Sumproduct - Select All Values Per Wildcard

Jul 30, 2008

Sumproduct formula with selection criteria of "A", "B"... in the first column and numeric values in the next colum. The selection is controled by a List where the user can choose "A", "B", ... ,or "ALL". What wildcard-type (pseudo) is needed to select all values when "ALL" is chosen?

I'm using Sumproduct because there is other selection criteria, but it should not impact this part of the formula.

Example: Sumproduct((A1:A100=X1)*(B1:B100)) , where A=selection aray, B=numeric value, X1=corresponding list selection to A

Text Wildcard In Sumproduct

Jun 15, 2009

I am having great difficulties in finishing this formula off.
It is a sumproduct containg many criterias, however one of them is to only add up a certain coloumn if another column begins with L&L...

The coloumd contains L&L and a number, but the number changes so i need the number to be a wildcard. I have tried ="L&L???" but this does not work.

=-SUMPRODUCT((Catagory="STK Retail")*(MONTH(Inv_Date)=3)*(YEAR(Inv_Date)=2008)*(How"Account")*(Order="L&L???")*(Stock))

Sumproduct With 2 Criteria & Wildcard

Jun 8, 2007

I have spent the last 2 1/2 hours trying to figure this one out on my own. I have attempted multiple possiblities from the forum, however without success.

Okay, I need a count based on 2 criteria. My data source is a different workbook.

My last attempt on a formula is:

=SUMPRODUCT(('[eTE Status - TX HSP Math 2009.xls]Project'!$B$2:$B$248=D2)*('[eTE Status - TX HSP Math 2009.xls]Project'!$A$2:$A$248="978*"))

Column A - ISBN #
This will ALWAYS begin with 978 or will contain N/A. There are no blank cells in this column
Column B - Grade

In the formula above, cell D2 represents the Grade criteria. And in the second part of the criteria I was trying to create a wildcard so all numbers beginning with 978. Excel "accepts" this formula with giving me an error message, but yields 0 as a result rather than 34.

SUMPRODUCT With 2 Wildcard Text Match?

Feb 20, 2014

Here is what I have so far:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Red",A9:A56))),B9:B56,L9:L56)/SUMPRODUCT(--(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Red",A9:A56))),B9:B56)

So in column A is the text string i.e Big Red Chiquita Apple
Column B is the dollar value
Column C is another variable.

If I want to find "Red" and "Apple" ONLY within same cell. What would be my best bet?

Validation Type Drop-down Wildcard In Sumproduct

Oct 5, 2009

I have a worksheet report that counts question answers filtered by facility, date range and case manager. I use Data Validation "List" criteria to make the in-cell drop-down lists for the criteria of the variable values. For most of them the selected value works fine, but for the case manager drop-down I need a value in the list, other than the peoples names, to represent "All" or be a wildcard and include all values in the selection. Here is the formula:

I think the problem is in the wildcard character. I don't know if I should be using COUNTIF or SUMPRODUCT or something else?

Wildcard Searching For Multiple Values And Returning A Result?

May 27, 2014

I have been trying to find a formula for this but I have yet to find one that works for me.

Data;

English - United Kingdom, Czech, Spanish
UK - United Kingdom
Swedish
English - US
French
US
France
German
Portuguese
+8000 more various values

I am looking for a formula that can search for multiple values e.g. english, us, uk and united and then return the value "Yes".

I was looking for something that includes wildcard searches or contains so that it is not affected by upper or lower case but combining this with multiple searches was proving difficult.

