Feb 20, 2012I want total in cell A3 based on the month number in A1, example given below.
2nd example if I put 5 in A1 the total should be 2500 in cell A3.

Sometimes there are all 30 /31 days but normally not .
I need to find the last ocurance of the last date used for each month and then use the cell number to calculate the column totals for that month.

Nov 12, 2009I have forumlas that will look at this cell and take action of the month in a different cell is either 1 month greater (Frontmonth+1) or less (Frontmonth-1) than "Frontmonth". As we approach December I'm realizing that logic will breadown since the FrontMonth+1 would be 13, not 1 (January)
Is there a way to get excel to add 1 month to just the month number so that if Frontmonth = 12, Frontmonth+1 would return 1, not 13?

Changing Column Letters In Formulas Based On Month
Oct 30, 2007I'm trying to update a series of different sheets in a book based on what month I have filled in data for. For example, at September Month End, I will fill in data vertically. Now, I have different tabs that reference certain cells in that column. There row number never changes, but once a month I have to go through and increase their column letters by 1, and there are a lot of places to update. Can anyone lend me some ideas or a solution to how I should go about using formula/macro to update these cells.

Col A = Yearly Cost
Col B = The number of the month when the costs are starting (1=Jan etc)
Col C = The duration or the number of months for which the costs are to spread
Col D is Year 2013 with the months across columns D-O. Row 1 above those columns shows the month's corresponding number.
Right now I have =IF($B3<=D$1,$A3/$C3,0) however if my start month is 1 and my duration is 5, I need the costs to stop after May. I've attached a sample file. Calculate based on start month and duration.xlsx

Details:
Sales will fit in 1 of 3 categories. Less than 25k; between 25k & 100k; greater than 100k.
- if under $25K, recognize in next month (month N+ 1)
- $25K-100K, recognize in two equal parts in months N + 1 and N + 2
- over $100K, recognize in three equal parts over 3 months
N + 1, N + 2, N + 3 ...

In the cell E4 for example I have a minimum per day number needed which is based on the monthly goal divided by the number of days availble to work. What I would like to be able to do is have the number auto-adjust if a letter (i.e. V=Vacation, S=Sick, etc...) is used in place of a number on any given day.

The problem is when I select the month "January", it assigns the value of the above cell as 1/0/2013 which is not a date when in fact I want to set it as "December".

Its the received by paraplanning heading date, i want Excel to be able to tell me how many reqeusts were recieved in Jan, Feb, Mar etc. I've tried =countif but that does not do what i need it to, just get an error.

I know how to calculate this on an annual basis (i.e. 1 to 52) but not within the month.

eg. if i enter all my numbers as dark grey. then i enter say, 65, i want it to automatically change to black and bold. if i enter 105, i want it to automatically change to red and bold without me having to do it manually?

I have a cell with a dropdown picker. If the user chooses "Distractor" from the picker, Worksheet_Change triggers an Inputbox to open, asking what kind of distractor it is. We'll use "Gloves" for this example.
I want the cell to display "Distractor - Gloves" while keeping the actual value as "Distractor"

but of course now that it is january it results in an error because we are subtracting 1-2.
i was going to set up a Select statement to check if the month is 1 or 2 and deal with it that way.

Textbox Error When Changing Number
Apr 10, 2007This code works fine, the problem is if I put a number in, and then backspace in the textbox to change the number, I get a runtime 13, type mismatch. This error only occurs when I delete all the numbers in the cell. For example, say the number in the cell is 5025. If i change it to 5123, that is I did not have to delete the first 5, it will work. If I want to change to something like 4167, i must delete the first 5 and it will give the error. I have only been using VBA for a couple weeks, I assume it's something simple.
