SUMPRODUCT Criteria To Not Include Values Within Column
Apr 11, 2014
I'm looking at the formula in Sheet3, cell F5. You'll see that the criteria "--(Sheet2!I:I<>Sheet1!O:O)" does not seem to be working. I need the formula to not include any values from Sheet2!E:E, where the corresponding value in column I does not equal any value in Sheet1!O:O. Also, these values can change by user so its not as simple as just typing them in to the formula as an array...
That VBA part of this is that it's in a macro, so if there is any way to make this easier using code instead of a simple formula.

I have a criteria issue with a sumproduct formula i'm using. The criteria is essentially supposed to say "if the value in column I (in Sheet2) equals ANY value in column O (in Sheet1), then do not include that line in the SUM. Here is the complete formula:

I have no problems figuring out SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT with multiple criteria, but I'm trying to help someone with an issue that the second criteria is actually not all-inclusive.
Column B - Lots of numbers, the SUM range
Column C - Yes and No flags. Y or N
C1 = maximum number of matching items to include.
So, =SUMPRODUCT((C2:C100="Y")*(B2:B100)) sums up ALL the Yes rows, but the guy wants to restrict it to the last X matches, and put that X factor in C1. So if C1=5, only the last 5 Y matches are included.

I'm using Excel 2007 and have an Employee Scheduling Program that keeps track of 10 employees on a monthly basis (1 worksheet per month). The days of each month are in columns (I thru AM) and my 10 employees are in Rows 6 thru 15, which creates a grid of cells. I use Conditional Formatting to highlight the Weekends, Todays Date, and Holidays. My Sumproduct formula (shown below) is in each of the cells of my grid and places a number (1 to 10 for each employee) from start date to the end date. My Current formula works great as it finds every occurrence of the argument but I need to modify it to include the contents of the Helper Column.
If(Sumproduct(($g$44:$g$74=$c$6)*($m$44:$m$74<=i$4)*($t$44:$t$74>=i$4)),1,0).......

Is there a simple way to include the values of an entire range?
This is what I tried, but I get #name
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT((Datasheet!J2:J65000 = Range("C3:AA3"))*Datasheet!F2:F65000)
If I use a single cell it works, but only with what matches that cell.
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT((Datasheet!J2:J65000 = C3)*Datasheet!F2:F65000)
I'd like the criteria to match anything in that range C3:AA3. Do I need to specify each cell individually or is there an easy way have it use the entire range's values for its criteria?

In the following formula I'm looking for MONTH 1 (January) and WEEKDAY 1 (Sunday):
=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$6936)=1),--(WEEKDAY(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$6936)=1),--(Sheet1!$D$2:$D$6936=$D2),Sheet1!E$2:E$6936)
is it possible to find MONTH 1 and 2 (Janauary and February) and use the rest of the formula as is? Can the same thing be done looking for MONTHs 3,4,5 or months 8,9,10,and 11?

I am attempting to count from a spreadsheet the reference number of a customer (numbers and text) based on two criteria.
1, If column G= Requested
2, Column I = Meeting
Count Row E
I thought a sumproduct was best and have started using it for the first time, I thought this should work but I keep getting a #NUM! error.
I have tried with numbers and it works but the non numeric aspect is difficult.

I have the following sumproduct formula that's providing solid results but I would like to add a 3rd column of criteria. I'v tired with little succes.
The following formula <=SUMPRODUCT(('IW 38 DUMP for Planning'!$A$1:$A$10000="2A")*('IW 38 DUMP for Planning'!$E1:$E10000={"PAA","RS","RSNR","S","SAM","SAMT","SAO","SAT","SOR","WKS"}))> totals all of the work in plant area "2A", in this case 52 records. I would like it to filter further with values in $H1:$H1000 matching criteria "CONTRACT", "MACH" OR "HTSMET".
The data is easy to find with pivot tables but I would like to take that manual step out of the reporting being doen from these records.

I have two sets of criteria I want to incorporate into one formula. In the first column, if the criteria is matched, it will check the criteria in the next column. The criteria in the second column is something that resembles the 'or' function. So if criteria equals x,y, or z, sum the results from the data range c3:c98. I tried writing it like this.
=sumproduct(--(a3:a98=a),--(b3:b98=x(or(b3:b98=y,b3:b98=z))),c3:c98)

Using Excel 2010, I am trying to do a Sumproduct formula with two criteria, one of which needs to ignore text values.
Here is the set up:
Column AColumn BColumn C
(Side)(Qty)(Price)
Buy5,51215.67
Sell119,428null
Buy24,20945.77
Sell20,05412.25
...
I'm trying to find the sumproduct of Qty * Price if the side equals "Buy" (or "Sell") but ignoring the "null" value in column C. The formula I have is =SUMPRODUCT(--($A$2:$A$20="Buy")*IF(ISNUMBER($C$2:$C$20),--($B$2:$B$20*$C$2:$C$20)))
The result in the cell is 0, but if I open the Insert Function dialog box, I see the correct value being returned.

I only want to include the Month of January in a sumproduct function on another page using a name manager array.
I was thinking of using
=SUMPRODUCT(INDEX(DATA,0,17),--((MONTH(INDEX(DATA,0,5)=1)*INDEX(DATA,0,17))
Where the dates are in the 6th column and include blank cells at the bottom and in the first row it says Date.

