I need to display a subtotal amount in a field named Invoice Total in my spreadsheet. I created a subtotal, which is the amount that I need on each line in the invoice total column. Here is an example:
Invoice Number, Invoice Total, Line_Item_Total

but im doing an XML export and excel only exports in text format. I would like to somehow resterize or only use the displayed amount instead of the text which is exported (ie- 37805.1640277778)
I have an excel workbook which contains two sheets. Sheet 1 contains a list of items. I need to search for each of these items in sheet 2 and sum up the 'base price' and enter into column B of sheet 1. So basically
1. I need to pick up the first item in sheet 1.
2. Find the column which contains "Module Name" in sheet 2.
3. Search for the item picked up from sheet 1 in the column which contains "Module Name" in sheet 2.
4. Sum up the "Base Price" for all occurrences and enter this summed value into column B of sheet 1 next to each item.
I'm running the subtotal function, but for some reason Excel is including first row of next group in one of the groups. The label I am subtotalling on is the result of a formula, but why would that make a difference?

I am trying to get a "range" for each folder using the first instance in columnB and the last instance in columnC. For example, what I need to end up with is:

Again, I was able to finally accomplish this, but it took some way outside the box steps. Tried it in Access with simple query for Min and Max, but the caveat is that there are identical folder names for different ranges (see "foldername1) that need to be captured and I was getting results like "foldername1 TEST0001 TEST0275", which is incorrect.
Need to insert 2 blank rows and sum columns (Columns B & D; range varies) based on cell value change (Column A). In attachedment I have before and after examples.

If someone is in Group 123 for 9 months, then Group 456 for 3 months, that membership should be reflected in the correct group accordingly.However, that person should only be counted once in the NorthDivision, not twice.

There are more age groups, & some groups have hundreds of lines. Each of the total line in the report has a number plugged in by the system, which, because of rounding, may be off by several cents. I figured out how to move the rows with Broker File Numer, etc & the row after it up above the first Age Range.
What I need to do next is:Delete all rows between "Age Range: ....." and the start of that range's data.Delete all blank rows between "Totals" and the next "Age Range: ...."Delete 5 rows after "Grand Total"Put a formula in the row immediately above each age range's "Totals" for each column, summing all the data for that column, in that age range. (Hopefully with the word Total in column B of that row, too)Put a formula in the row immediately above the "Totals" after "Grand Total" that adds together each of the Age Range totals.(I did figure out how to get the "Balance" cell in each row to sum that row going right to left, so at least I got a start! I have been using different keywords to find what I need. I have 3 checkboxes: cash, amex, other. I have a subtotal cell. When the appropriate checkbox is checked, the amount from the subtotal cell will auto go to the cell next to the checkbox. Is this VB?
View 6 Replies View Relatedway to do this but i have a sheet that is into 5 - 6 thous rows, in one of the columns (names) i sort it by names and then order it by subtotal for certain values.
What i need to know, is there anyway i can take just the subtotal values out and put onto another spreadsheet without copying and pasting it all as there are lots of subtotals and this would help alot as the other info is not nec. just the subtotal'd info. either that or is there anyway i can highlight the subtotal'd row info in yellow/bold text anything like that that would make it stand out without having to do it manually?

Im trying to set up an active running inventory sheet where: (A)the progressive daily sheet cells reference back to the corresponding master sheet cells fluctuating the master values, (B) the same progressive daily sheet cells reference back to a cummulative totals-cell based on whether I added or subtracted inventory. I want to make a copy of the blank "sheet 2" with all of the formulas and move it to the end of the workbook each day and enter new values which will reference back to the master sheet so that I can click on a date sheet and see an individual day's values or click on the master sheet to see the fluctuating inventory on-hand and the cummulative +/- totals of all days combined. I've got a couple hundred individual cells to reference. I've tried and tried but I can't make it work. Heres what I need to do:
I need to reference individual cells from "sheet 2,3,etc" back to a corresponding cell in a master sheet. But I need the values in each cell in "sheet 2,3,ETC" to increase or decrease the corresponding cell values in the master sheet. For example: If the value in the master sheet B5 is 200. Then in sheet 2, I enter +50 in B5, I need the master sheet cell B5 to increase by 50 to 250. I also need a way to decrease the cell value in the master sheet B5 if I enter a negative value -50 in sheet 2 B5. I also want to know if I can reference the same cell values entered in "sheet 2,3,etc cell B5" back to totals columns C5 for adding inventory or D5 for subtracting inventory in the master sheet where the master totals columns would reflect cummulative totals added or subtracted. For example: if the value in sheet 2 B5 is +50, then the value in Master sheet C5 would add 50 to a progressive total. But if the value in sheet 2 B5 is -50 then the value in master sheet D5 would add -50 to a progressive total.

