Update/calculate A Specific Worksheet

A long time i have not been practising VBA so i am looking for a little refreshment. I am having a workbook with a random number of worksheet with different name that the user can define as he wants. My calculation option is set-up on automatic so each time i make a change all my formulas are updated. However i want the user to be able to disable the calculation of a specific worksheet that he would chose throught a list. Basically the calculation will remain automatic but the selected worksheet will not be updated when a change occur.

I have been trying to remove or disable the message on update to other worksheet " To update all linked click yes......" I have try the following unsuccessfully

Application.AskToUpdateLinks = False

On the menu bar choose Edit ---> Links Can not choose manual, as the option is grey out (disable) I would prefer a vba solution, but I am open to anything to get rid of this message

I would like to change the greater than number to the value in cell 'I11' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data' and the less than number to the value in cell 'I12' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data'. The code I am using was done by recording a macro since I don't know how to code in vba.

I have a sheet with names and subdividers (Ent, Ver) on the columns, and dates on the rows. I am trying to make a form update the sheet when the name, ent or ver, and date match. I have attached a copy of my sheet to help explain that. I don't know much vba, but I can make a userform just fine. Trouble with most places is that the userforms only update based on empty cells, not based on more complex criteria.

I am trying to modify the macro that I have put together so that it executes only specific worksheets within a single workbook. In this example, I would like the macro to update worksheets A, B, and C but I have more sheets in my actual file. I am only able to get the macro to work on the active sheet. Attached is my workbook.

I have a column of 30 cells, each showing retirement dollars earned based on years of service (cell 1 = year 1, etc) and salary. Here is the predicament: A new hire is brought in with 10 years service, stays 5 and then quits. How do I change only cells 10-14 reflecting his/her salary and retirement dollars? Remember, cell 10 is the first year for the compound interest, cell 11 the second year, etc. I currently use the following formula for cell 10 (compounded salary from cell 9 * (1+.05)^1). Cell 11 is (compounded salary from cell 10 * (1.05)^1.

When you open a sheet, and it brings up the message "this workbook includes links to....etc" & asks you if you'd like to update... is there an event i can use to run some code before the user clicks 'update' ?

I have this issue, I am trying to create a spreadsheet which updates one (Database) based on another (Sheet1), then log's the changes on a third sheet (log), I keep getting the error 1004 message, but I can't see what is wrong with my code here it is, and file is attached also:

if there is a way (without using a macro) to calculate just a specific column or selected area in a spreadsheet. It is a colossal spreadsheet and takes a few hours to calculate even just one sheet. I know you can go through it hitting F2 then enter a lot but that is getting tedious!

What I am trying to do is to write a macro that will automatically copy six columns from worksheet (Sheet 1) to another worksheet (Sheet 2). i.e. ‘Description of Project’, ‘WBS Code’, ‘Rate’, ‘Employee Name’, ‘Premium’, ‘Invoice’, ‘Status’, ‘Total Cumulative Hours’, ‘Total Cumulative Amount’ from Worksheet (from Sheet 1 to Sheet 2)
The problem arises as I know the names of the columns to be copied in Sheet 1 (as details above) but they can be in any order in sheet 1.
In additional the columns ‘Total Cumulative Hours’, ‘Total Cumulative Amount’ are total columns so when they are copied from ‘Sheet 1’ to ‘Sheet 2’ their values should be copied as opposed to the formulas

I need to be able to open a workbook named "Cost Price List" and press an update button which will open Another workbook called "Numerical Pricelist" that will then look up the part number of the item and change the corresponding description only, using the "Numerical Pricelist as the correct master document. There are approx 5000 part Numbers but i have cut a small sample section.

I have a master employee worksheet with about 20 columns (name, position, salary, seniority, etc.) and over 1000 rows (all the employees). From this I created a second worksheet to calculate year-end bonuses.
Now, I need to check my bonus worksheet against any changes which have been inputed into the master worksheet such as changes to an employee's salary, position, etc. How do I do this? Do I need to create a third worksheet or use Vlookup in the bonus worksheet?

