View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 10 Workbooks open, one primary workbook where the macro resides, and 9 other, randomly named files (workbooks). The macro needs to copy the values from Workbook2,Sheet1, Range("A1") and paste them into the primary file (location irrelevant for now), close Workbook2, then do the same thing for the remaining open workbooks. Is there a "next" workbook function that doesn't need the "name" of the next workbook?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I would like to do is to be able to open a second workbook from a user form, preform some work on it then save and come back to the same place in the original user form.
So in steps:
1 : user clicks command button to open user form
2: user then clicks on command button on userform that opens 2nd workbook via a yes / no message box, but closes userform on 1st workbook (would be ideal if this could stay open, but hidden)
3: user then does work on 2nd workbook,
4: userform on 2nd workbook saves then activates the 1st workbook and reopens the userform
This is where no matter what I try I cant get the command button on the 1st userform to be clicked automatically so the yes / no message box appears.
This is part of the code in the 2nd sheet commandbutton that saves / closes / opens

Application.Visible=False doesn't work because it close all excels and moreover I can see the workbook for 1 or 2 seconds before hiding.
I have a range named "start" and I have a form named "fMenu". I have used this same code in other spreadsheets to have the userform automatically become visible when the spreadsheet is opened and it works in other workbooks. Apparently I have been struck with the stupid stick this morning. I have a hotkey of "M" and when I use control M the form shows up and the macros invoked by each button on the form are working properly.

This runs the form also when opening the template or a saved workbook based on the template. I want the form to run only when creating a new workbook based on the template. How do I do?
I have a userform with several buttons on, each doing seperate tasks, three of the buttons however are used to load a workbook stored elsewhere in our central data storage drive. Loading these workbooks is not the problem, the problem is when loading these they load up behind the userform and not in a new window.

Though the way it is at the moment it opens the workbook and closes the workbook every time a new value is set to one of the combobox's.
I want to open the workbook on the useform initialize and do everthink the useform need from it. And then on the userform terminate close the workbook. Or somehink to this equlivent so this process of finding the customer referance number goes faster.
I have a Userform with a textbox in it. The user is asked to enter a serial number and press Enter. When the Enter key is pressed, I would like to search for that serial nember in "SourceWorkbook.xls", Sheet1, in column A (or B). If the Serial number is found it should be placed in "DestinationWorkbook.xls", Sheet1 Cell A1 etc. If no serial number is found I would like to display a message about it it. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Excel 2010 and late binding to generate reports. The sheets are blank and unused. I have the UserForm being opened on Workbook_Open and the actual VBA for doing the work in a separate macro in the workbook. All the posts I have found are dealing with accessing cells from the UserForm and I haven't found any dealing with connecting a macro to the UserForm output.
My question is this: I want to return from the UserForm the flags of which reports to run to the (unopened) macro containing the code to do so. How do I open the macro and pass the variables to it?
The UserForm is creatively called "SelectionForm" and the macro is called "DailyFTP" with a Main sub as the entry. I know I can use the code under to capture the radio button and checkbox choices. I have other variables like the names of files set as global variables in the DailyFTP macro. The macro doesn't exist until SelectionForm opens it, so they must be set after the macro is in memory.
I have created a spreadsheet some time ago and have been asked to improve on it but I'm rusty with VBA.
I have an automated ordering system that saves each sent order as the date e.g "05-04-2013.xls" but the management team want a graph with the data for the last 4 weeks compared. I have created a seperate workbook called "consumables report.xls" which has a column with the products listed followed by columns "Quantity" and "cost" which is repeated for the 4 weeks of the month.
I want to add a button to prompt the user to choose the saved order e.g "05-04-2013.xls" (all orders saved in same directory) to copy and paste the quantity and cost columns (c8,D69) into "consumables report.xls". I got this to work earlier but it would only paste the formulas and not the values. So I need
A prompt to open workbook
Copy range (c8,d69)
Close work sheet
Paste special .value (c8,D69)
I dont care if it has to open the workbook to copy the data as this will only be used once a month so it dosnt matter how slow the code is.

I have Monthly sales sheets that import my cash register data into them. I wanted to set them up to do everything without being there. So I have my task manager open excel at 9:30pm everyday and it runs the macro to import the data into the correct day of the month. Here is the workbook

This is in my July spreadsheet only. So is there a way to make it know which month spreadsheet to open on the 1st of the month? So come August 1st it will automatically open the August workbook and input the data for the first day? By using the date?
I have a presentation that I open from a short-cut. After the "Welcome Page" is opened, I want to open a second workbook in a new instance of Excel after 4 seconds.
I think that I can open the new instance of excel, but I don't know how to activate the macro after 4 seconds.
I'm sure there is a function someplace for this that can be used in a macro.
Then, after the second Workbook is opened, I want the Welcome Page "Workbook" closed, leaving the second Worbook open.

Trying to use above code to unload active userform and show new userform when red X (close) selected by operator. With the code as is, the Unload Me leaves the form on the screen and displays the RestrictedOptions form. If i remove the Restrictedoptions.Show, the Unload Me does remove the original form.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhaving trouble with the details of actually making these features work for me. I figured out how to create a UserForm with a ListBox and 2 buttons, but I don't know how to proceed from here.
1. Populate the ListBox in the UserForm with a list of names from the sheet "Totals_Dropdowns", cells K2:K11
2. Make the UserForm pop up and enter the user's selection into cell C40 of the "Regenerate Request"
I know these are very basic operations, and I'm pretty sure I can figure out the rest of my problems once I can get past the above.
My Splash screen opens a few seconds after the workbook has loaded. Is there a way to make the workbook open minimzed until the the splash screen closes then open properly? What I trying to say is that only the splash screen is visible until it closes.

Therefore I wanted to add some piece of code to check if the destination workbook is open. If not then I wanted the macro to open it before tranfering the sheet. I have an Excel application in which I use the Workbook Open event to show a userform.
This works fine when Excel is not already open, but if another Excel workbook is already open, the Workbook Open event does not work.

I have data that daily needs to be refreshed and printed to pdf.
I figure the simplest way to do this would be to task schedule the workbook to open daily. Then on open it will refresh the data, print it after all data has been refreshed and close the workbook.
I set it up originally without the need to print so I have all the queries set to refresh when opening the file, however when I now try and put the code to print to pdf on the workbook open event it runs before the queries are finished running. (Query notes: queries were created through Microsoft query, and are accessing a MySQL database queries set to refresh when opening the file queries set to enable background refresh).
My spreadsheet is meant to track property management issues.
Column M is called "Status"
How can I show only the Open issues on sheet2.
