA code i used was this:

[Code].....

I was playing around with the example, the Cat_Mouse.xlsm, and when i modified the 'myList' and 'myColor' arrays, it does not work.

Cat_Mouse.xlsm

For example, I modified the code to add the word bat:

[Code] .....

When i run the macros, the word "Bat" does not become colored red. interestingly enough, when i substitute the word "bat" for the word "hat" in the "myLIST array, the word "hat" does change to the red font.

I am looking to use this code to address keywords in my excel file by coloring all key words red and i have more than 10 key words.

How To Delete Entire Columns

Aug 19, 2013

I'm having some problem with a part of my code that deletes entire columns. With ActiveCell as my reference, I want to delete 'Abs_Diff' Columns to the left hand side of the ActiveCell column, including the ActiveCell column. 'Abs_Diff' is a variable of integer type.

SO if ActiveCell column is "P" and 'Abs_Diff'=2, then delete Columns "O:P"
if ActiveCell column is "P" and 'Abs_Diff'=4, then delete Columns "M:P"

My code is selecting columns incorrectly, maybe due to merged cells in cols A,B,C or something..not sure.

Here is my code:

Code:

'DELETE COLUMNS
Set StartPoint = ActiveCell
For X = 1 To Abs_Diff
StartPoint.EntireColumn.Delete
Set StartPoint = ActiveCell.Offset(0, -1)
Next X

Percentage For Entire Columns

Aug 4, 2007

I have a weekly worksheet that my office uses to track order issues. Column H has only 4 possible entries. They are:

Multiple Orders
No Order In System
Credit Info Incorrect
Other

What I need is a formula to keep a running percentage of these 4 entries. Example: Next week, there are 10 errors entered. 3 are Multiple Orders, 2 are No Order in System, 3 are Credit Info Incorrect, and 2 are Other.

I need to get the total # of errors entered and the percentage of each. So in this week, I would need the formula to realize we have 10 total entries with 30% Multiple Orders, 20% Order in System, 30% Credit Info Incorrect, and 20% other.