We use a spreadsheet to log all transactions at our front desk. I've made a column that automatically calculates the time when a transaction is input into a row. The formula is as follows:
=IF(D5="","",IF(A5="",NOW(),A5))
This morning that formula stopped working on the computer at the front desk, returning a message about a circular reference. I can open that same spreadsheet on my computer as well as others in the office and it calculates fine, but of course on the one computer on which I need it to work, it won't ;P
All computers are using Excel 97. Presumably a setting has changed on the front desk computer that's affecting this calculation.

I have code that links my existing workbook to a closed workbook. It works as planned but it goes to far. In my first workbook, the one containing the code, I may have up to 30 worksheets. If I am on Sheet5 I may need to run the vba code to update cells X:X only on Sheet5 but instead it updates cells X:X on all Sheets in the workbook. How can I keep this from happening?
I have asked this on another forum but it seems to be a difficult thing, perhaps impossible thing to keep from happening.

I need to have all the information in one workbook for all 100 employees and still provide an individual report for each user and an overall report. In the attachment is a "Summary" and "Calendar" sheet these are the original individual files. summary contains personal information and the "calendar" tracks absence and holiday and the totals returned to the Summary sheet. I think what I need is a Master worksheet that has all the information in for each employee pre row and to have a "calendar" input/change/ call worksheet sheet to call an individual detail, this would also update the master worksheet with any changes.

I have 2 worksheets in a workbook: "Orders" and "History". Both sheets contain the exact same columns. The "Orders" page data gets wiped clean at the start of each month. What I'm looking for is a macro solution that will copy any new rows and update any old ones that have changed on the "Orders" page to the "History" page, so we can keep a running history of sales. Ideally, I'd like the macro to fire only when performing a Workbook Save or Workbook Save As.
"History" is in date order, so adding new entries from "Orders" should be easy, just by adding rows to the bottom. Updating existing rows will be harder, because I want it to update if the row has changed but not be deleted or changed when the "Orders" sheet is wiped clean the 1st of the month.
Additional:
The columns in both sheets are:
Order Date
Ship Date
Order Number
Customer
Item
Qty
Amount
Because each item gets a seperate line, there will be rows that have identical Order Date, Ship Date, Order Number, and Customer entries, so I suspect I will need to compare multiple columns when deciding if one has changed (the only column that *should* change after initial entry on the orders page is the Ship Date, which would initially be left blank when the order is first entered).

I am writing code that when you click "OK" on the userform the macro should copy the user entered values which are already in a worksheet into another worksheet. Once the values have been copied over I would like the form to clear the values.

I have a form with grouped check boxes for each day of the week, and start date and end date from the Microsoft Date and Time picker control. I want to know the total days within the date range based on check boxes. For example, Tuesday and Thursday are checked off. The start date is December 1, 2012 and end date is January 31, 2013. What is the total number of Tuesdays and Thursays in that two month date range.

I have build an add-in To Calculate Specific Sheet when something change in the workbook. For this I am unselecting the "automatic calculation" option and check "Manual". Now with every change in a cell i would to call AUTO_CALCULATION_PI that is calculating only the sheet that the user have been selected.
The problem when i change a cell Workbook_SheetChange is not stiggered and nothign happen. I dont understand why? The add-in is doing the following. Create a Menu "PI Options", this open a user form where you can select the worksheet to calculate, the choices is store in hidden worksheet called "AUTO-CALCULATION-PI". When a cell is change the Macro AUTO_CALCULATION is called, and calculated the sheets that the user have selected.

i have a timesheet that we are trying to use. the problem is the column that says shift diff. if an employee works after 6:30pm for 1and 1/2hr, he is entitled to shift hours. shift hours is between 6m and 8am.
As long as he works after 6.30pm but works for at least one and a half hour, he will get the shift.
if work, 9am to 7:30pm, and have break between 2-3pm, should have 1.5hrs shift and 9.5hrs total
if work, 7:45pm-9:45pm, and have break between 8:30-9pm, total hrs work is 1.5 and shift hrs s/b 1.5hrs
if work 3pm to 12am and have break between 7-8pm, total hrs work is 8 and shift hrs s/b 5hrs

I would like to use the following code to see if the word "reservoir" shows up in any of the rows in a certain column. If it does I want to insert the formula = SUM(D7:D257)*0.1 into cell C2 and if it doesn't then I want to put a 0 into cell C2. I've tried many routes but can't get past the error if it can't find the word.