Now I also want to add the following

If i have the following layout of data
Column 1 Column 2
January 1000
January 1234
February 1300
March 1600
January 15
March 123
April 234
January 3000
I would like a formula that adds all the January numbers together returning a result of 5249
To move this one step further i would eventually need to add these numbers based on quarters, for example if the value is January February or March in column 1 then add the numbers in column 2.
I'm sure i have done this before using a countifs maybe but my mind has drawn a blank

Is there a way to filter column A but ensure it includes multiple lines of data in a different column.
I have attached an example of what I am looking for:
I need to filter by community but keep all the information listed in columns, B, C, & D.
So when I filter to Thunder Bay I would still see the 5 members listed in column D.
I realize the easy solution is to fill all the empty cells in column A to pick up the data in the other columns, but I do not want to Fill all the empty cells to include the name "Thunder Bay" (not the look I want for this spreadsheet).

I have a workbook where I am trying to COUNT the values greater than zero in column "J" based on a selective criteria of column "B".
In other words, if the date in a column "B" cell (B3:B78) is greater than the date in A86, I want to count the number of cells whose corresponding value in the "J" column is greater than "0". And then I want to take this selective COUNT and divide it by a COUNT of all the cells in the range "J3:J78".
So, what I am trying to do is:
FORMULA /COUNT(J3:J78)

I have a set of data (assume 2 columns, one with a long name and the second with a time). The names contain variables that must be used as criteria (a single entry may contain "Blue" and "On"/"Off") and times vary, based on when the Name turns "On" or "Off" [in minutes: 25 (On), 47 (Off), 89 (On), 100 (Off) and 137 (On)]. I need to create another table that automatically inserts values for all times, to include the missing times (0 min thru 24 and 26 thru 46, etc.). EX: If the first entry is "Blue-On" at "25 minutes", the cells from 0 minutes to 24 minutes are each "0" and become a "1" at 25 minutes - the following cells are "1" until 47 minutes (where it is turned off). (1 and 0 represent "On" and "Off", respectively)
How can I created a formula to insert the correct numbers into the correct places? I'm willing to have multiple cells with formulas and simply hide the columns that are doing the calculations.

I have lists of room areas in metres squared, I extract the web based lists to excel: for example.
10.56 m2
14.23 m2
21.34 m2
How do i calculate the total of these amounts?
Is there a formular to remove the "m2"?
I have tried using =SUBSTITUTE(A1,"m2","") which deletes the "m2" from the cell, but then I can't use =SUM(A1:A3) as this totals the 3 cells as 0.
If i use =SUM(A1+A2+A3) the total is correct, but I have over 3000 cells in one column to add together.
Is there a formula or something to remove all instances of "m2" or "m3" from the whole sheet or another way i can calculate the totals.

I want to be able to look up and match several values in my worksheet to confirm, that an entry is valid. I would like the test to return an OK / NOT_OK value at the end of each entry. In the attached file you will find four different variables. In order to include an entry, it must be matched to find related entries, before it can be included.
For an entry to be OK, it must contain a company that has been listed in the same industry, in four different quarters (not necessarily in the same year). A company can be listed in several industries, but as long as there are not four entries in the same industry in four different quarters, the entries are not yet OK (hence NOT_OK). Therefore the only entries that are valid in the attached file are:
Company A Q1 2009 Administration OK
Company A Q2 2009 Administration OK
Company A Q3 2009 Administration OK
Company A Q4 2009 Administration OK
I work in XL 2007, but have converted the attachment to 2003 for maximum compatibility.

I am looking to build a VBA to do the following action:
Look up an ID number from column F (ID numbers are separated by an empty row at current),
then check whether there is a corresponding value in columns N to P,
if there are values, copy them onto a different sheet into three different columns
if there values below this particular row, i.e. if the rows below say row 9 (where we looked up the ID number) in columns N - P are not empty, also copy all these values and add additional rows as needed on the sheet this is copied to
then look up the next ID in column F and do the same until there are no more IDs

I want to sum number values in a column. I have used "=SUM(C4:C100)" and it works a treat. Now the twist. I have an adjacent column (Column D) and only want to add values in Column C, where a corresponding value is in Column D on the same row.
So for example if I have C5 as $1000 and D5 as 13/5/13, I want to include the $1000 value in the sum of Column C. However, if I have C5 as $1000 and D5 as blank, I don't want to include it in the sum.

I have a pie chart on a pre-defined table with 15 categories where the data will populate over time (presently only 3 are populated) in descending order. As some categories will be blank/zero for a while, I'm trying to find a way to avoid showing the blanks/zeros on the pie chart. As I am trying to display the legend on the pie chart segment, any zeros cause the remaining labels to appear grouped together and rather messy. I would therefore like to hide the zero data from the pie chart so the labels do not appear, or to automatically extend the range to only include all non-zero values.
I found the following formula which, when used as a named range, automatically extends a list for data validation:
[Code] ....
I don't know whether there's a similar formula or whether a few lines of VBA are required to run whenever the chart or data worksheet are selected..?
