I've been working on this chart for a while and can't seem to get my x and y axis as well as my series corrected. I have time and distance but since my distances are small I cant seem to make sense on how best to depict my data. Right now it is shown as data points but would love to show value.
Is there a way to label individual points on an excel surface chart? (e.g., naming individual peaks on a hilly terrain, but not labelling any other points)
I have created a line chart that plots weight of a person, but want to show on the plot area what a certain range of weight represent, Ive attached images to show this concept.
I've just started with VBA coding and I'm absolutely stuck with one problem I have had for weeks!
I litterally spent days looking for an answer on google, unsuccessfully of course. So here I am
Right, so the problem is the following:
I have series of bar charts (up to 10) with some relationships between them, and I want to highlight those.
Here is a screenshot:
or here: View image: Untitled
I know how to move the shapes automatically, etc. Yet, the big issue I'm encountering is that I can't find a way to get the position of the circled points!
I tried every possible way with GET.CHART.ITEM but the best I get is the top of the bar and not the points inside of it...
I have a bar chart that was made from table 1 which has the value in it. I have another table, table 2 that has the name corresponding to the value in table 1. I want to color data points in a bar chart with a different color for each name I have in table 2. I also want to give a data label in the data points with the value I have in table 2 instead of the original data label from table 1. Is it possible to do it?
So I have a bar chart with numbers as its data labels...so each bar is divided into 4 colors equaling to 100% ...how can i show percentages next to numbers in the chart...so for example if a bar equals to 200 and each color is lets say 20, 60, 40, 80 ...i would like to show these numbers as well as percentages..i know we can do this manually by inserting a text box but the percentages might change quite often and i dont want to go through the hassle of calculating and changing them each time.
I go to charts and select pie chart and get a graphic illustration of the split.
I'm not sure how I label the different colours?
I want to show that purple = Yes and red = No. I also would like to be able to display the values 200 and 300 on the chart (as happens when you drag the mouse over).
I would like a formula to return the top 10 products sorted by value, but to return the colour name in order starting with the larges and the value in a different column. Ideally I would like to do as little formating as possible. I have attached a spreadsheet as an example
I need someone to go through them assigning a building number, level and location to each of them. I am using drop down menus, the first choice is building and has the following options:
B1 B2 B3 B4A B4B B5 B7
Depending on the option selected there maybe different locations, i.e. B1 has the following available locations:
1-4 4-16 MER ALL KIT
Whereas B7 only has: ALL. The third column, level, operates in a similar way.
I have a data validation list where more than one value should show the same list. Instead of make multiple range, I want to make it so if any of the values are in a cell the data validation list will show the list that goes with those values.
I have x coordinates in column 1 with coresponding y coordinates in column 2. From my data of x,y coordinates I want to find points with similar y values. In my data I have defined groups of numbers, i.e. I have a set of numbers with y values around 30 (+-10), then a new group with y values around 60 (+-10), and so on... Sometimes the groups are not totaly separeted, there could be a few points with y values between 30 and 60. These points can be grouped with the closest group of coordinates (30 or 60). Each group of x,y coordinates could be copypasted in the columns to the right (columns 3 and up).
So what I want to do is find a group of coordinates. This group will have at least 40 individual points +-10 from a group mean. The coordinates need to be sorted out from the data and put in seperate columns.
I have a list of nine teams from B13:B21 with Wins in column C, Losses in Column D, Ties in Column E. Pts are in Column F (all of these run row 13 down to 21). The team listed in B13 has a cell name of One in the Name Box, team in B14 has a cell name of Two, etc up to Nine.
The pts total for each team is also named, so F13 is called ptsone and has a current value of 8. F14 is called ptstwo and has a value of 10, etc.
I'm trying to do is in a different area of the spreadsheet put a formula that will compare the pts values and then list the team standings based on those points.
I have created a dynamic chart using defined names, and the cells in the range are updated on a monthly basis. However these cells are copied from another sheet using a formula i.e =sheetname!$cell_no. and until that data is entered they have 0 values - my question is, is there a way to suppress the 0 values which are being 'plotted' on the dynamic chart until they have appropriate values?