A1 is the code, take the total(B) and calculate the base(C) on the percentage given in the G, net = B-C. for A2 and A3 it is the same process.
For A0 the total (B) is equal to Base(C) and calculate the net on the given percentage in G.
I am trying to write VBA code that groups cells between blank rows and inserts a message if a string of text (a name) is missing from the entire group. I want the code to search cells in column A and group the cells between blank cells. Use the name I input in an input box as the search criteria and insert a message in the Column C next to the last blank cell in the group and then move on to the next group and highlight the cell in red with bold text. I am including a spreadsheet with an example of what the sheet should look like before and after the code is run.

I have several groups of data in the same sheet. Each group has two blank rows above the first row of data. Each group has column "B" in common (e.g., "Phone" in the example attached). In Col X of the attachment, I have manually entered the count of the rows within each sub group, as determined by the counter in Col W. How can I do this automatically? In a financial environment we have a calculator which uses iteration to allow for a cost being added to loan amount where the cost is based on the total loan amount. Iteration is set to 100 iterations with max change .001
On one PC the first time the calculator is opened it gives a particular (incorrect) result. If the input cells are cleared and the data re-entered, it gives the correct result. This only happens on one particular PC. Is there some other setting , other than the iteration setting, that would cause this?
I have this massive spreadsheet, with the maximum rows excel will fit on one sheet. In the interest of simplicity, this is what the raw data looks like:

What I want to do is automatically get excel to group all the same names together. Then I want it to sum all the values for each name, then order by largest total value for each person, then order that by name alphabetically. In other words, the above would look like this after the sort:

Jones Jim $200
Jones Jan $300
White Jon $200
White Jon $100
Or, if necessary, there could be sum total rows under each name...although I don't have spare rows, so IDK. I could delete some rows if I had to, but would rather not.
Conditional formatting. I want to change the color of a group of cells based on data in another group of cells. Example:
If cells G8 and G9 (which are merged) are between 80% and 94%, then I9,I10,I11 (which are merged) will turn Yellow. Also, under the same scenario, IF G8 and G9 is greater than 94%, then cells I9, I10, I11 will turn Red.
After searching this board, I am using a check for this issue to alert when the problem occurs, but I'm hoping to tell Excel to fix the problem itself. The issue occurs when a set of data equals 100%, but when fewer decimals are displayed, the displayed total equals 101% or 99%.
Example:
0.6%
1.6%
97.8%
(Now when the display is changed to no decimal points)
1%
2%
98%
As you can see, the data appears to total 101%, and my boss is being a (insert any comment you probably have about your boss) about me not manually reviewing every single report that goes out for this 1% difference. As there are probably 400 different points at which this situation can occur on a daily basis, working harder is not the solution. /rant
I thought I once heard about a formula or setting where Excel will only calculate the displayed values instead of the actual value or formula. Ideally, the formula would know to take the three values, figure out the 100% limitation, and round the largest one down so the other two can round up. The example above is probably 99% applicable, as we would be rounding the largest value down in order to round the other values up.
Meaning intended result:
1%
2%
97%

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a worksheet I use at work that calculates volume proccesed hourly, and also shows a running total as you enter hourly figures into the table, my question is can you hide everything in the result cell until the figures for each hour are entered ? currently all the result cells have irrelevant numbers in them until you enter the hours figure and the formulas do there thing, I could relly do with them being blank until the relevant hours information is input?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want no time functionality nor any calculation of the entries. I simply want to type into a cell for example: 0908 and have it displayed as 09:08. I tried custom formatting the cell to hh:mm but then it displays as 00:00.
This is for a real-time incident logging sheet and the less the operator has to type, the better. I know it is only an extra Shift+: but it will be so much easier without having to do it.