Sumproduct - Values Across Three Columns

Jun 15, 2009

i have information across three columns the first has user-names in each row the whole way down, the second has between 1-7 activity codes (when not eacher user will use), the third has the times they have been on these codes.

what im trying to do is match the name, code and get the time to be displayed in a fix table, as the reported information is not always in the same structer

eg

user1 code 1 0:02:00
user1
user1
user2 code 3 0:05:00
user2 code 6 0:20:00
user2

now i've got it in my head that sumproduct iwll be the best way to get it, but i cant seam to get the third array to work properly, and always comes up with either value or NA

SUMPRODUCT Not Picking Up Values

Apr 10, 2014

I'm trying to use SUMPRODUCT as a sort of SUMIF/VLOOKUP hybrid. The following formula:

Code:
=ROUND(SUMPRODUCT('[12 GB BUDGET 15 V1 LOCAL VERSION.xlsx]
Revenue'!$G$3:$FM$3=$K2)*('[12 GB BUDGET 15 V1
LOCAL VERSION.xlsx]Revenue'!$G$27:$FM$27);0)

... should check for the value in cell K2 of the current sheet, compare it to all the values in row 3 of the Revenue sheet, and add up any and all values for those columns in row 27 where there's a match in row 3.

I don't get an error, but it's not adding anything up, either.

SumProduct With Range Values As Criteria?

Mar 1, 2013

Is there a simple way to include the values of an entire range?

This is what I tried, but I get #name

Code:
=SUMPRODUCT((Datasheet!J2:J65000 = Range("C3:AA3"))*Datasheet!F2:F65000)
If I use a single cell it works, but only with what matches that cell.

Code:
=SUMPRODUCT((Datasheet!J2:J65000 = C3)*Datasheet!F2:F65000)
I'd like the criteria to match anything in that range C3:AA3. Do I need to specify each cell individually or is there an easy way have it use the entire range's values for its criteria?

Sumproduct Formula To Exclude String Values

Jan 22, 2014

Question is...in the below formula the red are pointing back to name ranges in a different tab on my spreadsheet. On that spreadsheet I also have a name range called DTCCSUBSUPPREF

I would like to add within my formula, a string which will point to that name range and exclude values if they fit my criteria. Basically I need to see values only where comp or tri dont show up. comp or tri could be the only value in the cell, or could be in the beginning of a string, at end, or in between. Below examples. I have tried (--(DTCCSUBSUPPREF<>"*comp*")*(--(DTCCSUBSUPPREF<>"*tri*") , and I would have thought the * characters would have served as a catch all.

Below is the entire forumla just in case.

11111111FT04comp
comp
tri
11comp
11tri
tri11111111FRP06

=SUMPRODUCT((--(DTCCSUBTRANSTYPE<>$G$2))*(--(DTCCSUBEVENTTYPE<>$I$2)*(--(DTCCSUBBACKLOAD<>$I$3)
*(--(DTCCSUBINPUTSOURCE<>$I$4)*(--(TEXT(DTCCSUBTRADEDATE,"MMM-YY")=$D$2))))))

SUMPRODUCT Criteria To Not Include Values Within Column

Apr 11, 2014

I'm looking at the formula in Sheet3, cell F5. You'll see that the criteria "--(Sheet2!I:I<>Sheet1!O:O)" does not seem to be working. I need the formula to not include any values from Sheet2!E:E, where the corresponding value in column I does not equal any value in Sheet1!O:O. Also, these values can change by user so its not as simple as just typing them in to the formula as an array...

That VBA part of this is that it's in a macro, so if there is any way to make this easier using code instead of a simple formula.

Excel 2007 :: Determining / Counting Number Of Values Used In SUMIF / SUMPRODUCT Function

Aug 2, 2014

I am using Office/Excel 2007 and Windows 8

I want to determine the number of values SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions used/checked to arrive at the answer, i.e. 95 for row 2 and 116 for row 3. A function that can give a 3 and 2 respectively.

Example:

Results for Row #2 gives: 95 with 3 values picked up under "Rate"

Results for Row #3 gives: 116 with 2 values though three places were checked up under "Rate"

How can I count the number of these values referencing at the "Rate" like in the functions used.

I managed to use SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions to calculate totals based on "Rate" in row one.

I tried COUNTIF function, but allows only field/heading.

A
B
C
D
E
F
G

[Code] ..........

results for each formula used

95 formula: =SUMIF(B$1:G$1,B$1,B2:G2)

95 formula: =SUMPRODUCT((B$1:G$1=B$1)*(B2:G2))

3 formula: =COUNTIF(B1:G2,B1)