I need to have two area charts combined, but they have different x and y values. Is there another way to do this. When I try to combine them in one graph, I can only use one x-axis value.
Is there a way to limit the range of values on the Y-Axis on the lower end? Like I don't wish the Y-axis to begin from 0 but say 500. Is that possible?
I have a set of data values ranging from 650 - 850, but the Excel graph however looks too fine because the Y-axis begins from 0.
I would like to know how can I plot my x axis of a chart with the maximum and minimum value that I have in this variable. Note that my variable is no going from the lower value to the highes one, it is random. So what I did is to use the autoscale of the chart, but it is not working as I would like. Any solution?
The code that I use is:
Code:
' TO GET THE INITIAL and FINAL VALUE and the STEP Worksheets(wsheet(27)).Activate ActiveSheet.ChartObjects(chartName(11)).Activate ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MinimumScaleIsAuto = True ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MaximumScaleIsAuto = True ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MajorUnitIsAuto = True xScaleMin = ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MinimumScale xScaleMax = ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MaximumScale xScaleStep = ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).MajorUnit
'After I use them (xScaleMin,xScaleMax,xScaleStep) for several charts, in this way:
Negative or zero values cannot be plotted on log charts!!
Some of my log charts will have negative or zero values at certain input variable combinations, however, I'm obviously not interested in those charts when this is the case.
I have several files of data that are from a data logger. The data is broken up by day. Each day has roughly 43000 rows of data, at its sample rate. This has made charting the data a nuisance. Is there a way to resample the data so it fits in the 32000 points excel can chart? In the future I will set a sample rate that will keep the number of points below the 32K per series. I would like to be able to have the total number of points reduced by averaging the data not by simply deleting one of every four rows.
I have a data for sedimentation along a pipe. I measured sediment concentrations at different lengths of the pipe, after different intervals of time. So I have 35 concentration values, take at 5 different points along the pipe, at 7 different times. Is it possible to plot a chart with these 35 points, with depth on y-axis, time on x-axis? These 35 points are percent removals (0-100). .
I'm running a query of 30 and 60 days worth of data but I don't want certain dates to be included in the queries. How do I exclude certain dates and at the same time pull in day 31 to include this in my 30 day high or average etc.?
I want to exclude 1/15 because it is a holiday and it just repeats the data from 1/12. So I want it to pull in the data for 1/12 if I were doing a 5 day query. As I said before I need to do a MAX, MIN, AVERAGE and STDEV of 30 and 60 days but my formulas are skewed because of the holidays.
I have created a series of charts in excel and the data sources for them are located on a hidden sheet. I need to keep all the charts active as I have set up macros that enable a viewer to automatically change the chart with a click of a button. However the data behind these charts is confidential and I cannot let the viewer have access to the individual data points.
My issue is that when you 'hover' your mouse over the lines on the charts, the various data points can be seen
Is there a way to make these data points hidden when you hover your mouse over the chart but at the same time keep the source data active behind the chart?
I need to map the names of the companies on the x axis (ANF, AEO, ARO, PSUN) and 5% to 30% on the y axis. Plotted for each company should be the min and max. So two points for each company. How can I plot this data. Underlying data as follows:
The question is pretty much described in the post title. Here is the situation: I have a workbook that has data plugged into it manually throughout many sheets, and at the end there are a few sheets with different graphs and charts that are generated by a macro. This macros works perfectly - all the data is accurate and the figures are perfect when compared with a manual count. The problem I have is that the cells where the macro puts the summed values are in a chart that is supposed to create a bar graph. Normally, if I change a value that a bar graph uses I see the bar graph change - but that does not happen with the cells that have values placed in them by the macro. I also have a section that sums the values in the chart to make sure it's running right, and these values do not update automatically as well. The cells have the formula =SUM(B3:B12) and so on, in them. Right now, every time that I run the macro I need to go into the cell with the formula, hit 'enter', and then it does the summation. Is there a way to correct this problem, or is this something that is part of excel?
